Wracking my brain trying to figure out why others could hear me, but I couldn't hear them. This video corrected that problem. THANK YOU!

I sold a motorcycle to buy the radio as it was my second dream radio, Yaesu FT817ND was my first. I seem to have an attraction to radios that are discontinued right after I buy them. Thanks for the video as I generally just use the programming software to program my radios. BUT, if I am in the field without my laptop it is always VERY helpful to remember how to program the radio by hand. 73!!!

Just bought one. Brand new in its original packing. Wonderful radio. It's to replace my faulty FT100d which is virtually the same but 23 years old with vhf uhf Rx faults plus several other problems. But still usable on HF. Good radio. Easy to program manually, won't be buying a program lead. Just acquired the cat lead. Cat failed on the ft100. That lead is in use on the ft450d. . Overall pleased with purchase at £400. Good deal.

That sounds like the automatic power off feature. Find it on Menu Mode 7. That means that the radio will turn off after a period of time not used.
