- Factory Five Racing '35 Truck - On The Road!
It's been a few months since our last update - but the Factory Five truck has been great! The tune is close to perfect, and we have been wrapping up the last few specifics before it goes home! One of the major things we've been waiting on is the title and registration which just came in! So the February 2019 Cars and Coffee Lubbock is it’s first debut on public roads!

this is my favorite factory 5 build I've ever seen
That engine bay is spotless 👍. And plumbed properly
Thank you Max, it really came together almost as well as planned!
So simple and so powerful!!!! Something to consider!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! I LOVE THE TRUCK!!!!! Great video and education. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for that! They are a ton of fun to both build and drive!
Dang!!! I love this truck, I definitely want this kit
This is one of the best kit cars.
I yearn for this truck!
Omgeezy look at that truck!!
So cool!
Beautiful
Omg, that truck man, that red wood tho, 😍
, that rear boot spoiler…did its job and spoiled everything
Dope *aye eff*
man that truck looks clean.... super awesome..... hope to see a lot more of your videos.
Appreciate the kind words! We have lots of car stuff in the pipeline and will be dropping a handful of those videos the next several weeks, and some random things I do as well!
Nice truck. Kudos for driving it in the rain.
Thank you Tommy, we're really happy with how it came together!
Damn you all did an amazing job on that truck. The 35 truck is the FF that I have always liked I mean it can be finished up so many different styles and it's just a great looking truck no matter your style. This truck you all hit the nail on the head though is has all the style..
We really enjoyed building it, out of all the different FF cars we've done, this one is hands down my personal fav!
Sweet
Maybe it's my age but I would choose one of those over a super car any day. The cool factor is off the charts
sick truck!! Building a 818c myself
Right On
Thanks Tyler, hope you enjoyed the video!
Tony Maples Awesome Video
The crazy thing is how nobody cared about the truck. You would’ve thought that it would be surrounded nonstop
I agree, it did get a decent amount of attention when we first unveiled it, but at this point it had been about 4 months since we revealed it at Sema, and the majority of the people around town had already seen the truck. We have it back in our shop now so I'll be doing a couple more videos on it in the coming weeks, hopefully make up for the low quality on some of these old videos 🤣
Thanks for taking us for a ride.
I see some of your photos made it onto FFR web page. That's quite an honor for you.
Any plans for another FFR 35 build ?
I hope so! We're now authorized FFR builders so hopefully they send some customers our way!
@@TonyMaples That is good news for you and the company.
@@VideosByAl we've had a fantastic relationship with the guys at FFR, and their kits are great so we're definitely happy to build some more!
I have always wanted the 35’ from Factory Five, it would be awesome to buy and build myself and put a nice engine in
They are fantastic kits! While we do have several people, years of experience, and a shop full of tools at our disposal, these are 100% something you can buy and build in your garage. We've built several since this, and currently have 2 in the shop we're building for customers. They have gotten very popular!
Tony Maples Yes I thought about doing a kit and building it with my dad, as a project after he retires and for a show vehicle for me. We have a spare LS2 sitting in the garage that would make a nice powerplant!
Is there a more in depth review on this build? sweet ride!
I do have a playlist with all of the videos we did on this build - forgive the audio in some of them, the old shop had some noisy ballasts!

Hey guys! Nice work! I pick my kit up in april...cant wait! I am a big fan of your rear defuser ,did you build it or can I purchase one somewhere?
Search Black Label Speed Shop on Facebook and shoot Jeff a message. He makes and sells them! Tell him Tony sent ya 👌🏼
I fucking love this truck! Hope I’m able to get one day!
Hope you're able to too! They are a blast to build and lots of fun to drive 👌🏼
Beautiful truck! Needs two things: two right side tires!
I hate the asymmetrical tread! Good tires, but it looks so wrong 😂
Great job, my 35 truck is ready to be a roller. What wheels and tires are you running?
Nice truck...what kind of white is it? Is that stripe graphite in color?? So the engine as well?
Fantastic ride! Is that Cook's Garage in Lubbock?
That's right!
Waynes World party time excellent, Waynes World.
How does it handle in rain with big front tires? Awesome looking truck. I want one
Never driven in a complete downpour, but did "ok" on this morning. Thanks for the kudos!
I like how you acted like you was all over it at the end, and got passed lol
Seriously, those BMWs are no joke 😂😂
This one does not get wot on public roads. Especially that one, it's VERY slick through there. I do have a few other videos of us driving a bit harder on the autocross, it's much happier out on the concrete at the old air force base!
Beautiful build! ... fast question, without the fenders do you notice a lot of rocks getting thrown up at the windshield? I'd love to build my own and I was wondering if getting the fenders would make it easier to daily drive without the worry of breaking my windshield lol
So we haven't particularly noticed rocks hitting the windshield on either the '33 or the '35. However we did just put on a new set of BFGs for autocross at GoodGuys this past weekend. Driving it around in the RV parking lot I did get pelted with several small rocks through the passenger window. So although we haven't had any serious issues like a chip/crack I'd say it is a possibility. Thanks for the kudos and let us know if you have any other questions!
