Great show, love the chemistry you two have.....
Not sure if I can revisit this movie again..... I’ll have to give it a shot

I enjoyed this movie and the Queen album A Kind Of Magic. I saw Queen back with Freddy Mercury back in the day on their Kind Of Magic Tour. Brian Blessed's character in Flash Gordon also mentions Who Wants To Live Forever. I also saw the wrestlers Hulk Hogan and co in both Wembley Stadium and Earls Court in the 1980ies they where fun. Interesting that Queens new front man has the name Lambert.

Highlander was such a unique and alluring movie at the time - love it. I have a recommendation for Winening About Movies: Brian De Palma's best movie, imo, Blow Out. The wife and I re-watched it last night - so great... one of the most overlooked.

I have not seen Highlander yet. I will have to summarily add this to my watchlist. Great episode as always.

I literally saw the film for the 1st time hours before watching this. It wasn’t bad. I like the flashbacks, as the modern day stuff was a bit lackluster. Some of it was a little clunky, but it wasn’t a huge problem. One thing I particularly disliked was the love story with Brenda, as I found that unnecessary and random as it just came out of nowhere.

I agree with Liz, cause when I saw this movie as a teen I loved. Though I continue to love the main song and the photography of the movie ...later I found the story very puzzling ... i hope they remake it and give a true origin story a trilogy would be awesome, having enough time to give more background for many of the characters.

"The only thing I have to say is; It is better to burn out than it is to fade away!"
I loved this movie ever since I saw it for the 1st time on HBO over at a friend's house. Liz was so right Rob; this movie was all about time travel! Just the hard way around! 😄👍 You gotta follow up this movie with Jet Li's The One! The One gets so much flack - being called a Highlander rip off, plus it introduces the Multiverse in movies well before the MCU did in movies or DC on television! 😃🤙

Love the scene with the machine gun dude. Walks up, yells out "what the f**k is going on here???". Goes nuts. Funny as Hell.

Highlander. I've lost track of how many times I've seen the film. I just showed it to some friends last year for the first time. Our friend David is a retired geography professor and he and his wife liked it. It's a good fantasy with some descent action and memorable characters thanks to Clancy Brown and Chris Lambert and Sean Connery of course. Man he got a lot of money just for a week or so if work. When we were done watching the film they asked if there were any more movies and I said no. Seeing Highlander 2 in the theater was one of the most soul crushing experiences ever along with Star Trek 5. Another good franchise wasted along with the likes of Aliens,Terminator and others.

Love this episode! I LOVE Highlander, but seeing it through Elysabeth’s eyes makes me realize just how much a product of its time it was. Side-note: The Kurgan was evidently a Def Leppard fan. His quote “I’ve got something to say: It’s better to burn out than to fade away!” Is from the opening of their song “Rock Of Ages.”

That’s interesting ... what i wanted ti know was how the immortals realized there would be a gathering since apparently some killed each other without discrimination why others waited till the gathering to fight ? Didn’t make sense to me but maybe wasn’t necessary to explain

    That was a fun episode!
I do love Highlander... just slightly above Zardoz and Lifeforce.
In regards to the Silvercup rooftop fight scene, I think the combatants fall through a raised skylight above the waterline, so the water doesn't fall through... I'm going by memory because hooking up my VCR seems like a hassle currently :D

This is top 3 movies of all time for me.
The movie is littered with flaws as Elizabeth mentions. For me I love the premise and the proformances of Clancy Brown and Sean Connery that it elevates a generally enjoyable movie.

Try Primer if she hasn't seen it, that will blow her mind! Hard to understand. That was the only movie that I immediately rewatched with the commentary on and then after that went to the internet to try and figure out what happened.

I love how memory works with some people, lol. They remember Heather asks Connor to light a candle on her birthday, a small inconsequential part of the movie, and yet they skip right past the scene where Connor proves to Brenda he is Immortal, LOL :D Oh, and the water from the roof top didn't fall through with them because they fell through a skylight which was built up from the roof by about a foot.

Great show. I've got a funny story you will like Rob if you get a chance to read this. I was watching live and about a quarter in I had to leave for a bit. I got back and started watching again and a few minutes in I was thinking is Rob totally wasted. You seemed like you were speaking really slow and very drunk. Then I remembered my dogs like to get onto the desk and look for food and they walk all over the keyboard. Had a look at the settings and the speed was at x.75. :) But then even after I put it back to x1 I couldn't stop thinking you were still a little drunk. :)

I remember watching this movie when it came out in 1986 and it was one of those movies that really stuck with me. The premise was great and the soundtrack by Queen was amazing. The sequels were pretty terrible as the story had nowhere to go(sort of like Terminator)and one movie was enough. Though one of the best renditions of Who Want to Live Forever was by the petite Italian pop singer Giorgia. I was curious if they would do a bad movie night as The Love Witch is a recent campy low budget horror film with something to say by Anna Biller who not only directed by did production design, costumes and editing.
