I often see comments from people that say things like "How did you lose your hair so quickly!?" In this video I wanted to explain the reasons why although it looks that way, it's not fully accurate.
Balding will occur at different speeds for different people. After it messed with my well-being and took away a lot of enjoyment I decided to move on from hair loss completely. I shave my head and never looked back. I made peace with it and now I make videos keeping it real and talking about the topic of going bald through male pattern baldness to help other men recognise that although uncomfortable, it is something that can be completely moved past.
Thanks for watching.

If Going Bald is currently a big worry for you please make 15:09 onwards the bit you watch of this video especially. 🤝
Always trying to open the convo around this mate. Nothing to be ashamed of since so many of us will deal with it it 👍
Hi man great channel thx for creating such a good community, It's not a big worry really now but I'm not even 18 and I'm getting crazy thinned hair, my bio dad had the horseshoe by around 18-19 and seems like I'm going the same way lol, and having channels, videos, ect to watch that normalize it made it so much easier, planning to buzz my head soon then maybe eventually shave it.
Really happy to hear the videos and stories help. Male pattern baldness is totally normal and extremely common. Ain’t nothing to be ashamed of and make sure you talk it out plenty 👍
Bro plz help me my age is 22 and i am started bald sorry for my english
Harry,
Thank you again for sharing and being transparent with your story. I myself noticed hair loss since age thirteen and was so good at camouflaging the baldness...so stressful..that my parents did not even know I was bald until I was already a middle aged man. There is no androgenic allopecia baldness in my immediate family so as a 13 year old I was so motivated to hide it out of shame and felling like I was a freak. I have to admit if I could get my hair back safely I probably would and probably still shave my head anyway out of convenience but since I have been shaving my head my scalp conditions have improved and I just feel overall cleaner and more fit especially when I am sleeping on my pillow at night. Thanks again, brother.

I'm 20 balding since I was 17 and now it is very thin at the top. It just hurts when you see everyone of your age with full head of hair, styling their hairs in different ways.

I can fully understand what guys go through when balding at young ages. Despite many people telling it's no big deal or, chicks like bald guys, only the guy who's going through it knows the feeling. Hair is hair and most (if not all) men would love having full hair and THEN decide what to do with it. The possibility of chosing is the most important. The lack of options it's what make men mad.
The lack of control is very unsettling
@Rich T and what would you do?
@@aidanLVbeats i would never wear a wig a hair transplant is risky bcz you get scars on the head and its not 100% confirmed that you will get a good amount of hair. i would recommend to start using products that keeps your hair strong like Finasteride and minoxidil when you catch the balding.
@@aidanLVbeats im 17 idk if im balding at the crown my hairline is good i have hair to my shoulders . Soo true
I’m not balding or losing hair, but I subscribed just to mentally prepare myself for the inevitable. Lots of good stuff
You can prevent it if you start early
you can't 'prevent it' you can only slow it down unless you are lucky with the genes.
@@killculator8124 i mean yes, but it's better to start being on treatment at once if you notice a lot of shedding than being depressed about thinning hair 7 years later because you didn't do anything about it, the earlier you take action the better

It's a bitch when you expect the Norwood Reaper to hit you from the front but it ambushes you from the back.
Total rear sneak attack mate
From the back and the front in my case 😭😆
Agree, that was a killer.
Hahaha norwood reaper 😂😂,, weird i was the opposite, i always imagined going bald from the crown but the NR hit me with a frontal assualt.
The opposite here aswel, its hitting me pretty hard from the sides but still don't notice anything at the crown. It's been going on for at least 4 years so I hope it stays like that

