Mikey and I both hope that his story can help others out their navigate through their own journey through Male Pattern Baldness.

@@WildLand1895 You just described a deep pattern that most people have that goes beyond the hair question. There must be a term for it. But i kinda think most people just can't accept that there are some "bad" things in their lives that they can't change and that noone really can be blamed for. I see it when people talk about their jobs, relationships stuff, money and other stuff. Everything must be framed in a way so that the thing you found "bad" when you didn't have to deal with it is somehow "good" now since you have to.

My hair situation was similar to this guy. My crown started thinning when I was 25 years old I started to use Minoxydil and I was able to slow the process and also get something back. But of course we all know, alopecia doesn't stop so after one year an half the doctor said to me to start to use finasteride. I didn't want to use it, I knew I could experiment bad side effects and I wasn't really ready for that, I started to think that my healthy was 10 thousands times more important than my hair. So in June 2018 I decided to take the big step I shaved my hair. After an initial period of consciousness I became more confident every single day and now I don't even think about my hair, I have been worried about my hair for so long that I finally felt free again, no medicine no looking at the mirror full of anxiety. I love your channel and I really wanted to talk about my story. Cheers from Italy

But even though she came for the lunch she said in no uncertain terms that she would never settle down and rather not be seen with a bald guy! This is the same girl who couldn't keep her hands off me few years ago. I know this is more a reflection on her as a person but not having been with a girl for sometime, and regularly picked by family and friends for receding hairline; it does affect. I am amazed as how many look upon male baldness as some sort disabling disease. Don't know about the west but Indian urban society can be pretty cruel about this. He looks good with hair, too. From the front, lots of hair. But then he's young and the monk patch would have bothered me in my 20s. I'm 45 and not as bald as him; when I was 42, I buzzed it all off down to a couple of millimetres. It looked great in warm weather but not as good in the winter. If I did it again, I'd apply fake tan from November to March. When I grew it back last year, my thinning patches were still there but they hadn't got any worse. But here's the thing- after being a buzz cut guy for two years, I didn't mind having some hair, albeit with a couple of thinning patches. It just felt like lots of hair! My perspective had changed. I now have a short back and sides- an inch or an inch and a half on top, with a number three on the back and sides. The left side has strong thinning streak, as does the monk patch. But at 45, I'm happy with it. I'm nowhere near Jack Nicholson. I try to dress smart and keep fit.

You look good but I always think guys with beards or a lot of facial hair look better bald. I can't really grow full facial hair I've tried for a beard before and it just never got full. I'm balding too and honestly I feel pretty okay with myself as long as I wear a hat. I know hiding it isn't a solution and I've started taking rogaine and other stuff.

That's where I am at. I get the odd comment and ribbing. During covid I decided to shave it all off as the barbers were shut anyway. My wife was horrified and I got constant 'why' comments at work, though a few said it suited me. I grew it back and now it;s even worse. Thin at the back and top but full hair at the front. I am in despair as to what to do.

I as a 25 y/o guy have very mild recession at the temples but the balding crown does not appear in my family unless as a man you're in your 60s or 70s... The only baldness in my family that occurs is mild to moderate recession of the hairline. If your crown is balding then there is no point of return, you just gotta shave your head. But if a balding crown is not at play at all, then how far should your hairline recede up to the point that it's better to shave off your hair...

I don't even know why there are clinics for hair. Hair transplant is temporary. medications stop working after sometime or for some doesn't work at all. and yet it is a big business. Embracing baldness is the way to go!!

I really disagree. Some age-appropriate recession is better than a huge bald patch. You cant style it, its all about Hiding. Constant worry that people will see it from behind. And if you are into hair transplants, a natural looking hairline is easy to fix. No ethical doctor will transplant a full crown with normal density

*Best thing is just embrace what u have, if u have money u can get hair transplant but i think embracing is much better than surgery... Even the world richest person Jeff Bezos (CEO of amazon) or may be 2nd richest person he is bald and he looks good, important things are ur nature, how u talk, ur hard work, choose that partner who accepts u in whatever condition, embrace evrything, and getting shredded or bulky with beard and bald look is the best look 💯 no 🧱, or if u dont have a good beard shave it and maintain ur skin, clean it and be shredded with bald look, I'm a 23 yr old guy I have been facing hair falling/baldness problem but I'm embracing it, no stress, accept it and embrace it, I have good beard đŸ€žand bulky body like powerlifter and trimmed look.. I'm happy*

I also think that when you're incredibly famous and have been seen by everyone on the planet it looks a little absurd to suddenly come out of the woodwork with a full head of hair. That's why these celebrities get it earlier on when they still have enough hair. It's like driving a Ford pinto, everyone knows you driving a Ford pinto, but when nobody is looking you rip off the Ford emblem and put a Mercedes one instead. Everyone knows. Now you're just a guy driving a Ford pinto with a Mercedes emblem on the grill. I just said fuck it and shaved my head the other day. Love it.

I want to buzz my hair so bad. But something deep down is holding me back.
Things have up held okay by age 32, which is all I hoped for since I noticed the earliest signs. I’m still 2-3 years from a distinct bald spot and the thinning becoming more Gollum than man. So part of me wants to enjoy what I still have while I can.
I know I’ll look way better, no longer self conscious when my hair gets wet or is unwashed. But it feels like the buzz cut is the point of no return for balding guys. Like a new chapter you don’t come back from.
