Don’t forget to subscribe for more videos about CORNWALL and Falmouth I sometimes visit St Ives Cornwall and Padstow Cornwall too. Come here for everything from travel recommendations to beach reviews such as Perranporth Beach Cornwall. I also LOVE EXPLORING Cornwall’s coast line and the South West Coastal Path. Thank you for watching and commenting and liking the video.
Had this on my van where tank vent wasn’t venting. causing lack of fuel pressure to be drawn out of tank.
Hi Shaun, just a very simple one to check is the diesel tank vent system. It sounds like it's blocked & by removing the cap, you are letting air back into the tank & allowing you to continue your journey. Worth a try & costs nothing to check. Good luck, Russ
The older we get, limp mode is inevitable.
😂
And a leaky sump 😔
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
So true 😜
The float arm on tank lift pump is causing your problem. New lift pump and float arm will fix it!
I'm sad that your build on the vivaro will only be over 4 videos- 😢. I really liked watching your past van build videos- you are such a joy to watch!😊
Only 4 videos but they will be longer videos. Last time they averaged about 12 minutes but these new ones are over 20 minutes. And then after the 4 videos there will also be a start to finish build video
@@LoveSundays That's great news- got to get my @lovesundays fix. X
Great vlog and even better to read other comments on how to cure this issue.
Thanks everyone.
Have a sunny day, every day Love Sundays, from Paul & Kathy in GB 🤝👍✊
So aggravating when your vehicle does not work properly. I hope you get it straightened out.
There is a fuse in the fuse box under bonnet. The pins wear out and don’t get a very good contact on the fuse and the in tank pump stops
Possibly the fuel tank breather is blocked. The tank creates a vacuum that is released when you open the Anti theft cap, if it happens again just open the fuel cap open the anti theft cap and see if the van starts
Glad you've got some answers on the van, hope it's trip to the garage goes well.
morning Shawn hope it's not to long for your van to get sorted but in the meantime I can't waite to see the vivaro mark 2 loved that van 😂😂
Could it be as simple as, when you had work on your van, they have mixed up the fuel pipes, so its now running on the return pipe?
Thus probably doesnt sit low in the tank as a pickup pipe does.
Hoping its that easy.
As others have said it could have been the tank pressure issue. And maybe it wasn't the small amount of diesel you added, it was the fact you open the filler valve. Id try and run it again to try and get it to cut out. Then just open the tank filler but not add any fuel...
The fuse for the lift pump in the diesel tank its under the bonnet I had same problem the fuse pins come lose and fuse doesn't make proper contact.. turn key on and move fuse around you should find the pump cutting in.. I think its fuse 15.
hope this helps.
Try the fuse in engine bay for fuel pump you need to squash the terminals some how they must get warm and spread and it causes an intermittent fuel problem ive had same problem on 2 transit the same as yours
Good luck with the new garage mate. Can’t wait to see the progress of the new van….cheers!
Hi. We have got a diesel Golf and all four fuel injectors failed. It’s was horrendously expensive but now it’s running beautifully. Well that’s what my husband says. I don’t drive as I cycle everywhere. And I can’t even do that at the moment as I was knocked off my bike by a policeman on Tuesday.
I am having the exact same problem with my diesel mondeo. I love the car but damn it’s annoying. Ford dealership said it was probably fuel pump or injectors etc. £1500 to fix. It’s gone into an independent garage this morning 😂
Hi shaun, Just have them check the supply and return connections on the fuel tank they could possibly have been crossed, or the tank sender in the wrong position, just thinking if Halfords’may have taken the tank unit out During making checks to diagnose the previous problem with the van? Cheers Len & sue.
Looking forwards tomorrow Shaun my Vauxhall vivaro is ready and waiting to be converted. 👍
Sounds like a tank vent problem
Love your videos. They get better every time. I bet your van is vapored licked. When you open the tank it releases the lock? Just a guess
Injector seals are leaking.
That's why the alternator went.
The oils running down into it.
Just pull them down. hot engine then cold engine.
Then use some Injector cleaner to clean the nozzles down inside.
Or use genuine/over size copper injector seals and a new rocker cover and re cut the injector seats.
New rocker cover because there's a breather filter that's probably blocked too.
