Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI prices OUT!
1.0 TSI MT Active - Rs 10.69 lakh
1.0 TSI MT Ambition - Rs 12.39 lakh
1.0 TSI AT Ambition - Rs 13.59 lakh
1.0 TSI MT Style (non-sunroof) - Rs 13.59 lakh
1.0 TSI MT Style (sunroof) - Rs 13.99 lakh
1.0 TSI AT Style - Rs 15.39 lakh
(All prices are ex-showroom)
Is there turbo lag in slow speed with 1.0 TSI MT ?
Do they all have sun roof except for the one mentioned non sunroof
Just awesome pricing.
Finally. Honda city cancelled, buying Slavia.
What about the 1.5L
Guys, just think like this:
A Sedan is more comfortable, has a better ride quality, has better handling, has lesser body roll, has more boot space and is also cheaper than an SUV.
SUVs, on the other hand, are becoming more and more expensive day by day. For me, an SUV without AWD or 4WD doesn't make sense. I might choose an SUV for better ergonomics (practicality), higher ground clearance, and most importantly, AWD or 4WD capability, which you might not get in a sedan. Sure, I agree, Sedans and SUVs have their own pros and cons.
BUT GUYS, PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES, JUST DON'T SPEND 20 LAKH OR MORE FOR AN SUV, BECAUSE EVERYONE ARE GETTING ONE (I've seen many people buying Creta, Seltos, and Hector like that, including my close friend and are dissatisfied).
We have already killed some beautiful sedans in our country (Civic, Corolla, accord, jetta, passat, ETC.) 😣☹😭.
Even many are now on the verge of extinction (Camry, Superb, Octavia, City, Amaze, Verna, Ciaz, Elantra, ETC.)
Companies are even not thinking of bringing sedans now. SKODA AND VW still have faith on us. Thanks to SKODA and VW for finally bringing sedans (SLAVIA & VIRTUS) in this huge SUV jungle.
PLEASE, think once before buying an SUV spending more than 20 lakh. I'm sure, you might have your own reasons, but once check a Sedan also before buying anything.
PLEASE do not kill sedans any more.
TRUE SEDAN LOVERS/ENTHUSIASTS, HIT THE LIKE BUTTON, TRUE SEDAN HATERS, HIT THE DISLIKE BUTTON. LET'S SEE HOW MANY ACTUALLY LIKE SEDANS AND HOW MANY LIKE SUVs.
I've just shared my opinion, you all are open to comment on this.
many buy suv b'cause of 7 seats they probabaly might not use
@@siddhantrs4545 lol, only 4 ft. People can sit on the 3rd row🤣
@@siddhantrs4545 more than 90% SUV sales come from pseudo SUVs like Creta/Seltos, etc...which are all 5 seater...
👍
To be honest, highways in India are getting better day by day. There is always an argument. city has pothole so buy compact SUV. Compact SUV is not solution. Asking for better road is solution. You are paying money for better in the form of road tax. This is why I ditched Tata Harrier over Honda City because there is 8 lakh rupees difference. I can put that much worth of petrol. With 165 mm GC, 5th Gen City has never touched bottom so far. Slavia would certainly fly past those pothole.
I just wish indians realised how much practical sedans are than those pseudo SUVs meandering on our indian roads. Not everyone has to do 50kms of offroading to reach their destination. Sedans are the true cars leading every aspect be it performance, comfort or space.
Skoda nailed it this time city finally has some competition
City was not even in competition with this cutie
You have balls to buy this...
City sales have dropped drastically for last 10 years already. This will only make things more difficult for Honda india.
The ground clearance is what makes people going towards the suvs which the slavia more or less solves really well
Yes it beats Honda City
Driving a 8 year old 1.6L Vento still keeps me in awe of European brand. A job well done with Slavia and Virtus is also a beast in making. Maybe will upgrade my Vento to Virtus or Slavia soon
In india SUVs are popular because we like that high seating position and that feeling of owning an "SUV". Unfortunately in pursuit of that, we have forgotten the amazing feels of comfort and practicality of a sedan.
I being Owner of SKODA SLAVIA feel that, its ULTIMATE SEDAN with 179mm Ground Clearance. It's SIMPLY WOW.
Blindly go ahead with SLAVIA. U will not regret.
❤Skoda is one of the most lovable European car manufacturing company. The reason why Skoda is in Indian market is because of quality, Safety and performance.
