I realized half way through that I’d seen this video before. But since I love Hoyas I watched again.
😂😂 too funny Lisa thanks for watching AGAIN
I recently purchased a Hoya Carnosa specifically because it was blooming. Her flowers smelled like mint chocolate to me. The smell was simultaneously relaxing and intoxicating.
I love the Hoyas for the foliage but the blooms are a bonus.
Yes I feel the same
So much fun seeing you go from "I don't get the Hoya hype" to "I hope this video convinces you to try Hoya" ❤
😂😂right?! Who am I
I have a humidifier just in case I really need it for my Hoya. So far they are doing fine as well without one.😁
I love the blooms in any size and shape.
Yea It’s wild how much they vary..so many options
Hiya! Im 100% certain those were springtails. You need a microscope to see flatmites 😊
Thanks! One less thing to worry about😮💨
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants lovely collection beautiful
Aww thank you! And Thanks for watching💚
Thank you so much for doing Hoyas!!!!
Great video - indeed, informative and enjoyable! I'm a recent Hoya convert - mostly the small leaf varieties, which are still quite little, but look adorable on tiny trellises, and a few larger leafed plants that I like trailing. Here's hoping we all see some blooms this summer! Thanks for sharing your beauties! 💚👏🏽🪴👏🏽💚
Thanks so much I really appreciate hearing that and YES! A new Hoya lover😂
Beautiful hoyas!! Thank you for the information!!! 🙋🏼♀️💚🪴🌿
Thank you! Hope it was helpful
My hoya pubicalyx bloomed yesterday while i was at work, and just by walking into my home i could smell that it bloomed before i even got to see the plant! (The smell is very floral and a little parfumie, but i loved it) the smell of my obovata and mathilde have very sweet settle smells
Wow it’s that strong?! Thanks me too🙌🏽
Love that your a Jacks user, I’m die hard Jacks aka Peters fertilizer. I use the 15-30-15 for all my tropicals. Nice Hoya collection, if you like fuzzy Hoyas need to get the Villosa you’d love it, if you don’t already have it. I use super thrive as a foliar feed an the Hoyas seem to like it. Hope you do part two to show all of your Hoya💚💚💚
I don’t have the villosa..it’s amazing! I love the texture.. I had to look it up😂 deff adding that to my list..interesting that you use super thrive as foliar spray..I’ve been thinkin about trying a foliar spray
Your burtonea looks beautiful with the sun stressing
Thanks Lisa!
Great Hoyas to your collection. Thanks for sharing!
No problem! Thanks!!
You have a beautiful collection! Thanks for showing them off. 🌿🩷
Thanks soo much!
Hoya Mathilde was my favorite! 😊
Oo yes love that one
So I just got a hoya bella this weekend & was told its blooms smell like chocolate. There’s other hoya that their blooms have a specific scent to them. The linearis is my favorite as well! 🥰
I’ve heard that as well. Isn’t it so soft I love it lol
Your plants all look so pretty!!! Your Kerii splash is so pretty. I am happy you were able to catch the pests living on your baby. I love the idea of the blooms. They are so exciting.!
Thank you thank you!! I actually have 3 starting bloom now it’s so exciting!!🙌🏽😍😭
I like to grow my Hoyas trailing and trellised depending on the plant
My hoyas vary in smells from candy (chocolate, smarties) to very floral (gardenias, roses). I've also found that the smaller the flower the stronger the scent! Since I've moved from Dallas to the PNW that has more humidity in general (I don't have to run the AC in the house except for maybe 2 weeks out of the year) I've found that my hoyas that have never bloomed are just blooming like crazy. I would definitely consider giving them more humidity. Glad to see the burtonae and matilde doing a glow up from last year. :D
Interesting! Cooler temps and more humidity huh and yes I love them so much🥹😍
The linearis is my top wishlist hoya
I loooove mine so soft and very fast grower
Dynagro is a good one. I’ve seen a lot of CZcamsrs and instagram people talk about it
Me too..It’s deff on my list to look into
Great video! Love hoya!
Thanks!💚
I like your dog😂
Thanks for sharing your experience with hoyas. All of mines are outside bcz of some movement & renovations not completed on my new stand. They are potted in potting soil mixed with bark, perlite & charcoal. A few bloomed like my Hoya Pubicalyx Red, Hoya Kerrii, Hoya Incrassata, Hoya Krinkle 8 & Hoya Obscura.