I’ve always thought hair was a pain in the ass. 🤙
What’s interesting is the older someone gets the less bad balding looks..society kinda accepts older guys are bald and it isn’t a big deal
That's true! When I was in my teens I was like, I can't wait to get in my 30's then I can shave my head and feel comfortable looking more mature 😂
So that point may make you aware about the fact that bad or good looking from an objective point of you doesn't exist and this is only a society construction instead
This. I started balding at age 21. It wasn't just going bald that was psychologically devastating, it was going bald when few or none of my peers were going bald. It still would have sucked if it happened in my 40s, but not nearly as much. It felt like being robbed of my youth overnight.
True. . .also when you're younger (20s) shaving your head makes you look abit older, but as you get older(30s, 40s) a shaved head actually starts to make you look younger
@@TheRelen222 I started balding at 19 and it absolutely sucks because all my peers still had great hair. I feel like I’ve skipped my 20s and 30s and went straight to 40
Nothing is worse than dealing with hair loss in the summer. Hot, sweaty, sunlight shining through it, frizzy, and you tend to swim more.. ugh! glad I cut it all off!

I just want to say thanks for sharing your story and others. I'm 23, my hairs been thinning for a few years but seems to have quickened over the last month or 2. Just trying to build the courage to take it all off at what should be a good time (new country, new friends, new job) and watching these is a big confidence booster
This channel is freaking amazing. a much-needed community of people going through the same exact thing, supporting each other. beautiful thing
Thank you so much for this channel man. Seriously, it has made my hairloss immensly easier to go through. I felt so alone in it before and was suffering every day, but your channel have made all those feelings go away and has made me at ease with my baldness.
Really appreciate this comment mate 🤝 it’s why I stay dedicated. Wish you nothing but the best.
My dad was bald all my life.. I don’t even have a memory of him with hair… so at 21 when I started noticing I was thinning I actually felt it was like a rite of passage… I said “time to look like dad” and I associated no negative thoughts with “losing” my hair… it’s not what’s on your head boys, it’s what’s in it.
Lady here. My cousin started going bald in high school. He shaved it early and just embraced it. I've shaved my head twice and the first thing I thought each time was "wow. I'm beautiful." I think we hide behind our hair a lot and once it's gone it's just you and your face. The second thing I thought was "I'm frigging freezing."
Why did u shave your head?
@@athayphom3238 No reason really. Just felt like it haha. Wasn't having a midlife crisis or anything lol.
@@gdaymates431 Exactly!! I've never shaved my head but have buzzed it quite short. It's soooo freeing not to have hair.
It's because you're a diffuse thinner, which will make the balding process unnoticeable until you have considerable hair loss. Maybe not 50%, probably more like 25-30% if you can spot early subtle signs of loss. But by the time you have that distinct thinning spot, it's been going for years. It's not like at 25 you suddenly have androgens affecting your hair follicles. Realistically I think everyone who is prone to mpb starts losing their hair during or shortly after puberty, it's just with varying aggression.
True I started thinning at my temples at 19. My hair loss continued but always at a very tempered pace. I’m 31 now and it’s probably about a Norwood 2 - 2.5. Only now is it becoming more of a problem. Sometimes the slow drip is even worse tbh.
@@GeoffCameron22 Nah bro, i promise you its not worse lol. Agressive is much much worse. 0 time to develop acceptance.
@@grantmartin2002 Fair enough, I can't imagine what that's like because it's not my experience. In the end it all sucks but perhaps for some it's borderline traumatic.
When my head started accelerate going through diffused thinning I found my head was really itchy all the time. Shaving it off is a relief
@Magpiecage Best of luck my friend! Regardless it's just hair at the end of the day.
Thanks for sharing Harry. Totally relatable and extremely commendable on your part!
Hi my man :) So happy you got the sponsorship!! You deserve so much. All of the best with your South African team and hope the wife’s all good. Light