Hope they put the same efforts in after sales & services
A higher ground clearance is good on our roads but bad for what some one wants from a sedan i.e. sharp handling & less body roll
Slavia & Virtus will dominate autocar drag race soon 😍🔥
Rapid & Vento will be loved and remembered in our hearts always ❤️❤️❤️
Tdi will be missed
I’m waiting for the 1.5L. That’ll be a ferocious beast 😃
That red paint shade in the Slavia is so premium and it just feels so high quality
Lovely review . I think with the kind of transformation we are seeing in the roads infrastructure , specially the multiple incoming expressways, it makes more sense to buy a sedan than an SUV, and there is hardly any competitor which is better than Skoda when it comes to ride quality.
cough cough honda city
Going to book this car within couple of months, was going to book Verna first but this car has my heart now.
Rear seat space is problem in verna
Finally, something with proper space and doesn't have the weight or ride issues of these SUVs.
I own a Rapid, a great car but looking at this makes me feel to upgrade it to Slavia
Check the Slavia in the showroom and you will start appreciating the Rapid more. Yes, it’s bigger in size compared to the Rapid, but the Rapid is Skoda vs Slavia that’s Skoda compromised (or should I say Vision IN)
Don't.
Me too on the same boat, but wait for the real time mileage figures.
The ground clearance is commendable!
You know what's the problem with today's car market?
Too many SUVs 😐
Waiting for the 1.5 Litre 7 speed DSG!! Skoda has done great with this product!
8:10 the engine sound was so nice to hear👌👌
Where is that location?
Whichever car is launched. It's a joy to see your review first. It's like a good coffee
13:56 the imperfections makes this channel perfect.
Best in segment for sure..
Waiting for the 1.5L review
Feeling proud that city n slavia will bring back the glory of sedans in terms of overall package such as build quality safety practicality reliability peppy petrol engines comfort and best in segment space .
Please also do explain how the AC works in 1lt engine and whether the acceleration dips on switching on the AC
Will the 1.5tsi variant be more powerful than the Honda city 2022 ? I’m deciding between the top end Honda city 2022 or the 1.5 slavia
As Renuka said, it definitely brings the sexy back. Skoda has a winner in their hands. Looks like a complete package. Excellent review too. Kudos.
The Youth ( Slavia) can walk faster, but the Elder ( City) knows the road .
It's an impressive car, it maybe a hit or miss depending on the pricing
The ideal one, to me it's the perfection a sedan can achieve and maximum a buyer can expect or dream about. Great car.......!!
Is the automatic transmission a Torque Converter, DCT or CVT?
Go for good sedans like this or city rather than compressed SUVs
Sire, I salute you. Stupid cramped suv are just worst thing since the invention of automobile.
Lets call compressed SUVs just cars shaped like SUVs. Theres no 4WD, space is average, the feel of cars like Seltos is dull.
Crossovers
City is too low..just went to Manali in November and it kept thuding again and again..on good roads, City is a gem to drive..most people buy compact SUV's for the ground clearance, whether to wade through monsoon rains or drive to mountains
Great Video. Happy that a few companies are still giving us great sedans while the others only care about SUVs. Really impressed with the car, love almost everything about it. I just wonder why Skoda (VW in general) is making it’s car look back-heavy. We’ve seen this in the Octavia and now the Slavia. Whether this is for rear impact protection or simply to increase its length, I’m surely not used to seeing a Euro Sedan look back-heavy when seen from the side!
Nice Review..
Very Good information 👌👌👌
Awesome car, Skoda nailed it
First of all love the colour red of the new Skoda Slavia ( Skoda India has considerably improved the paint finish)😍, I just hope that they improve the overall fit and finish like in the boot and offer a premium sound system!
The paint is such pristine!
I request each and everyone wanting to book this car to PLEASE WAIT FOR THE CITY HYBRID and decide once the prices of that are revealed. It would most likely be slightly more powerful not to mention INCREDIBLY FUEL EFFICIENT.
1.0 tsi Engine is German Marvel
I drive polo 1.0 tsi ! and Its enough to put a smile on your face
Features like MLD and RWD should also give people confidence to buy sedans along with decent GC
Looks great, I am happy with my Red Kushaq, but sedan lovers can go for Slavia. Happy with Skoda service.
the 1.5tsi will be the enthusiast choice, the 1.5 should have been offered with a manual
It is being offered with a 6 speed manual but the 1.5 TSI launches on 3rd March. Along with a 7 speed DSG.
Its available.
It does
At these prices, a Honda city is much more powerful, refined, comfortable and reliable, not to mention the lower maintainence costs. Whoever decided the pricing must be overconfident.
Purchased a venue for almost 11 lakhs , worst choice ever to go for a so called sun compact suv segment , doesn’t have the robustness of a proper suv , not the comfort or space of a sedan and didn’t come for the price of a hatchback.
Love the vehicle. Also shout out to autocar team for introducing chapters here. Makes watching videos so much fun
Thank You sooo much VW & Skoda for bringing some quality & fun to drive sedans to the Indian Market… #SAVETHESEDANS
Well-built well-equipped most spacious performance rich Super Skoda
"it is bringing sexy back to sedans" absouletly ✌️✌️✌️
Good review, and she casually did explain well .... I am a SHHHHHHKOOOOODA Fan....
