    I've got the Oxford Sports Heated grips, but this video has been useful for cable management and best method for gluing the grips on without seizing the rotation of the throttle. Thanks for making this! Looking forward to the Akrapovic exhaust installation video.

    Great video, but one note; the left side should go straight down, if it doesn't, it will be a little bit of an hindrance to your controls.

    I suggest to use auxiliary connector. You can find it under fuel tank at left side. It is fused and connected to ignition.
    Plugs are available at ebay.

    If you would like to use heated grips and usb charger you can use power splitter

    Awesome video. How are the grips working for you? What kind of temperatures have you riden in with those grips on? I just started installing some bike master grips on my R1. Still have to wire everything up.

    • @beccashacks1798
      @beccashacks1798  Před 5 lety +6

      Mine work perfectly fine. The Yamaha grips heat up in about 30 seconds. I usually don't even keep them on the hottest setting because they actually burn your hand, that's how hot they get. The coldest I ride at is around 0 Celsius, but I don't like going below that just because usually there is salt on the streets and I don't want to get it on my bike. Also the tires don't have the same grip as when is warmer out. But I can ride around those temperatures no problem. I hope you find they work well on your bike once you're done the installation 😊

    • @TheTyrone1981
      @TheTyrone1981 Před 5 lety +2

      Thanks so much! I hear that. I’m in Texas and don’t ride colder than upper 30s Fahrenheit because we get ice on the roads once it gets below freezing. Glad you’re enjoying yours. Definitely hoping mine will make commuting in the cold more comfortable as my hands are the only things I have problems keeping comfortable lol. Ride safe!

      Great to hear. I finished mine up today and took it for a ride. It was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind. Felt nice with only regular leather gloves. It’s currently 42 degrees and falling. Going out for a ride in a little bit to see how they hold up. It’s very windy out so we’ll see. Take care and enjoy the ride

    Awesome... first video where I see someone take the grip off without cutting it...What are the heated grips like? Mine broke down every 6 months and weren't heating that much hence why I'm considering the ugly Oxford heated grips. Thanks for the video.

    • @beccashacks1798
      @beccashacks1798  Před 4 lety +1

      So glad you liked it! And I bought the original Yamaha grips because they were great quality. I have had them for 2 years now and they still work perfectly fine. The heat up super fast too (like 30 seconds to be hot). I would assume the Oxford ones work the same way. Best of luck installing yours 😊

    Well done young lady! Great instructional video. I just bought a pair for my MT09. Don't know where you live, but I live in Alaska and I want to extend my riding season longer than 4 months if I can. These should help. So how cold can you comfortably ride with the heated grips?

    • @beccashacks1798
      @beccashacks1798  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi JB, so glad you liked the video 😊 I live in Canada and the coldest I have ridden my bike with those on is -2 Celsius. My hands were fine at that temperature, my knees and legs were the ones getting cold haha I think you can definitely get a good season with those grips. Best of luck!

    • @akquicksilver
      @akquicksilver Před 4 lety

      @@beccashacks1798 Just installed them two days ago and I love them. I have a condition called Raynaud's Syndrome, if my hands get cold the circulation shuts off to my fingers and they go completely numb. It can lead to amputation if not attended to quickly. These grips really take care of the problem for me so they don't get cold in the first place.

      @@akquicksilver Are you still satisfied with these Yamaha grips?

    • @akquicksilver
      @akquicksilver Před 3 lety +3

      @@MRUNDISPUTEDCHAMPION Absolutely! Rode today at 52F partly cloudy day in Soldotna Alaska. My hands which have poor circulation and get cold very quickly were toasty warm. The grips warm up fast and the controls work great. I would highly recommend them. It was a very easy install, with the most time consuming issue was routing the wires to be as tidy as possible. I've installed the heated films that wrap around the bar as well as the rod elements that slide inside the bar and the Yamaha grips are the best I've ever installed.

    • @beccashacks1798
      @beccashacks1798  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Joe, I honestly don’t think you can change the rubber. I took the grips off because I was replacing the handlebar and they didn’t seem to be modular at all so I don’t think you can change them but that is just my opinion. If you do find a way to do it please let me know 😊 thanks for checking out the video and for leaving a comment 😊

      Becca's Hacks oh I do I already have 19,000 miles or over 30,000 km i have had my 2017 fz07 for almost only 11months so you can say I enjoy it a lot but also on the grips I just cut one off and rolled the throttle one off and then I installed the new ones from pro grip I think it’s called I just used isopropyl alcohol and I drenched the inside of the grip and the handlebar and twisted it on and now it’s like glued on there I didn’t use just the alcohol so it’s nice it only literally took me like 2mins to install both lol it was my first time doing that so it was easy and the grips don’t move or anything it’s like if they got glued

    Hey I have a question for you! How tall are you? Do find it difficult to maneuver on the bike when doing stop and go or moving backward? I'm looking at the MT-09 and its seat has an extra inch and a half on the bike I have now which kinda sucks. I supposed to I could get some boots with a thick sole to make up the difference.