You and I have the same balding pattern. Sadly I noticed my hair loss around the age of 17 and by I think 19 years old is when I started shaving my head and trying to accept the baldness. lol I always felt that if you're losing your hair, you might as well stop trying to hold on and let it go. You'll feel better about what's happening. Trust me, you're not hiding it from anyone.
Man I've gotta be so real with you, I've spent the past 5 years CONSTANTLY worrying about my hair I've been wasting so much time over it. Ever since I discovered your channel I've felt this constant relief of 'You know what, it's gonna be alright'. I've got longish hair at the moment but I've definitely lost some hair over my 20's, 29 years old now. No idea how it's going to progress but watching this channel has just made me feel so much better about myself & everything, definitely lowered a lot of my anxiety as well. Cheers to everything you do man!
Same buddy. It’s not been fun but knowing there are many others going through the same thing is comfortingly
Bro What should I say. I just turned 21. I lost my relationship in October and coincidentally started balding at the same timedespite the fact that ive no history of Mpd in my family.Life can be so unfair

Not balding but my father started balding at 20 and was fully bald on top by 23-24. I’m 18 and I come back to this channel every now and then and I feel ready to embrace it the second it occurs to me. I even buzzed it fully and I looked even better than with hair :D
Dude your videos actually just really making me feel good about myself, accepting that im going to bald in a young age, im 16 rn btw, ive noticing some thinning in top of my head, so all i did its just cut my hair short just so i can ready for the time to come.

Yo! 😂 crazy how things work out
Started losing mine in my late teens, almost completely gone by 21. Accidentally cut it all off by putting the wrong grade on the clippers. It was hard being that young being bald. But now at 32. It’s more age appropriate and less weird. On the flip side, my brother got a transplant in turkey a year or two ago haha. Thanks for the videos dude

Love these videos. I shaved 19 years ago. I must say, it’s never been something I’m overly focused on. You do allot of good all the same. 👊
There is ONE main annoying thing about losing your hair slowly. When you decide to have the courage to shave it off or do something about it people throw comments like "Why? Nobody can tell" or "why are you worried about something that will happen in the future" or "why dont you just enjoy it while you have it". I find it strange that people lack the empathy to understand how losing something that is a part of your identity is so devastating and that there is no simple solution. People just dont support you to do the things that are best for your mental health and it really sucks. Im glad I shaved my head, although I know its not an option for everyone. Nevertheless I still I encourage everyone out there to find the courage to do what you believe is best for your mental health, whether that be shaving your head or getting a hair system or transplant. Fuck everybody else, they dont know what its like to be in this position.
Hi man i have shaved my head but i still feel insecure because i have bad head shape , what can i do ?
@@damienoptc7222 maybe gym will help
Shaved my head a few weeks ago and your videos helped me to develop the bald pride I still needed. By the way, I’m 38 now. Losing hair since I was 17.
"bald pride". That sounds stupid. Why all of a sudden people start adding "pride" to everything? Fat pride, gay pride, black pride, women pride etc etc. Doesn't make any sense. There is nothing to be proud of being bald. I think I am briefly away from starting balding since my crown/cowlick look kind of thinner compared to usual so I am mentally preparing to become bald in maybe a few years. It will be inevitable so no need to be proud, it just happens and will live with it.
@@LakituKoopa💯 pride is a deadly sin

Same thing has happened to me. Started balding at 18-19, currently 22, went bald last year in february. I grew it out for a few weeks this year, the balding progressed insanely far, crown obliterated, hairline gone. At least my beard is coming in thick though.
I literally grew my hair out long because i feel i have to enjoy it while i still have it, i have some entries in the sides
I like your your channel. I started losing my hair at 17 years old and by the time I was 20 years old I became bald. It happens fast. I commend you for your encouraging words for others who go through this process in life. Thank-you for the well made videos on this topic. Cheers!
I've been shaving my head for well over one year and a half now. I still have a lot of hair, in fact, my head looks way fuller than your Sep 17 - freshly shaved version, but I still struggled with how I'd look if a wind breeze revealed my scalp. The back part on the top of my head (the crown) is the worst part by far, so no regrets at all, just the opposite: I feel like I've let go of a burden that wasn't mine to haul.
Kudos to you for your channel, my friend. Subscribed a long time ago and it's great to see how far you've got ;)
i started receding at 16 and slowly dwindled to norwood 2 with diffuse thinning at 38. My friends who made comments on it became slick bald at 30 in a span of 3 years

