Great video I just wanted to add one thing. You do not want to adjust your lights to high that will be blinding to oncoming traffic. Big hazard that I am seeing these days is that these LEDs are adjusted up too high so that they are blinding to oncoming traffic!
I found the best way to adjust headlights is to be like 25 feet away from a wall, such as a cinderblock wall on level ground and adjust the upper line of your headlight, not the lower.
I put some eagle halo lights in mine. Was 200 versus 700 for the Indian ones. The 200 does just as well. Good video and install
Everyone is going LED while I'm trying go acetylene carbide 🕯️
It is brighter for sure. Good job on the install and review with compare the 2.
Thanks Greg!
Great job on the install. The LED light is much much better and brighter. Can see a lot more in front of you and to the side. 🤙🤘
Thanks!
👍 very bright for the money. Look better to
I just installed these on my 2012 Road king Police Model. I had to do som splicing to accommodate my passing lamps.
How is the brightness to you?
Hey I really like the before & after video. My passing lights go off when the head light is on high beam.
Someone added his and I would say they wired his up differently then yours are. Would you prefer they stayed on the whole time?
Lights look good mate, led make such a difference, I also rewired mine so the passing lights come on with the high beams, fantastic when you’re riding around the Aussie bush, you can see the kangaroos before they jump out in front of you
We have to worry about Deer here in the the ozarks but yeah same thing you really need that light on the side when you ride in rural areas. Thanks for checking them out. I might look at adding these or some kind of External light on mine.
I love led headlight all very 🌞 🌃
Yeah one of first upgrades I do is lighting if not LED already.
Led is so much better. great job Mike
Thanks Scott!
Put a set of L E Ds on my Triumph Rocket 3. Just a great upgrade!
Well that does it. Time to up grade the RoadKing
Glad you found this video helpful!
Aiming is confusing when there are not alignment screws that I can find
Do you have passing lamps or some kind of auxiliary light? I might add them to my Street Glide.
I like my passing lamps. They’re nice.
Mine didn't come with instructions, hence why I can't here lol
Hello, I tried to install this light on my 2009 Road King Classic and I'm having an issue buttoning things back up. Do you have any tips that can help me?
I can’t say that I do, we had no issues, sorry for delay but I’m at Sturgis
How do you use the mount on the passing light I can’t get the outer ring on with that piece on there
Make sure you have the light seated all the way in, I had no issues. What model and year?
@@RidingintheOzarks 06 heritage and I issues with my 03 to before with it
same with mine the clip doesnt clip in properly
@@jameshutchens3393
Do you prefer this or the one from Z Off-road you reviewed 2 years ago? Getting ready to upgrade mine before heading to BBB 2023
I’m personally running the Z off road still, I don’t have passing lamps so We put this on a buddies bike but he ended up trading it less than a year later so I don’t know how it held up long term. Hope that helps
@@RidingintheOzarks Thanks for the information, both seem to have good reviews. Leaning toward the Z-Offroad with passing lamps.
I installed these and the passing lamps do out when I turn my hi beam on, is this normal. I have a 97 heritage softail.
I think that is normal for that year but you can wire it up to be on with the bright. A friend of mine did it on his Bagger.
They look nice, but that output is absolutely terrible. The cutoff and scatter makes it horrible for oncoming traffic too.
I ordered the low end cost kit , not packaged as well , no instructions , no adaptor bracket , the passing lamps never fit inside the hosing , and with no adaptor bracket forget the 7 inch daymaker headlamp . Made sure I had free return before I ordered . Beware on early 1980's HD
Well like I said in the video I would confirm on the webpage for the light if it fits your exact model before ordering. Glad you got a free return. I Haven't tried them in anything that old but I know where there is a 1990 Bagger I might try if I get another set for review.
Did you have to aling the light?
Yes
How did the lights hold up? still working okay?
He ended up trading the bike off but several people have bought some other friends have bought them and they still good.
I thought Baja Design LP 6 more brighter Sir.
They maybe but not everyone like that design look and they are not $110…
Are these plastic lenses?
We put them on a friends bike, but I believe they were glass.
What's a Lumen?
A way to measure how bright a light is...
@RidingintheOzarks so the higher the number the brighter
Why did you cut the wires?? To each is own but work smarter not harder and just de pin the connector and pin the new one , takes 2 minutes bud.
The old connection on that side was not pinned it was done with crimp on females and looked very shady and they had to come of. I might have been able to get the provided pigtail apart to repin the new wire but it looked like it was molded and sealed and soldering is not that big of deal to me so instead I just used some shrink tube and solder.
@@RidingintheOzarks roger that 👊
@@RidingintheOzarks if got one im fighting to get the dam outside ring back on , it is def a pain
I had that on a Dyna 5.75 LED we did, it took 2 of us. but we got it.
@@RidingintheOzarks had a extra set on hands today and still didnt get it . i said blah and rebuilt a carb , ill try er again morrow lol
WTF…sending your buddy out on a road trip with misadjusted head laps…shame on you…
Shame on you for assuming things and judging me, I didn’t say he was on a road trip on THIS motorcycle, I said he was gone on a road trip so I couldn’t adjust the motorcycle light to compare it before I needed to finish the video. He had gone to visit family out of state and wasn’t going to be back for several months.
