These four B-52s are from the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot AFB in North Dakota and arrived into RAF Fairford in England under the callsign of HATE11 flight.
The jets are:
HATE11 (61-0003) - 69th Bomb Squadron "Knighthawks" yellow fin flash
HATE12 (61-0018) - 69th Bomb Squadron "Knighthawks" yellow fin flash
HATE13 (60-0044) - 23d Bomb Squadron "Bomber Barons" red fin flash
HATE14 (61-0039) - 69th Bomb Squadron "Knighthawks" yellow fin flash
HATE 11/12/13 refuelled in AR-20 with ABBOT 71 flight on the eastern seaboard of the USA before continuing on to bombing ranges in the UK. ABBOT71 flight was a mix of KC-135s and a KC-46 I believe.
HATE 11/13 went on to conduct bombing practice on Tain range in North West Scotland before splitting into singles for their transition to RTB Fairford. HATE13 landed at 14:05 and HATE11 at 15:15.
HATE12 went to the Holbeach Air Weapons Range to the east of England and conduced bombing practice for around 2 hours. This aircraft recovered to Fairford at 14:57.

If these aircraft are flying in 2050, that would make them almost 100 years old. I'm aware that all of the old B-52's have been retired but to think the design is still going to be in the air after almost 100 years? Totally amazing.
Expected to stay in operation until 2050 after the last upgradeds.

these things are sitting ducks to modern interceptors and missiles... would be like shooting fish in a barrel
Alot of the B-52 we're retired because of the SALT treaty with Russia. Many of the were dismantled in the desert
@@robbyjai Depends on how they're used and what weapons are deployed. The use right now is purely symbolic and there is purpose in that. In the unlikely event of an outbreak, IMHO, stand-off options like cruise missiles would be the weapon of choice.
All the guys that worked on these and around them and flew them thanks for your service .đ
And gals. Worked on engines in the 70's.

I built the monogram B-52 kit in 1974 and it was one of the coolest Christmas gifts ever and I am still enamored today with this great aircraft.
Those are the memories that stick with you for a lifetime. I remember that kit, and the box cover like it was yesterday! đ

I spent 11 years at Minot. I've worked on every one of those aircraft. I still feel a sense of awe and wonder when I see them fly.
Like, when you see them be able to actually take off and not just fall out of the sky?
I spent time at Thule AB Greenland - I was in awe at the size of the B52 hangers.

Thank you for your service. When were you there? I lived there from July 1992 to June 2001. Met some great people from there and have had friends marry some that were stationed there. Some didn't last, but know two that are still married to ones they met there and both have retired (one I think finished his career there and the other finished at Barkesdale, but he went to Nellis and I think a school somewhere but can't remember where off hand ... Want to say somewhere in Rhode Island).
As a young child in 1962, my next door neighbor was the cheif test pilot for the B-52 program at Boeing in Wichita Kansas. We lived about 2.5 miles north of Boeing's main runway at McConnell AFB. Being in the flight path, when my neighbor flew over the house, he would wag the wings at us as we played in the yard. It was so cool! Those planes were silver with fluorescent orange painted vertical stabilizer, a fluorescent orange band around the fuselage and nose. They flew over all day every day for years. Such an amazing site and memory.
Ahhh cool memory. Thanks for sharing đđ

Amazing, wonderful memories !! đđđ
In the early 70's I went to Lambert Field in St. Louis to get my Aviation Merit badge in Boy Scouts. I watched a new 15 Eagle in the hi Vis paint, orange tail, tips, waddle out from the McDonnell Douglas hangar and take off. He went vertical before the end of the runway, while the 2 F4s from the MO ANG fought to spiral up after him. While I stared, slack jawed, the Eagle rolled over, already pulling a contrail, and headed it East for Illinois. The F4s blackened the sky in full burner as they struggled to keep up . Made the ride in the V tail Bonanza afterwards a bit anti climatic, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
Did you ever see Slim Pickens flying it ?
I first flew B-52's first in 1957. I flew the "B,C and D Models. Great reliable Bird . I was is SAC for over 10 years. Flew B-47's, also a great Bird.

That 3rd bomber, what a stunning landing
Yep. That second one landed front-footed and bounced quite a bit.
B-52s are so unique, including how they take off and land flat-footed. And I'll never forget watching a rare B-52 flyover at an airshow at Scott AFB (the logistical headquarters of US Military Global Air Mobility) about ten years ago. It flew to the northwest after the last pass, then banked hard left and climbed while performing a perfect knife-edge until out of sight in the sky. Such a BIG plane - tons of power and a hard right-rudder.

It can carry up to 40 tons of freedoms to throw them at poor people that utterly need liberation from the fascist burden of beeing responsible for 75 years of lifespan. Immediate liberation and freedom.
This brought back memories of sheer awe from the late 80s as a student pilot flying C150s over Carswell AFB many times while transitioning from Fort Worth meacham field. What a thrill
In the early 70's, I debriefed crews and worked on the Bomb-Nav systems. An incredible flying machine. I still love to watch them flying.