Hi Shawn,
When you go to Praa Sands next, overnight at Maggie's Patch carpark. Super affordable and right on the beach.👍
Looking forward to seeing the Vivaro build.
Looking forward to tomorrow video. I hope your van gets sorted at the new garage x
Big problem can be biodiesel causes growth in the fuel tank clogging your pick up
As I've always had bangers since I started driving and as soon as I've bought a vehicle I reset the trip counter and measure the mileage until empty and then and ever since I ignore the guages and rely on mileage counter reset after each refuelling.
Glad ya staying positive, I'm sure the garage will sort it. 👌 looking forward to the van build vids 😀 👍 xx
That'll be the mass airflow sensor, I had the same problem on my Kuga a couple of years back. £85 and 15 minutes swapping out and I never had another problem with it
If your garage struggle to fix the fault try City Auto Diesel over the bridge in Plymouth. They are the best in the SW. I was recommended them after the main dealer couldn’t resolve an issue.
Hi Shaun, just wonder if your problem could be the same as a friend of mine. He put a message up on another forum, on it he said 'Friend of mine has a 2.2 transit diesel that's had dpf clean. Soot counters need resetting before codes can be cleared.'
Could be your DPF cutting your engine out.
Love it.. hope the new garage sort it.
From my experience of misfire followed by engine warning and limp mode it has been due to injector issues or dirty fuel. There are several engines prone to this coupled with overzealous older computer diagnostic issues which throw up false issues just because the engine has had a cough and splutter with some dirty diesel. I hope its not injector problems and get a few quotes if it is. Vast difference in cost to replace if it is.
Shaun, a software update sorted a friends van, other than that could be the float in the tank.
Hope you get the van fixed and can’t wait for tomorrow video
Thanks for the update
I’m thinking of getting a reader myself
i'd start with changing the filler cap and/or check that the diesel tank can breath/vent.
These are a no cap vent system so unless you get a whoosh when you push the flap with a fuel filler nozzle it’s not a fault.
Hopefully an end us insight for the van issues.
Watching you from Davidstow airfield...Nice park up...and I'm happy with my Mark 7 transit...I've got the mindset that...the more technology that's put into a vehicle...THE BIGGER PAIN IN THE ARSE IT IS...your transit vlogs have backed that up for me...Many thanks lol...of Tintagel tomorrow...Campervan friendly...Bude was very expensive...Car park by the Cricket club wanted £9.00...and no vans between 11pm and 8am...look forward to the vivaro vlogs...and hoping the transit gets sorted...It owes you BIG TIME 😉
My Toran used to go into limp mode.on occasions. I had diesil, couldn't get up the hill out of Falmouth. Just no power and going slower and slower. Dirty diesil I think.
Your fuel filter is blocked guarantee it, looks like an oil filter, it's that black!
Newer van well worth the time and money saved with chronic, ongoing problems.
Looking farward to seeing what you have done to the vivaro as i want to convert mine , shame the transit it still causing issues, i rekon its something simple like a bad earth on the fuel pump or pressure regulator issue maybe , what ever it is hope your new garage sort it .
Sounds like the fuel pickup hasn’t been refitted correctly, so it’s either floating around, or its trapped at a level that means it runs dry when the tank isn’t empty.
Haha, you so knew the van was locked, you tease. Good luck getting the fuel issue fixed.
My Transit cuts out all the time, but it will start up again almost immediately. Then it'll go for ages as normal before the whole cycle starts again. The Internet is full of these problems with Transits. I've had it into three garages, and they can't find a fault .
Great cliff hanger! 🎉
Mel’s big van small world u tub might be worth giving him a shout . Cheers.
Look forward to the van build video!
It’ll probably be dodgy connections into the tank unit…..
(Happened to my diesel Jag XJ)
Good luck with the new garage. They have to be better than the old garage
On a totally different subject, we stopped of in st ives , forgot to pack are food were left with chilli con carne, chips and grated cheese. Dont know where we got that ideal from 😂 we enjoys your travels keep up the great work
Let's just hope you can put all the issues behind you and the garage you take it to know what they are doing. If its a fueling problem then it won't necessarily bring up a code. Good luck!!
