The rules make it nearly impossible to score a draw. First it's damage and effective grappling. If both of those are equal you go down to the next criteria which is effective aggression, if I am not mistaken. If that is exactly equal then you go down to octagon control. There could be no strikes thrown in the entire fight or take downs and you could still win in Octagon control alone in a totally uneventful fight. Case and point, Carla Esparza against Rose Namajunes.

Paddy 50-38 for me, I think he won the first 2 easily 10-7, and it was definitely the fight of the night, fight of the year probably. He was just a killing machine, he was so good that he turned black, braided and dyed his hair, and moved up to middleweight without anyone even knowing, how did he even do it?

hell no thatâs a terrible idea. do u realise how much additional time that would take? would make a lot more sense to increase the number of judges from 3 to 5 or even 7. best to not trivialise the judge position and leave it as simple as possible

Strickland spent the entire fight landing at will, making Jared constantly stumble around the cage, and evading almost every shot with fight ending intent. Strickland even landed near double the significant strikes.

Cannonier 141 vs Strickland 152. Very close. And I thought Cannonier clearly threw the more damaging strikes. Nevertheless, not a robbery by any means.

It was pretty easy to see that Jared was having a hard time getting inside and connecting with Sean and it looked to me like Sean picked Jared apart with the jab but I guess the leg kicks did it and the few hard shots that drew blood

Really close fight that could've gone either way. Once again we get another reminder for these fighters on why they shouldn't let it go to the judges scorecards, hopefully this encourages more finishes in the future for the roster.

How do two judges see the fight 46-49 for each side? Its like each of them saw two polar opposite fights. I thought Sean won by unanimous decision personally.

Jared punches where nothing, Armen, Semelsberger, and drew Dober showed you damage. Landing because you swing your whole body and not even getting a single knockdown liek cannoier is embarrassing to give him a round while he is doubled in head strikes
Sean had good pressure and octagon control, Jared was landing the heavier shots, I donât find it too hard to believe it could have been scored that way if the judge was maybe focusing on one more than the other, or maybe had a bit of a predisposition towards one of them. Not saying I agree, just a captain Morgan induced thought

Iâm highly against crying robbery, but this fight wasnât very close. Strickland wobbled Jared 5 times, had more clinch control, takedowns, checked lots of leg kicks, and landed more strikes. Jared had a little more Octogan Control from pressing forward but didnât do much with that pressure other than give Sean a bloody nose.

You are clueless, I think you were watching another fight. I don't remember Jared getting "Wobbled once" apart from a shot that hit his shoulder that knocked him off balance. Sean had no power behind a lot of them shots, Jared didn't even look like he'd been in a fight till round 5.

Nice to see Sean Strickland put up a gutsy performance especially after his last fight where he got brutally socked out. Yeah he lost but Sean Strickland is a tough dude. Bottom line is Sean won the fight. For those knocking him, Cannonier was welcome to come thru the jab anytime. All you had to do was see that slap fighting advertisement to know that the UFC and Dana White have jumped the shark and that money is motivating all things now, including judging decisions.
I only saw the last round, but Strickland easily won that round. It was not even close.
Cannonier landed a few good shots, but Strickland controlled the entire round. And answered the handful of shots that Cannonier landed in that round.
I was surprised by Stricklandâs side. Cannonier is suppose to be a big Middleweight but Strickland looked bigger and took advantage of his size. And Stricj
Based on what I saw in that round and how they carried themselves, it looked to me like Cannonier had no answers. And Strickland looked immensely confident.