Excellent video mate. Thanks 👍
I was 17 when i first noticed a change in the hairline, and realized i was gonna go bald, even if only i could see it(and i was right all along). For me it has been such a slow process, that i only began to dislike how they looked when i was 24. i disliked it so much that i eventually began to go to the barber as few times as possible, because at that point it was just a drag ahhaha. I remember that after a certain point, i constantly looked at reflective surfaces to check out my hair, only to be disappointed to see that it looked like shit. It is so endearing to think that now i actually enjoy looking at the mirror again after shaving, and feeling like my look is clean, tidy and respectable. I'm really happy that i found your video on remington quick cut, when i was building the courage to do it :)
What’s funny is that bald guys look so weird with hair once you’ve seen them bald. I would say this guy looks mostly better with no hair, brings a more masculine look to him. I’m not bald personally but I have shaved my head a few times just to change it up and it’s not a bad look. It has its perks

Great video, my dad and grandad both went bald in their early 20's, mine came about a decade later, im 37 now, still have most of the hair but it's pretty receded (and very thin in the front, and pretty normal everywhere else), mine is sort of starting at the front and moving back, i still have hair on the top, back and sides it's just creeping back. i knew this was going to happen so i started buzzing my head when i still well and truly had a full head of hair a decade ago and i liked it and got used to it. now that it's very much receded, i am now shaving it with a razor and it looks and feels incredible. thanks for all you do my friend! cheers to all my bald brothers!
You motivate me so much
Started getting my hair buzzed- from top to bottom: 1 guard, .5 guard and zero guard. Looks effing great! I'll never go back to growing out my hair. Focus on what really matters. If you're going thin...get clean...(buzz or shave your head), get lean...(hit the gym) and get mean-...(grow a beard).
Harry funny thing is, that most of the guys who are bald/receding would be absolutely happy with your back in the day hair pics. At the end of the day, what matters is the perception we have for ourselves. If the hair in your head make you unhappy/insecure, name it. - seriously get rid of it and find peace again. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Love your channel dude. I know you post to help ppl and also make money from the videos. I know your not that insecure.
Thanks for watching brother 🤝
I started receding at 17, a little thinning patch. It took till I was 49 till it got to the save off point. Wish now I had done it sooner but like you looking at older pictures I notice it more. If I looks at old photos of my Maternal grandfather his hair loss was identical to mine. Receded, didn’t lose any hair at the back and over 30 years thinned around the receded area. My Dad had thick curly hair. 🤷♂️. I’m so at ease with it now. I actually had very subtle SMP during the gap between lockdowns as I had a line between the front and back of my head from thin at the front and thick at the back. I only did it as I got loads of PPI Money! Shave it every 3 days now. Love it and you are your channel has been a massive inspiration and help. So thank you and stay safe.
being 18 years old myself and seeing these clips of you at age 26 with much better hair/ hairline than me is pretty heartbreaking. i’d do anything to just keep my hair until even just 25 😩
I mean there are things you can do but it does require money and some effort so I guess youde just have to decide if your hair is important enough to you to commit to keeping it or not.
Take finasteride and watch Kevin Mann's channel. I stopped my hair loss with that. If you lose even more hair, you don't know how are you going to look.

