I saw the 2017 eclipse in Goodlettsville, TN. Most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed. Be sure to look at the ground too while it’s happening…there are rippling waves of light circling around.

We had one when Donnie was sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Remember, he walked out and stared at it.
Ever wonder what's happening on the other side of a eclipse like if the sun is reflecting back to itself?
It's a full moon. The sun is where that light comes from. Eclipses just mean we're lined up with the one part of the sky that's in the moon's shadow. (Ore vice-versa with the more-common lunar eclipses where it's our shadow on the moon.)
When we see the full moon, that's just noon on the part of the moon facing us. Its days and nights are each 14 Earth days long, matching very closely with when it goes around us.

What is it with all these people freaking out about this eclipse claiming it only happens every 300 years or so? Hate to break your heart but there is a total eclipse at least once every 18 months. People thinking it a rare phenomenon haven't broadened their mind outside their borders of where ever they live. We had a solar eclipse back in 2017 and before that another total eclipse in 1979 ( USA experience). People mistake what the characteristics of a total solar eclipse and annual solar eclipse is. Either way depending on where you are in the world you will experience it different than others. Scientists are saying the US will experience this again in another 20 years.

Saw it on the campus of the University of Missouri in 2017. It was breathtaking. Photos don’t to it justice. Fingers crossed for clear skies this year over the Indy Motor Speedway 🤞

2 to 5 solar eclipses occur each and every year. I've seen 3 in my life so far, this coming eclipse being the 4th. Solar eclipses are in no way "rare".
