    Looking at my skid, the bolts holding down pump behind the shield look about impossible to get to, but I don't want to take off engine pulley like you said and have to remove entire shield, but heck, unless the bolts can be taken off from under the skid?
    it's 24 hp skid and 8.5 gpm 40 pound pump, shield is hella in the way of getting to the back pump mount bolts at all on top of skid plate

    Nice video. Because of your videos I going to replace my 3000psi 3.5gpm General pump to a 4000psi 4gpm Cat pump. I'm going to purchase the Slap Happy one that's already plumbed. Would replacing the pump be fairy straightforward? Do I need to know stem demenions before ordering and does your company cover any warranty issues or would I be referred to another company if a problem arises? Thanks.

    You made a statement about reinstalling the pump on this very machine in a follow-up video but this video doesn't exist. Was you unable to reinstall it and sent it out to be installed or simply chose not to make the video?

    2 questions. Can you install belts without removing or looseining pump? Next question after a pump replacement how do you make sure both pulleys are properly alligned?

    • @Spraywell
      @Spraywell  Před 9 lety +1

      Jason Smith Thank you for your question! Yes the belt can be installed without completely removing the pump. In this video the last 2 very long screws that I removed are referred to as "tension" screws. when you back those out while the pump is still connected it will relieve the tension on the belt allowing you to remove and reinstall the belt without having to take the whole pump off. Also sometimes if you look at the frame of your pump(the 'L' shaped metal brakets) one of the bolt holes may be a long hole which once you loosen these bolts will also allow the pump some play. As far as keeping the pulleys aligned that's a bigger question. The Motor pulley shouldn't be moved for the most part, do not loosen any engine bolts or that pulley. Instead we're going to focus on the pump side pulley. As your tightening your pump down and re-applying tension you probably have noticed the entire pump wants to shift toward the pulley(pulley pulls back toward the engine). The answer to this is a balancing act of sorts of loosening the L shaped brackets and tension screws and slowly tightening and readjusting them as you apply tension to the belt. You should be able to counteract the pump and pulley wanting to move this way. Good Luck!

      i was wondering if a belt "tensioner" is even needed. i have a 690 and tsf2120 pump. it has dual V belts

      Mine has 3 v belts and there are "tensioners" under the pump

  • @KevinSmith-my9mi
    @KevinSmith-my9mi Před 5 lety

    how do you adjust the tension on the belts?

    • @Spraywell
      @Spraywell  Před 5 lety

      some pumps have tension adjustment bolts underneath them, otherwise you have to use the position of the pump itself to adjust tension.

      Bring the old belts to a store that sells belts. Usually Napa auto is good with matching up belts. If you don't have a store locally, you can measure the belts, width and length, and order them online. They are just generic belts.