Baldness isn't inherited from your father's side ,it is inherited from you r .mothers side ,your mothers father
@@donkeyballs3307 That's so cap baldness is determined by both your father's hair and your mother's father hair, it's probably a 50/50 thing where you get some hair genes from ur mom's dad and some from your dad, so if your dad is completely bald but your mom's dad has no balding you shouldn't expect to experience 0 balding but you shouldn't go completely bald like your father

Normally I wear contacts but for some reasons I didn't feel like wearing them for weeks. Also, I didn't clean my house all that time. The first time I put my contacts in again I was shocked. Hair everywhere I looked. hunderds of hairs in my bed, in my shower, in my kitchen, on the floor, EVERYWHERE. I inspected the floor inch for inch just looking at all the hairs that had fallen off and I was so depressed/angry/sad/anxious all in rapid succesion. People telling you that 'it isn't a big deal' have no idea how devastating it can be.
Interesting. I first noticed my hair getting thinner in my mid twenties (Used to have extremely long hair before that).
It was a slow, but steady process from that point on. When I realized I was starting to lose my hair, I just shaved them off completely. Didn't look to bad :) though I let them grow again afterwards.
I recently turned 35 and now it clearly shows. I don't mind shaving my head, but IF I had the chance, yes, I would wish for them to grow back, lol
But my older brother was far worse... he was already completely bald before he even turned 20
I’ve been getting baldfades since in my teens and let my hair grow on some time period but my hair start to crown up in my 30s and shave more often. I still get looks from ladies but wish to have full hair. I miss that stubble hairline after shaving I used to have
I would have never guessed you'd experience MPB, and especially so fast, looking at your old pictures. But you're a good looking guy, so you suit both looks.
Shaved my head at 20, (2 months ago), was very scary at first and people did notice and say stuff.
I just pretended I didn't care then BAM, out of no where i just accepted it and now im rocking a shaved head proud!
Also I got the leaf shave from your recommendations, QUALITY RAZOR!
The receding hairline is also something that you can get to accept instead of feeling uncomfortable about it. Especially when you somewhat manage to stabilize it with Fina + minoxidil in your daily routine. You can still get your hair looking good just slightly covering without overdoing it. And some hairspray can keep it inplace without using a ton of gel.
If that routine serves you well go for it 👍
🙄
Trying that, but my hair is super thin and went to Norwood 3 from Norwood 1 in a little bit than a year. At this rate, my hair will be NW4 or 5 before Fin-min even take effect. Within 1 year I look the same as my friend who's been balding for about 7 years, it's insane.
I had a full set of hair, had it long and I was able to style it. When I turned 23, I started to notice that it wasn't as thick as it used to be. My sister in law told me I was getting a bald spot on my crown. It happened fast. I just decided to shave it off, best decision I made and it helps you mentally.
I’m thankful that I have amazing genes on both sides but I usually watch these videos because they are honestly very interesting and also remember if your young and your loosing your hair, remember sometimes it could be your health, stress or more or genes
These videos definitely helped me gain the confidence to cut my hair off a few months ago and I have not looked back. Was thinning bad the last few years and clipped it short and then shaved it completely the same night. I absolutely love it. I haven't looked back and enjoy the twice a week shave. My fiancé and family think it looks good which is a bonus 😊.
Still love watching these videos too
I was losing my hair very slowly, but that started when i have 20. I don’t know what is better, i think so much is better if that come fast, you accepted that earlier and be freedom. Five years in cage of depression is something horrible, now im lucky man with bald head 😃
Yeah for sure something to be said for that. It can be a long painfully drawn out process. Certainly not easy.
@@Baldcafe That's how mine was. Basically twenty years of suffering becuase it was such a slow process. Finally I don't give a shit anymore and just shave the ole dome.
I’m glad you overcame your depression. I’ve been shaving my head for a few years now but still can’t move on from it
@@beardedbaldie2698 What do you give a shit about hair for? To impress the ladies? Most ladies don't give a shit about hair. Its all personality when it comes to the Ladies. Smile and show them you don't give a shit and neither will they.
All things being equal, I'd put up a bald guy who's funny and intelligent up against a guy with a great head of hair but kinda lame any day of the week when it comes to women!
