I replaced my diverter valve and now it doesn’t send water to my shower head. Can it that when I took out my old valve the washer was broken, could the broken piece got stuck where the water goes to my shower head. Cause now it just drips water from my shower head. Thank you 🙏🏽
Here is my situation/problem... I believe the idiot who put the 3 handles in the shower/tub didnt use the part with the threads so they could be removed if needed instead they somehow glued them directly to the pipes coming from the wall. But slowly the water start has been getting slower from the showerhead and coming out of the tub spout. No matter how I set the handle for changing from the tub to the shower. So I was wondering if there is a rubber washer or something inside the middle knob for changing from the tub to the showerhead? Because I dont know if I can find a replacement set of knobs to change them all out? Or would a tub spout with a stem in it work? The kind of thing that when you pull the tab up it locks and the water comes out of the shower and when you push it down all the water comes out the tub spout. Im sorry but Im just trying to figure out the best way or easiest way to fix this because most of the hot water come out from the tub when you shower and it all ends up cold water before you can finish your shower. I have hair down to my belt line and it takes a whike to wash and condition my hair and I need to fix this as soon as possible!! Any advice you can give me to correct this huge problem would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for your time!! ~Fabo~
I'm not a plumber but you can get parts from a plumber's supply house or Lowes etc. Depending on the type of setup u have if it has a middle handle then it likely has a washer. Worst case you can change the complete diverter which is the piece behind the wall that goes through the wall and handles screw into.....can change them all...plumber charge bout $400. Something to consider....if your water heater is going bad or recently has gone bad...plastic strips can clog in the diverter and maybe only the shower part. I have a video on that also..Thanks!
@@joebeermaster5495 thank you for your reply. I am going to pull the middle diverter out and take it to Lowes and se if they have a replacment part for it. Have to figure out where the water shut off valve is located at first. 1 thing at a time I guess. Mon & Tue off so I will try to fix it all then. Wish me luck!! Thanks again!! Sincerely, ~Fabo~
@Debi Thibodeaux I took the thing apart the best that I could and it doesn't look like what the guy at lowes said it should. They somehow rigged it and I dont know if I can get all the parts out to even plug the middle handle and use a spout with the pin to get the water out of spout or out of shower head. Its a bigger headache than I thouggt it was going to be... ugh....
Once you have it all apart change the washer and check the seat that the washer sits on. It may have a chunk missing and this damages the washer. If the seat is damage you will have to tighten the handle more and more every time you turn it off. Thank you but no thanks . You are not more advanced than the place you were before,

Never trust a plumber who says HOT water heater. If anything, it's a cold water heater.
