- If you were having a heart attack, would you be able to recognize the symptoms, or would you be in denial? One man hopes his experience serves as a warning to others.
Last thanksgiving I went to the hospital due to chest pain, left arm was numb, a very strange sensation in my chest by the time I got to the hospital. It turned out to be nothing. $2,000 later, I’ll be forever scared to get it checked out again.
Better safe than sorry.
Money can be replaced but your life cannot. Imagine if that was a heart attack and you ignore it.. you would’ve been dead by now.

I understand. To be honest tho, just 2,000?? I'm poor asf and even I don't think that's enough to call the difference between life and death. Hospital bills are forgiving with the amount of time you get to pay it off, i don't think it's that bad in comparison to dying all of a sudden. Think of all the great artists that had infinite money but die of heart attacks around 50 & 60. Take care of yourself, that stress and anxiety, the stuffy feeling that seems will never end is always a bad sign for health. Run! Eat more salads!! I'm 24, always ate unhealthy, I used to randomly cry and feel pain all over my torso because I drink too much! Im on my way to recovery with good food and exercise. you can never recover too late or too early. If you feel any abdominal pain from red meat, STOP and CONSIDER! My uncle was incredibly healthy and active but died at 50 of a massive heart attack. Guess what his favorite food was? Steaks, spaghetti, sausage, roast beef.

Yeah , I went to get checked up many times because my doctor wasn't quite sure what was wrong with me . I got my blood drawn , heart checked and liver check done and everything seemed go be fine but from my blood work it had shown I had hyper thyroids . So basically they said everything is fine but time to time I still get these problems with my body and not just my heart but they canr seem to day anything .
@LGaming 👾 yes thank you
@@seanromero7620 take it from me, youve got anxiety. Don't worry. Anxiety always tries to make us think that something is wrong.
Glad you’re ok
Back in July I had a slight burning pain in the upper left part of my chest. I had been moving some sheets of plywood around and I thought I had strained a muscle. The next day I felt fine. Went outside and did some work around the farm and the same pain returned. Went in and took a shower. Got out of the shower and felt fine, then it hit me. The pain in my chest was bad enough but my left arm felt like it was being crushed. My wife drove me to the emergency room at a high rate of speed. Heart attack. Two stents later I feel fine. Considering my family history, I feel lucky to be alive. My Dad died at 54 and my older brother at 59 with heart attacks. PS: All told the hospital bill was just under $ 100,000.00
God bless you 🙏 ❤ 🙌
Just had a heart attack 5 days ago.I had been to the grocery store to help my Mother get her groceries. That was hard enough. Then getting back and unloading them felt like I was dying. I would carry a load in and have to sit down and catch my breath, then go for one more trip. When I brought the second load in I told my Mother I had to stop and sit down for a while and she would have to get the rest. I sat there for close to an hour hoping it would get better. It didn't. Told my Mother to cal 911 and she took me to the ER instead. I was having extreme pain in the center of my chest and tightness. On the way to the ER I was having trouble breathing. Not sure if it was the heart attack or a panic attack because I was hurting so bad, or both. Both hands went numb but that could be because I was clinching them so tight from the pain I was in. Very scary. They put one stent in but couldn't fix the other two. The one they call the widow maker was 99% blocked. Doc put me on new blood pressure meds, heart meds and a blood thinner. Hopefully things will get better with diet and what exercise I can do but I'm still in danger of the other 2 that couldn't be fixed.
Good lord .... Thankfully you made it through that... Hang in there buddy...
I hope you feel better
How are you doing? Did things get better?
@@Joshisherelol Things are a lot better.I'm still in danger from the other 2 they couldn't fix but I feel a lot better. I completely changed my diet and started walking as much as I could. Today is December 17. Since I got out of the hospital on September 4 I've lost 50 pounds and my A1C is down to 6.
@@BamaDan197319 I'm sorry to hear they couldn't fix the other 2. Seems to me your on a really good path, keep it up my friend your doing really good!
A different kind of classic heart attack causes a "numb" sensation across the entire chest cavity with no numbness at all or loss of function in either arm, and a slight numbness in the throat, including a slight sensation of loss of voice.
If I have a heart attack or heart failure I'm not going in to the hospital with treatment
I used to consume a lot of soda daily, and I also drank an energy drink from time to time and I was also a smoker, and a week ago, I felt a little pain on the left side of my chest and I didn't think it was serious, and a few hours later I got angry and out of the blue I feel that my heart hurts a lot, I sat down and thought I was going to die that evening, my luck is that my nephew and sister were at home, she took me to the emergency room and I stayed there all night, and my left hand hurt for several days, It was like my left hand was paralyzed. those who say that the heart attack doesn't hurt are lying, the heart attack hurts a lot, I don't want to experience that pain again for the rest of my life. I'm young, I'm 26 years old and I thought that soda and cigarettes couldn't kill me, but I was wrong and I almost died.
I'm sorry, hope you're feeling ok now, but was it anxiety attack due to caffeine or did you had a heartattack?
That dr. Would give me a heart attack too 🌹
Heart attack survivor says doctors blamed symptoms on anxiety
Yessss but ecg can show
That's one of my biggest fears because I am diagnosed with anxiety
I believe this too.
Went to the hospital with severe chest pain, racing heart, confusion. Actually thought I was dying. Rushed to the ER. They freaked out and started checking me immediately, EKG, CHEST X-rays, blood tests, etc…. They then told me that I was just stressed and I should cut back on caffeine.
same lmao

sad thing is these sceneros due led to acutally heart attacks and cardic arrest the less your heart is racing the better you are overall

Sounds like health anxiety. I also have that. Pretty scary stuff but should never ignore it.