Remember stuff like getting in a lift and the bright light shining right through my hair lol. I noticed my hair thinning about 23 but whimped out of shaving it till I was 41 but it looked like a ridiculous combover by then.
I just took the plunge and shaved my head clean because over the last few years my baldness had really started to show around the crown and the front of my hair was thinning too. I always had long hair and don't like my hair short so I decided to just get rid of it and finish my worry of baldness. I feel so much better without that hair loss worry. Great video. 👍
Same sort of situation with myself, used to be very conscious of my hair and all the guys used to joke and say it was thinning knowing that I would bite until around last November, this time they weren't joking and showed me a picture... im 23 years old and panicked quite a bit thinking it would take away from my boyish looks, but after seeing the pic I shaved the head straight away and grew a beard and would never look back! Keep up the good work! 👌🏻
It happens, shaving your head age you like 10 years.
I noticed my hair was thinning when I was 21. But by the time I was 26 that’s when I started to really lose my hair. And I’m really sure it was due to the fact that I was stressed due to personal and difficult stuff i was going through at that moment. I’m sure it was stress and depression that contributed to the faster hair loss.
Alopecia or what ever its called is common in stress .so yeah stress caused yours
Very interesting video. I feel like this might be me in a few years, i do the zero grade and you can start to see the diffusion on the top. Ill get to the razor blade soon :)
Something to look forward to 👍
where you were at 26 is exactly where I am at and I'm 26. thinking about slowly progressing to a shorter hairstyle to eventually shaving it all off. Thanks for the videos. You gained a sub
You look great bald and still looking super young!
Even your dad is good - looking. You both make up for it in the face. But I still understand the frustration.
I’ll let him know 👍 he’ll Appreciate that 😂 👍
I thought for a long time that I was alone in this journey of being bald, but it is absolutely comforting to know that there is this movement and this pride in being bald
Btw, watching this while I shave my head
Oh dude, you have incredible head shaving company in this world 🤝
Great video man! Thx!👏👏👏👏
I actually have the same thing. Once my receding really started I now have a bald spot on the swirl part of my hair as well as my front really thinning out.
i have recently embraced the bald look after six years of almost waist length dreadlocks.
It’s crazy how good shaving your head could be. I was clinging on for years and it consumed me. Finally shaved it off and it was a huge weight off my shoulders and it was something that took so much mental space, and boom it was gone. So amazing. BUT, it’s crazy as when you grow your hair back it all the insecurities come back .. over the winter I grew my hair back in (due to laziness) and suddenly I was back to obsessing and even sent for a hair transplant quote. I shaved it off again, and boom all the insecurities went and Iv no interest in the hair transplant
I used to feel the same. The more often I shaved it, the less I thought about my hairloss. But for the past year it’s always on my mind and I’m seriously considering other options. I guess everyone’s experience is different.
I'm almost 45, and have been shaving my head with a razor since 33 years old. I really started to notice receding at around 18-19 years old. I got my friend at uni with clippers to no.2 it off and never looked back since. I think it's hard for a man to accept hair loss, and if it happens at a younger age even harder but everyone gets used to it quickly. Now I don't give a ***k and honestly prefer being bald. Stubble is annoying after 2 days but that's how it is.
It’s really the stubbtle I’m worried about 😂
Great videos mate!
Thanks for watching Edward 👍 much appreciated
looking back, I remember my barber mentioning something about the crown looking thin. I was probably 16 or 17 at that time. 30 now and I've probably started shaving my head around 26 or 27.
Been slowly buzzing my head shorter and shorter over the months, and now I've barely got anything. It feels so strange going outside and feeling the breeze on your bald head instead of feeling your hair being blown around, hahah. A good strange though!
Enjoy the freedom man 🤝
@@Baldcafe thanks for everything you do, brother! Much respect
It’s a pleasure man. Appreciate your support and for watching the vids. All the best
My hairline was receding at 19. I shaved my head at 21. I grew it back at 23 and realized how bald I really was an after a couple months I shaved it again and haven't looked back.
sounds like me too. i was in denial until i saw my crown bald spot on a security camera. it was like a gut punch.
So strange how the way yours went is exactly the same as mine, both same age too, watchin this channel made me go for the full shaved head 👍🏻
You’re the man