WOW to the Camera man. That is some of the most beautiful footage ive ever seen of the B-52. Congratulations. The second landing bounce was amazing. Greatful for the footage. Cheers from California mate.
This is my favorite Bomber. Had one land at our air base that wasn't really design for this aircraft to land. The pilots had to land right on the center line and pop the chute quickly. The wing wheels rolled across the grass as they turned onto the taxiway. Take off was even more exciting. They couldn't take on a full fuel load as the runway length was minimal and they used every foot to get airborne. It was quite a site.
Why did they land there? Some sort of emergency?
I saw one parked at my base and they are huge. I was pretty impressed with SR71 also.
Hopefully it will not be dropping it's bombs over your heads

A 70 year old aircraft, still very impressive. Just goes to show if you have an ideal airframe platform which "does the job" (e.g. B-52, TU-95, C-130, U2, B707*, PC-6, C172/182) then there's no reason to replace it no matter how old it is.
the airframe called metal fatigue would be a problem, eventually, they will have to be replaced or crash
dont think it matters how old, still does the job and fly's gracefully, if that makes any sense ?

A lot of family history through minot. My dad came up for fortuna and when that was operational back in the 60s. That was a radar warning station. They were under the command of minot.

It was around the time the Being 747 started flying and had only seen a couple of them in the bigger airports Like Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas Love Field and as big as the 747 is the B-52s made them look very small. The engines on the B-52s were screamers then (much like the 707s was and smoked dark exhaust then too) and loud. Those Pratt & Whitney engines just sound mean I remember being on my ship USS MIDWAY and they flew over amazing the size and beauty, thanks for the video in 4k you can almost reach out and touch it, good one!!!! amazing these giants can almost reach 700 mph!
Love the sound of those engines
Sorry Nothing beat seeing "12" B52 bomber landing back in UK at 4am from Bombing Iraq 2002 ,, that takes the cake for me !!!! the noise ... one after the other I was at the end of the runway
You mean the crooked illegal Iraqi invasion.... Just another example of America gone wrong.....
@@randythomas3478 It was the Labour Government that started it ,, MR Tony Blair
I grew up in west side Fort Worth Texas in the 1960s-70s under the flight line of Carswell Air Force base. These flew over our house dozens of times a day. The sound of these engines sound like home
Thanks , Joe !!
Thanks, Uncle Sam !!
Great catches my friend đȘ
Thanks a lot bud. Glad you enjoyed :)
I was assigned to Barksdale AFB in the mid 1970's I was surprised to read the tail numbers of aircraft there at the time, were the same as my birth year., 1957, some 56 models. All G models. We also had a few 'tall tail' D models, but they were mostly static display.
Wow, awesome. It Must be such a privilege to work with these aircraft. We often get LA and BD coded jets here on deployment. Thanks for dropping by ;)
@@UKAviationMovies You also would see the tail code of MT for Minot AFB.
That is terrific and cool landings of the arrival on the 4 x Boeing B-52H Stratofortress đđ€©
Chances are those BUFFs are alder than the crew flying them, lol. Some of the greatest Birds in our Military inventory.
No 1 and No 3 pulled off the smoothest landings. Great job on the video.
Yeah, not easy to do with the massive ground effect thanks to the huge wings and flaps.
Thanks Brent đđ
I spent 4 years of my life around these incredible aircraft when I was a member of the 416th Bomb Wing, 8th Air Force, stationed at Griffiss AFB, Rome, NY! These aircraft were amazing to see up close and in flight. When we had ORIâs or Operational Readiness inspections, it was something to see these planes take off in intervals rumbling down the runway! SAC âPeace was our Profession!â
between 1965 and 1975, US and its allies have dropped 7.5 million tons of bombs on Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, double the amount dropped on Europe and Asia during ww2. Pound for pound, it remains the largest aerial bombardment in human history.
Cool memories, thanks for sharing bud đđ
@@UKAviationMovies Roger That! đ
Well if you're going to put it in quotes. It was "Peace is our Profession"
@@slobama Thank you for pointing that out!
I was stationed at RAF Fairford from June 1985 to June 1987. I love the British people, they are our brothers. Ryan Schultz. Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In the 50s my brothers and I loved you guys turning up on the doorstep (five older sisters, all lookers). No one got past the door until we'd shaken them down for Hershey's, gum, 7up and maybe a sixpence if we struck lucky. Mum loved your charming good manners and told the girls they were daft if they didn't marry one of those good natured clean lads with nice teeth, immaculate uniforms and fat wallets. The local Romeos couldn't compete with the oversexed, overpaid and over here :) Respect to you, brother.
this is the greatest view of freedom that you can get, the schools should show this film to show our your children to be proud of our country.