Sneaky Saturday - now you’ve even become a stealth content creator. NICE!
I don’t suppose you have adblu for that van?.maybe a problem with the adblu system.?😊
No this one is before add blue was introduced
Injectors are expensive!!
I have a 13reg vauxhall vivaro and 4x injectors cost £1400!!! Oem bosh!
As you are mainly a One nighter I guess getting a shower doesn’t affect you.. but it would be good to know on your trips to the various places in Cornwall where people are able to get a shower.. can’t keep driving 30 miles to a swimming pool or one of the very few leisure centres in Cornwall..
We don’t have many big gym companies down here either so there’s not really that option to use their showers. Also there are by many public showers either so I’d suggest if you need shower facilities stay on a campsite or go for a swim in the sea 😂 but it’s not nice being all salty all day long after a morning swim
should of got an older transit around 2002 age, take bit of rust over all this any day. good luck though.
Glad you’re going to a new garage! 😊
I had to check the day - thought I'd missed Saturday!
Good luck with the new garage, hope they get to the bottom of your cut-out issue ... these 'little niggles' really push you to fall out of love with a vehicle. Stay strong Shaun, it will be fixed soon!
Looking forward to seeing your Vivaro project van - it seams so long ago that you teased us with the intro video.
Good idea gettin some info ahead of garage... money well spent. Lookkn forward to vivaro tomorrow ❤
Mate love the videos. Got a young child who wakes up early, so Sunday is sorted at 9 o'clock thanks to you. 👌
Fingers crossed on the van.
Thanks for the update.
Just got my Trafic back from a broken fuel rail, boom✊
Never use supermarket fuel, always put the good stuff in
You do know the Vauxhall Vivaro is a Renault Traffic?
My husbands old bmw went into limp mode . It was the turbo…
Nice set up pal
Oh.... you little tease 😂. Looking forward to seeing the Vivaro
Fingers and toes crossed for you 🤞🍀🙏👍
Fuel filter
Oh I hate the rattley keys thing. Lol
Good luck with your Transit, I know how frustrating it can be when you take your car to a "professional" to have it fixed and all they do is making it worse!
I think it's a great plan to change your garage! Friends of mine who have exactly the same Transit are beyond happy with its reliability, so I really hope the best for you!!! 🙌🏻
Thank you
There was no need to get us excited to see the new van then say it’s locked :(
Now I’m going to have to come back tomorrow 😂
Looking forward to tomorrow Shaun as always bloody good channel as I’ve said multiple times best out there
Nightmare, hope you get it sorted and not just more money 🤞🏻
I’ve put it’s your foot foot regulator
It's unreal isn't it, the workhorse of the British main nation turns out to be utter cr*p!!!
Thanks
Thank you
Mate... I love your videos. Your part of my Sunday routine... but the pocket cam. It weirded me out a bit
£81 ✅ Amazon ✅ What could possibly go wrong 🤷♂️
Get them to change the 5th injector
lol. I’m not an idiot 😂
@@LoveSundaysNeither am I, there is a fuel vaporiser valve which fails for a pastime on transits. In the trade we call it the 5th injector
Right ok 👍
There’s also a 10 or 20amp fuse for that valve under the bonnet.
@@TheWallyrabbit Why? thats the vaporiser for the DPF...there´s no dpf issue...
Another good video 👏👏👏👍👍👍😎
Trucks have to use that rubbish and when it goes wrong it goes into limp mode.
frosty tash..... the ole Colombian marching powder eh...
What? Are you talking about my grey hair in my tash?
Nothing will stop you
Shaun, you big tease…..il’ll show you the new van build….no I won’t 😂
Limp mode is never good
Sounds like thongs are on the up, you deserve a bit of good luck Shaun after the problems you have had with the van. Great editing today btw for such a short vid.
These seem to be Hate Van Saturdays videos. DPF issues can cause poor performance.
Very annoying Shaun. Those diagnostic machines are good but yes have to know what the codes mean. Hope you get it sorted soon. By the way nice hairdo 😊
hi.. how annoying for you... but at least its getting (hopefully)fixed soon looking forward to tomorrows vid much love ..kay from kent xx
U tease shaun
i thought you had a new engin
