Lmao yeah gotta love the inconsistency and hypocrisy of """fans""" when they say he's too weird to return but then get mad when Blanka, Dhalsim, Dee Jay, or Honda aren't in a game. So blinded by nostalgia.
I never noticed those lines over Necro's skeleton! what a cool detail. Nice ending to the video. Very hopeful for these 2 cool characters I hope will come back

Well argued. Necro is due for a comeback, hopefully with Effie lending assists with her psychic powers or something to further differentiate him from the undeniably iconic Dhalsim.
What I find most interesting about Necro is that he seems intentionally designed to combine the traits of SF2's freak characters.
He's got the stretchy limbs of Dhalsim and Blanka's electricity, sure, but there are also narrative parallels. Both Necro and Dhalsim have their romantic partners appear in-game. Both Necro and Blanka have tragic backstories--they were normal children mutated beyond recognition but still achieved happy endings by finding loved ones who see them as human.
Another thing that interests me about Necro is that he looks like some random thug from a Capcom Beat 'em Up like Capcom Commando or Battle Circuit. To me, that connects his visual design to the Capcom habit of making Street Fighters out of the Hugos, Abigails, Poisons, Sodoms, etc. of the world.

Tbh Necro as a character would be way more appealing right now than when he was made, people just change and most of the fighting game players today don't like the idea of having to play the same characters all the time, me at least got in love with his style, history and art, he's like a bad guy who didn't want to be one but he can't go back to an average life, but will not lose hope after fiding someone that he can rely on, even in the comics he's like that.
I want him back in SF6 so much, if i don't get him i will make my own game with him or at least a clone.

Necro is a cool character. You could argue he's one of SF's more unusual designs, but otherwise I don't understand why he gets so much hate. "hE's A fReAk" I'm pretty sure most of the cast could be defined as freaks, seeing as how the majority of special moves aren't even possible by real humans.

I find Necro and Effie to be a very compelling duo.
you can immediatly tell how much these two mean to each other just by their animations, the way Effie rushes in to celebrate or wallow in defeat with Necro after each round is just very wholesome, no matter if its the hights of victory or the depths of defeat, theire in this together.
Necro may be a weird mix of Dhalsim esque stretching and Blanka esque electric powers but through his unike personality and his story he transcends both Blanka and Dhalsim in likability imo, i really wanna see him in a new game with Effie as an actual part of Necro's moveset to give her a bigger presence and to hammer home how much they rely on each other, id immagine Necro would still be the main fighter and do most of the work but Effie would show up for the EX variants of Necro's specials putting a whole new spin on the respective move, that or shed be a summon that you can call uppon using a meter idk.

late but I'd like to point out that even if Twelve was hunting down Necro, Necro tried to convince Twelve that they both could choose over their lives and do what they wanted, because he knew that Twelve is similar to him. And I like to think that Necro's word DID get to Twelve, and that Twelve was victorious on their battle, but decided to go agaisnt his own programming and orders to let Necro and Effie escape, to eventually gain his own sentience (Twelve's arcade ending) and free will, all thanks to Necro

I just like the characters of SF3rd Strike for their eccentricity and Necro in fact among them. If the problem with the character so that he doesn't come back is that his gameplay is too close to Dhalsim or Blanka (which they are already present in SF6), to differentiate him I had the idea either that Effie course of the fight accompanies Necro's attacks (in the manner of R Mika) or else as Necro is a mutant making him undergo new mutation made him obtain new movements (example can now transform his hands into blades or something kind), right?

Thousands of years ago, Japanese arcades would hold low tier tournaments & necro was considered too solid a character for a low tier ranbat: hugo, alex, remy, ibuki, dudley, 12, Q, and sean were the usual suspects. Necro was in a class with dudley, makoto, urien, elena, ken, gouki and denjin ryu: not top tier, but they have everything they need to beat top tier characters. yun, yang, and chun were considered the top tier.

I obviously love Sean so no need to go any further there.
I like Cody a lot, probably has one of the best (if not the best) arcs in Street Fighter. Would love to see him come back for 6 (though he's not a huge priority tbh)
I neither like nor dislike Vega but he's easily the least developed of the Four Kings at this point and I hope he gets his own 'SF5 Balrog' treatment soon. I think Vega in a post-Shadaloo world could actually be super interesting.
I also like Ed a lot, think he got a bad rap in SF5 but at the same time his default costume was rough. I'm already super excited to see more of him in 6 just based off his redesign alone.
Guy is cool but tbh I tend to lean towards the other Bushinryu people more because I just find them more interesting. That's not a knock against Guy though as being stoic and all that is his thing but yeah, I just think he's decent and nothing really more.

In general I dislike stretching powers because they gross me out. But that only applies to people that look like humans. Since Necro looks like he's made of taffy or something, he doesn't gross me out so much. Haha.

Being "from SFIII" isn't a sufficient explanation of why he isn't that popular, considering how popular other SFIII cast members have become. I feel it's more that, among SFIII's cast, he's one of the characters people just failed to connect with. He's not a immediately crowdpleasing design like (the twins, Ibuki, Makoto or Elena), has an awkward playstyle that doesn't really see much representation in competitive play and doesn't have that sort of "X-factor" like designs like Q.

SF3 was my first street fighter game, and Necro was my main in that game. Blanka is my main these days in SF4 and 5(which I barely play), and he will be my main in SF6 as well.
That being said Necro or Twelve don't fit into the SF universe and I would rather fill up a spot with one of the other human-esque characters.

This is a weird take. I don't think necro hasn't come back because of his story, or that people don't care. Do you think they brought Oro back because of his compelling story? No, they brought him back because his gameplay is interesting. Necro was a dhalsim replacement, with more of a focus on offense. However, Capcom has already made Dhalsim much more offensive in 5 and probably 6 as well, so that kind of leaves necro without a unique fighting style / identity. That's why I think he hasn't come back.

    • @scotiaviii
      @scotiaviii  Před rokem +4

Never said he hadn’t come back because of his story, I said that his story was a reason why he should come back. And I mean yeah, if enough people cared about him I’m sure Capcom would have brought him back ages ago. That’s how popularity works lol.

I agree, I think his playstyle is just not as fun as others. his mix up moves are very slow, and because of his stretchy arms everyone thinks he should be played from a distance (my self included back then). I would love for them to bring him back for SF 6. I think a redesigned move set would be really cool too. I think he should play like a long range grappler, like Omega Red from Xmen COTA, or Swamp Thing in Injustice 2. he would use his stretchy arms to grab the opponent and then he could throw them, or shock them (similar to Omega Red) And for God's sake speed up his overhead and Low special moves.
