Jim Smith One of a Kind (living room session 1991)

Jim Smith playing “One of a Kind” in my living room in Turnersville NJ 1991 (with my BFF Eleanor, sister Kim and neice Amber). He was the first artist I managed: a super cool singer/songwriter from Chapel Hill North Carolina. He used to play in a band called the Chickenwire Gang with a guy named Stu. Jim moved in with us in Turnersville NJ & I put together an amazing band to support him including my friends Glenn Alexander, Rob Miller & Shawn Pelton. We recorded demos in Philadelphia, had a special showcase at the Bitter End in NYC. We subsequently received multiple offers from record labels offering Jim a record deal. He was always very hesitant about becoming famous… scared really… and cool stuff started happening quick. And then one morning, he just disappeared. We never heard from him again.