Wow you have so many great Hoyas blooming! I hope to have some bloom this year too🙌🏽
You are soooo right about blasting them with light. I have all of my Hoyas on my window sill and they have so much growth! I can’t wait to get my hands on the Linearis.
Ooo you’ll love the linearis ..such a fast grower very satisfying to grow
I havent had many Hoyas bloom, but the ones I have experienced all smell different. Carnosas with the pink flowers smells just like tootsie rolls! I cant explain kronhiana well, but its definitely more floral. Like a weird mix of cat pee and roses 😂😅
😂😂 not cat pee with roses tho! I can imagine that tho so thank you for the great description! My khroniana is starting the bloom so I’ll have a good reference.
Hi, love your interactions with Mia. Thanks for always keeping us informed. Love your collection. I have two that are blooming now out of my 18 and can't wait to see more. Love the Mathilde and would love to add to my collection.
Aww thanks that’s my baby girl lol you’ll love the mathilde it’s adorable and super easy
Hello. I have just found your channel. You have a very calming voice to listen to. I have searched a few of your videos, just wondering if you have a video of how much water you put in your no drainage pots. I am just figuring this out and experimenting with it.
Wow Thank you so much! I wanna say possibly these videos I’ve linked below. But I can say usually I only fill it 1/3 of the way up..usually below the roots..If it’s a recently planted or transplanted plant I try not to submerge the roots in water..eventually tho the roots do grow down into bottom where it will be submerged in water. Most not all plants don’t mind.

I would have voted for Anthuriums 😂. I am new to them and have gotten some beautiful hybrids and full breads. We’ll see how my journey goes🤞🏾😣☺️
Lol hope it goes well! There some great hybrids out there! That’s one genus I’m jus not confident in..like I don’t think they’re as hard as they seem but then again I’m jus not sure ya know
I use Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro and my hoyas are doing great. Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection
Absolute best fertilizer I’ve ever used
Haven’t tried it yet.. I’ll have to check it out
The linearis blooms were different than what I thought. I thought was like a hoya retusa. Single blooms
Hmm not sure..I believe I found the pics in IG
My one and only bloom had no smell it was literally one bloom out of the 12 I started with. This was my Hoya multiflora
Multi flora has no smell.
Interesting..those blooms are really cool to see tho!
A few of mine bloomed for the first time this year. Lacunosa was the strongest - a floral perfume but I found it quite pleasant. Carnosa compacta had a lighter scent, like sweet chocolate. Sunrise had a lighter perfume scent. I don’t recall what wayettii smelled like. Multi flora has basically no scent. Brevialata was very faint, not memorable. My Mathilde is trying to bloom and I have heard terrible descriptors (like cat pee!) for that one.
Update: I like mathilde! It’s spicy like ylang ylang oil.
😂I heard that too! And that’s awesome you’ve had so many bloom already!
My one and only Hoya to bloom had no smell to subscribe.
Aww man
I’ve heard that azamax works for the mites
Oh yea.. I’ll have to look into that..I hear you can treat a lot with azamax
Azamax is supposed to work as well as sulfer treatment without being all splotchy white.
Oh that’s good to know cuz I don’t care for the residue I see it leaves behind
You forgot the blooms on the linearis.
I’m going to try miracle grow bloom booster 10-52-10. What do you think?
I know miracle grow isn’t popular among many plant people and I don’t usually use it but this middle number is really high
Not knowing Hoya bloom scent is so frustrating! People's noses are so different; the only way to know is to experience them yourself.
Most of mine have floral scents that I'm not good at describing. Roses, jasmine, hyacinth all come to mind. My sp aff Burtoniae smells like melted butter & my Lisa has smelled like cherry lollipop and hot chocolate
Very true but those are some good descriptions! I actually have 3 Hoyas starting bloom 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I can’t wait to smell them😂
Genera is the plural of genus
Thanks!
Oops I forgot how I like my Hoyas. Most are trailing that have got to the point of trailing. But two are up on a trellis.
Nice! I think I prefer trailing also
My understanding is that the mites that have been decimating some people’s Hoya growth are not visible to the naked eye. But I’m no expert. Perhaps I missed something.
I think you’re right..I’ve heard that as well..I jus be so unsure sometimes
My lights must not be bright enough because I have a few hoyas that like to sun stress but aren't.
Ohh then yup I’d try bumping it up to a stronger light or moving it closer to the light.
Just an fyi, you can’t see mites with the naked eye… you need a microscope.
Yes! I was thinking that too
