If there was a legitimate concern with a judge then follow the process but these shady defense attorneys are highly unethical. From allowing leaks, possibly wanting things leaked, to how they accosted the judge. I hope they get their hands slapped at some point. They need to focus on ethically representing their client.
It's very difficult to ethically defend this guy, at this point. Has he actually confessed to his lawyers? We don't know, but they may be making sure he doesn't have the chance to confess directly to them. If he has, they are way beyond ethics! They now need time to develop a new strategy. They certainly have never defended him as factually innocent, rather trying to make connections to another "theory" and distract from the facts against their client.

You called this from day one. The sloppy, incompetent, and negligent defense team™ tried to play a game of brinkmanship with the judge and lost. They were never ready for a speedy trial.

There IS one way that RA committed this crime. BTK was able to control 4 people with one gun, 2 being adults. And this was his first crime. LE back then thought a gang had killed the Otero family

I was hoping this wouldn't happen last minute for the sake of the families - imagine mentally preparing yourself for this only to have the rug pulled from under you yet again days before it's all meant to start - just cruel.
I know the defence has a job to do but it's like throughout this they've entirely neglected to consider the two murdered children & their families while they pull every dodgy trick in the book to delay the trial. A lot of defence attorneys still show respect, these guys have none! Thanks for the update Sleuth
True! My heart hurts for Abby and Libby and I can't even imagine what their families have gone through this entire time. And when Allen started confessing like it was going out of style, the defense should have just realized they were never going to name names of people "intimidating" him into confessing because that was a false angle. They should have prepared to get his mental evaluation in order and run that angle if it had any merit whatsoever or just beg for a plea deal/ change his plea quite some time ago.

I'm not sure we have heard the last of this poop debacle. May be the final delay card, competency hearing could buy another 2 months or so.
@@sleuthintuition I hope there's no way that the defense can delay what is going to be happening May 21-23 at the hearings. I can't imagine the defense wanting to fully go through with those hearings instead of just changing RA's plea. The victims' families deserve this part of the nightmare that RA is putting them through to be over. His new nightmare of facing his effed up future of his own creating needs to start asap. Those poor girls were only in middle school. Richard Allen is such an atrocious coward.

Hey sleuth im sorry but im so pissed if theres a delay i followed this sincmid 2017-present day this is a long 7 yrs u.k. they get the evidence i n thats that 4 months at most including from the day there arrested makes me think they dont have that much. Rants are always welcome here. Good to see you Kev. Justice for Abby and Libby is delayed once again because one mans stubborn ways. He will never put his wife mother and daughter through the trial. His hatred for woman was taken out on Abby and Libby, most likely so it wasn't acted out on his own family. I hope RA will explain that part to the world

My opinion is that the sketch of the guy with the golf hat looks exactly like Richard Allen and the curly haired young boy sketch resembles Kegan Kline. It has never been reported by anyone but I have my suspicions that LE thought of more people being involved is the video of Richard driving by the store. I believe, my opinion again, that there was someone else there sitting in the passenger seat.