Hi nice review thanks. Had a question - does it have Side impact beams ? As Virtus mentions it has side impact beams. Any comments on this . Thanks again
@ 16 LA WHAT BETTER OPTIONS DO WE HAVE?
Priced pretty close or on similar range as the Honda City. Mainly ZX Manual and Style MT with Sunroof are closely priced. People choosing MT between these two will have a tough time deciding, Czech or Japanese?
Autocar video quality 👌
Can i know fluid tank capacity of skoda slavia which is not mentioned in the dimensions
How is the cabin sound levels when driving on highways and expressway at 100 kmph speeds.? Secondly what is the realistic fuel average in city and on highways
How is the clutch, light or hard!??
I really wish it to be the great hit, we have Škoda Rapid and it’s absolutely amazing even after 10 years.
How about Steering Feel and Feedback....
Also 1L TSI MT Taigun Drive....
People who may not have patience or driving skills on the Indian roads, go for SUVs but Sedan's are the actual Car's ❤ Slavia is one perfect sedan
What a beauty. And Renuka blanking on the sunroof is soo relatable. Lol.
13:10 what a wonderful view 😍
1.0 TSI vs 1.5 i-VTEC is going to be a great rivalry in the sedan space now onwards.
Slavia is going to boost sale of Sedan cars 🚗
Skoda has nailed it
Skoda is the only brand in the "Affordable" price range, which makes old school good looking sedans.
City & Slavia would rule Sedan Segment
Top variant (1.5 L) with the price 20+ L is very economical.
Powerful engine (147 bhp) with good torque.
Spacious cabin with sunroof
Good choice.
Skoda are one of the very manufacturers that still care about the sedan genre..... I wouldn't mind paying a little etc to skoda if I was to buy a sedan
Does 1.0 TSI AT Style comes with 6 AIR BAGS?
Renuka madam nothing to say about your review for skoda slavia, I gone mad by seeing the design, this will give blockbuster sales for Czech republic legend Skoda, stay always blessed madam 👍🙂❤️
It looks impressive
Spot on Marshal
What is safety rating of Skoda slavia?Did it go for Global ncap test??
with the pricing out , Honda city would be the happiest , every hope of having this car priced right has now gone down the drain, If i were to pick one Honda city would be my pick !
Agreed. 1.0 3 cylinder TSI shouldn't have been priced at ~15 Lakhs. Honda city with its 1.5L 4 cylinder engine and better reliability is the better option for the price in my humble opinion. Slavia is still quite good though imo.
Sedan or SUV which is good to buy?
In terms of comfort long drive, ingress & egress for old people?
It is reallly a great car boot space is so huge it can accommodate one more large bag looks of the car are bold indeed
No one is going to talk about how similar the look is to the Octavia ?
I own a civic and I feel like driving a CAR,not a box like modern day fake suv
Which Slavia 1 ltr is more engaging to drive, MT or AT?
My dream car
The bloopers were just so funny
Thanks for this review. I got convinced and booked a honda city now
great choices
and slavia 1.0 tsi is slower than city
👍🏼 for Renuka !
Base of mature sedans like this anyday over top trims of those funny little boxes of sonet or venue
CNG kab aa rahi hai?
So Nice ❤️
The most practical car for every day use
Except the expensive services cost.
Its lot cheaper
Get the ₹24k for 4 years service package
It’s cheaper to maintain as it’s locally manufactured
The Best Auto journalist for me. Honest, spot-on and attention to detail and sophisticated content guaranteed from her. Much love Ma'am
Waiting for 1.5 tsi manual
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
My favorite host!
No one does better car review than renuka. She should do podcasts.
Skoda is going to hit and is Best segmet for Sedan
Plz bring the 1.5ltr review soon
Thousandth like . 👍
The car is beautiful no doubt but the 'digital' cluster will be a constant reminder of the cost cutting that the VAG group has to make. I mean look at how much space there actually is in the cluster and how small the display is compared to the available area. I was really happy that the Kushaq didn't get it as the analog dials of Skoda are quite pretty and in my opinion look better than this new low-quality display.
It’s call nit picking..
The way of delivering knowledge about cars is an art and Autocar india has full command in it 🙏🏻
Bloopers❤️👌
Wonderful review. Well summarized Renuka. However the rear seat review in terms of leg space etc, from a taller person would be more accurate for car buyers..
At certain angle in the video, the bulge in the front and rear wheel arches are awkward. Needs a visit to the showroom to check that. The aggressive front is good. The wider rear end is good for Indian market to carry more luggage or luggage+pet(s) if the boot gets enough ventilation. After many years, Skoda has this segment up for grabs.
