I accompanied Rhoda Scott on the drums as a duo in the years 1992/93 over several months and on about twenty dates, I keep one of my best professional memories! We played really well together! in total relaxation, and she gave me great freedom in my drumming, plus a solo where I sang a little "scatt" ... She is a very great Artist with a feeling on edge, she sings remarkably well too, I wish her the best and if she reads me: I would like to tell her that I will always love her, with her kindness, her humility, her simplicity, her immense talent and her great spirituality...(by Didier D 'Agostino ,drummer-composer).
Hi Didier, your comment means a lot to me. What luck to have been able to accompany her, you must have had immense pleasure playing with her. She's so wonderful. Regards from France !
Rhoda Scott: The Pergolesi of the jazz organ. The basso continuo always sings as only Pergolesi could make it. And in this case, no shoes! Listened to Ms. Scott all the time growing up in Europe. Wow! What a fantastic musician! No one ever quite like her. Leo Depuydt
I love Rhoda Scott's technique. She was cutting edge back in the day, and she's still relevant, and as I understand, still touring! With the fickle nature of the music business being what it is, that says a lot about her, she's timeless!

My G-D that left hand sound. Exquiset.
Nothing like a Hammond baby

❤
That’s how to play walking bass - with your feet, of course.
A zene !
Bobby Timmons, are you listening up there? Rhoda is swinging your tune like crazy.
📡📡👍💎
Great, but playback, not live recording. She played (B3-C3) and on the stage Hammond E100 organ
Yes the sound is taken from her LP "Take a ladder".
Yea, drum fills don’t match up. I hear toms and there are no toms on the kit.