Awesome thank you for the response! ... it may be a while but I want to build a 35 truck from FFR myself so keep the videos coming and I'll keep drooling haha
@@erikrounds5847 haha well I'll have one up this week of us at the autocross, may be later in the week, have to get the Lotus back together asap!
Great! I'm subscribed 👌🏻
@@erikrounds5847 awesome 🤙 hope you enjoy following along!
Awesome truck
I prefer full guards and hood but otherwise awesome.
😈😈😈😈😈
Thanks Max! I actually really like it with the hood too, just doesn't exactly fit with this setup 🤣 hope you enjoyed the video!
@@TonyMaples
Factory five makes it easy to build a car or truck that has OEM quality for the masses.
And with the latest fuel injected four barrel type carburettors good on fuel and emissions.
😈😈😈😈
what color are those wheels they are sick and what is the offset
Small hood on top, showed both side
Thinking about the 33 couple how do you go about getting registered
That's a bit of a complicated question depending on the state and local laws. Here in Texas, to get a kit car registered you simply need an ASE Master Tech to sign off on the car as being road worthy, and the rest is about the same. However there are horror stories when it comes to registering them in certain states. The best advice I can give is talk to one of the guys at FFR about the specific process for your state and hopefully they can help!
no windshield wipers, how much did you pay for the inspection?
A lot of times these cars can be grandfathered in because it's a 35. You have to get an actual 35 title to do that but I did that with my 40 ford
How is this truck for taller passengers? Is it big enough for 6'6" people.
If you don't mind telling me brand of the rims, size, model number, and tires. I'm planning on buying an Willys Jeep after building a muscle/race truck. I want to get the same rims or something similar
These are from Boze Alloys, 18x12 all the way around. I'll have to ask about the offset as I don't remember right off hand! Tires are 335/30s.
guys, the body line below the rear window looks to have a curve to it , is this right??
Right, that's how they are supposed to be. We've built several of these and I really hate that curve myself, wish it was straight, but the original '35 truck came like this so the kit has left that design aspect in place.
Wait this is in Lubbock? That’s cooks garage!
That's right! Our customer had us build this this for SEMA 2018, here in Lubbock. Thanks for watching!
"road legal"
No bumpers
No fenders
No wipers
Yeah... Uhhhh... What road are we talkin bout here?
Badass truck tho 👌👍
😂 Or mufflers, reflectors, horns, front signals etc., but it's registered, inspected and insured!
Crap, I get hassled because my tires stick out 2 inches from my fenders.
@@Dialysisforever dang that's ridiculous! Where are you from? Around here basically every big truck has tires halfway out from the fenders, and local law enforcement is very lenient. If the vehicle has current inspection/registration and isn't a danger to other drivers, they don't bother you.
@@TonyMaples I live in Oregon.
Same ones all those other ratrods travel on... 👌
how much did this whole build cost, start to complete finish
The customer had a very "no expense spared" mindset, so parts cost was pretty high! The total build was around $150k
Any chance you could share wheels/tire specs? Brand, diameter, width, offset, etc?
They are Boze Alloys, 18x12 all the way around. I'll have to ask about the offset as I don't remember right off hand! Tires are 335/30s.
Where did you get the rear tail for the bed?
That's a custom spoiler we make at Black Label Speed Shop, we also make the diffuser 🤙🏼
@@TonyMaples thanks.
@@TonyMaples also does it have 20s on it? And what’s the offset?
Cooks Garage...Lubbock, Texas
That's right! Very cool venue and owners, we've worked with them many times 👌🏼
@@TonyMaples I live in Big Spring...I was over there a couple of weekends ago!! love it!! Boss lady (Mitzi(?) gave me a tour of their shop!! nice photography!!
They are good people, and thank you!
What size tires are on it
335/30s on Boze Alloys, 18x12 all the way around
Should I be worried or you impressed that I got a chub looking at that truck?
''It s road legal officer''...
yep, but you parked on handicap parking spot so .......GOTCHAAAAA...
😂 This is a local restaurant and automotive venue - for events they close down and stage the show cars on this lot, while leaving their front lot open for public parking. Just a coincidence they had us park in that spot. Thanks for the comment and laugh!
God bless America - that truck would be illegal in most countries - especially the UK and Europe even haha
It would be in quite a few states too haha. Texas has always been one of the best states for kit cars and specialty vehicles. Even when I imported my Skyline it was a breeze!
More engine less music 😒
Needs different size wheels & a stance
Meh. Might as well make it a flatbed.
Sweet
REALLY COOL !
now double the rear tire size...LOL