This is why I haven't gone to a doctor yet. I've heard from people that they simply do an ECG and say everything looks fine.
I can be out walking, sleeping, driving or doing nothing at all. Then I will get a SHARP pain in my heart and I can't move or breathe for a couple of seconds and it feels as if my life has been drained from me completely. Sometimes at night I wake up with my heart beating super super fast and I can't do anything other than lay there and try to survive. It generally gets you when you stop!
I recently have been told my cholesterol is so high it's 139. Which is not good. It's risks of a heart attack. Left arm was numb weak and heavy, I already have bad anxiety so,, I'm also sweating a lot more due to my anemia, and worse of all, chest pains, especially pain where my heart is. Sucks more having depression so I dunno if I should just accept my fate or continue to struggle despite God telling me I should give up.
And I have already gotten so many tests for my blood that I'm sick of having to take blood work cause knowing even a loss of blood can cause it. And worse part, when you have periods :))))

My symptoms were, feeling anxiety like you drank too much coffee, heartburn, and a cold sweat. Felt really weird with numbing arms from my pinky finger to my arm pits.

but i knew myself theres something wrong but da doctor said everything was ok. she said i was having anxiety
I have serious heart problems. One is a sudden death ventricular tachycardia. Thing is, I feel regular chest pain and numb left arm. Even last night the pain was so bad in my chest that my voice groaned in opera octaves. Sometimes I wake up a few days in a row with numb lips. If I'd gone to the hospital every time I'd be hundreds of millions in debt. For that reason I'll probably die before I go to the hospital. That's ok. I did what I had to do in this life.
Pain or numbness in left hand or pain in left shoulder to whole left arm same as Heart Attack doesn't always means you have heart attack.
I had these symptoms when I was depressed and had stress.
The heart can die on its own, it’s called broken heart syndrome. Very real and still a mystery to many as how it happens.
I have like trips i am gonna get a heart attack, i am 16, first league volleyball player and not smoking or drinking and sometimes i have like a panic attack that i will have a heart attack all my analytics are good blood laboratory blood pressure heart readings are great and i still have some panic attacks, even the doctor i went to check on me told me i have a better heart than 85% of people he had as patients, if somebody can tell me what to do please i will listen to anybody.
Doctors often say that the risk is small with people your age. Well lets just hope its true. If you have money get the tests you need for reasurrance.
For now i think just eat healthy and watch for your sleep. You're an athlete so you need a lot of rest (7 hours is good i think), dont burden your heart by staying up late coz i know a lot of young people love to stay up late. You should be in bed at 11 pm maximum (earlier the better). And yeah, dont think too much about it. I've spent too much in my younger days being anxious yet i'm still here (thank God!).
A guy once said, "do what you can do (eat good, dont smoke/drink/use substance, sleep early) and dont try to do what you cant control (worrying/anxious)". Its not like by keep worrying you'll get the answer to prolong your life, right? (Luke 12:25)
You can be the healthiest person on earth but still die tomorrow, who knows? But thats not our job to think about it. Just do what you can do right now

For me, I was feeling like my heart was double skipping every 10 beats. But it comes and goes. I bought me a statoscope and sure enough, not only I can feel it , now I can hear it. Then one day, I wasn't feeling well and was kind of short of breath. Went to the emergency room, went to the observation room , and the nurse plug me in to a heart machine , EKG ( I think that's what you call it) 3 hours I stayed there and the head nurse said " We see nothing wrong ". Went home and the irregular beat started again. This went back and forth with the nurses and doctors telling them 3 months that something ain't right. Went for my usual physical exam and right there that damn skipping started again. When the nurse walked in, I told her " before anything else, please listen to my heart beat for at least a minute. She listened and said something is there, took a heart test ( don't know what is called but the testy only took 2 minutes and saw the dip in the paper graph. Went to the emergency, got cat scan/mri , stress test where they gave a shot to act like I've been running, and found out one of the artery is 95% blockage. And that is considered a mild heart attack. That was in July 2023. Now I'm having the same feeling in April 2024.

I understand its important to make lifestyle changes after having cardiac stents implanted. But having chicken and fish on a regular basis instead of beef and pork isnt all that healthy. There's a myth that chicken and fish are healthier than red meat when infact they have plenty of saturated fat. For Americans who otherwise eat a lot of beef, transitioning to chicken and fish might seem healthy but its really not. Best thing would be to remove most of animal foods from the diet and have them only occasionally..
