A big thank you to Simon for coming on the channel and sharing his experience through balding. A few key things we spoke about that didn't make the final cut. Simon really threw himself in at the deep end when he had the first cut. He had a day out meeting good mates in town already organised for later that day. This left no opportunity for him to hide away with his new look which is a great thing. It allowed him to test those assumptions that people might freak out about it. When they didn't it allowed him to forget those fears and crack on. Nice one Simon 🤝 Forever grateful.

I shaved all my hair off to a zero guard two days ago and wet shaved it down to skin today, like Simon said, I didn’t realise how much I thought about hiding my balding till I didn’t have to anymore.
Everything from showering with enough time for my hair to dry and hair spraying it just right, to wearing hats and not being able to take them off, dreading taking hoodies off, the wind, the rain, swimming, crash helmets.
The list of worries is never ending and it’s all gone now with nothing more that a few flicks of a razor and I’ve had nothing but positive feed back about it.
I’d never of been able to do it if it wasn’t for @baldcafe and you Harry. Cheers mate.

Lot of people don't realize that most men end up shaving it off so they feel better/more confident. Head shaving is painful, and you have to shave often. I don't have a smooth head, so maybe I'm in a worse situation than most people. the earlier the acceptance of the balding/thinning hair the better, at least that was in my case. Mine was a very gradual thinning over 10 years or so. I started noticing thinning hair in my mid-20s. I didn't really have to start buzzing it, but i did it anyway to get used to it. I would occasionally grow it out and style it in my mid to late 20s, but i found that too time-consuming and expensive. Everyone around me was already used to me having a buzzed cut during that time. Now in my early 40s, it may be time to begin more of a shaved head look, rather than buzzed cut. But this time around, i'm not even worried about shaving my head, with the exception of possibly nicking my scalp on the first go round.

I tried every razor and every clipper, all price ranges. I probably spent a few $1000s trying out diffent devices over the years. So maybe try this 1st....The best I found is the Walh Finale. Use it every day or two. As close to a razor smooth as you can get without any irritation or bumps.
If I get lazy and go past 2 days, i buzz it with Wahl T clippers 1st, then use the Finale.
Also, as odd as it might seem, I still use shampoo. This keeps your scalp from getting oily and too shiny.

Whether I like it or not, I'll have to buzz it sooner or later. I reckon I have two or three years left before I'll have to buzz it and keep it like that.

I recently shaved my head bald. I didn’t have any signs of hair loss until May of this year. By June, my crown was visibly thin. By august, almost all my hair was gone from my crown. I then noticed my temples were thinning. I was in complete distraught that my hair could disappear this quickly. When I scheduled a DR’s appointment in July, I was unable to see him until October.

I think that most guys who think they look terrible without hair because of head shape or whatever are the same people that don’t really like their appearance to begin with and feel like without hair they are even worse. That’s a deeper problem that’s about A LOT more than just hair.
PS most women do not care one bit about hair. Younger girls yea to a certain extent but women nah they could care less. Just think about a gorgeous chick you like, maybe an IG model or actress. If she had a buzz cut would you all the sudden think she’s ugly? I know I wouldn’t no matter the head shape and we are way more about physical appearance than women. Bottom line is own your look, that’s the most attractive quality you can have.

It's ironic that people stress about hair loss making them less dateable because I met my girlfriend when my hair and confidence were at their worst. It's an odd coincidence. She thinks I look handsome with or without hair. The aesthetic aspects of my hair loss don't bother her, but it bothers her that I complain a lot about my hair loss. Finding a loving partner is possible without hair, but every other aspect of my life has been miserable because of this disease. I hate seeing myself in the mirror, even when I'm at home by myself. I used to like hanging out with my friends, relatives and coworkers, but now I hate it. This has almost ruined my career. I've been working from home instead of working at the office because I don't want people to see my thinning hair. I'm not the same person anymore. Losing hair means you also lose your identity and your confidence. I'm on a strong regimen of hair regrowth treatments, and I'm thinking of getting a transplant. That's my only hope in a life where every day is a nightmare because of this incurable disease.
