    A shave with the QShave razor (also sold as the Mingshi). I purchased mine for less than tgen dollars. At thst time, it came with freee shipping. This is a clone of the wonderful Merkur Futur razor. Is the clone as good as the Futur?
    Note: If you do purchase a QShave razor and have blade alignment issues, this gentleman's post on BadgerandBlade.com may help: goo.gl/afsuDr

      No problem.:) As with any razor, YMMV.:) I have several adjustable razors. In using them, I sometimes get confused where the best setting is for each.:)
      G;ad ot hear the QShave works well for you.:) If I were to travel, this is one of the razors I'd consider taking. It's adjustable and cost me very little. I can afford to lose it. Although, I know I'd be mad as hornets for losing it!):) The point is, with the QShave, I'd only be out ten bucks or so. Whereas if I were to lose my Merkur Futur, I'm looking at 80 bucks to replace.

      Here it is as the MingShi: goo.gl/RZTw4T Again, just over 11 bucks.
      If you search for "adjustable razor" on the site, you'll find that there are other brands/manufacturers/sellers selling the same razor. Since making the video, the price has gone up just a bit. Most razors offered are in the 11 to 12 dollar range (depending on what other items you add to the package - blades, stand, cover, etc.). Still, it's under 13 bucks with free shipping.

      Bob, sorry to hear this. When adjusting, I sometimes hold the razor head in a towel. Agree, butterfly TTOs are great! t's the very reason why my first razor was the Chieftain. I wanted the safety and ease of use of a TTO. Plus, end tabs of the blade were enclosed. A couple of good points for those looking for a safety razorand wanting to move to the traditional wet shave.:)

      Well, without knowing too much about your skin, beard, age, etc., I can only take a guess and suggest a few things. Give Tabac Shaving soap or Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap a try. You just may need a lather that gives a bit more protection. Perhaps a pre-shave oil is in order, too.
      Also, start out at the lowest setting and don't dial up too much for successive passes. Try only two shave passes at mild settings. Remember, use a light touch and let the weight of the razor do all the work. It's like golf. Let the club do the work.:)

    Nice vid Mark. My Q shave was a disaster, blade balance was bad, the bottom plate was bent, so it bent both ends of the blade up and the screw thread in the handle was so loose with the thread on the bottom plate it wobbled just by looking at it. I got the merkur futur after that. It is my top razor by far. Get what you pay for, or luck with the q shave you recieve. Mine was a dud.

    • @MarkSzorady
      @MarkSzorady  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi, Muriel Morales. I'm not really sure. I'd think that for shaving the legs, you'd want a handle with some more knurling and grip, correct? the QShave's handle is somewhat smooth, although the matte finish does give it some grippiness plus the indentation the handle affords a good ledge, so to speak, to grasp it. I'm guessing it would work as well as any other razor provided your hands were kept dry. I know when I use the QShve (or Futur), I make sure ot dry my hands a bit.

    Did you even have growth on your face? Maybe being so fair skinned, it doesn't show up on camera. I'm a mid-January 2018 newbie to DE wet shaving as you know. I am now in the process of testing out two sample packs of razors I have. I chose this QShave Razor to test them as I can learn the razor and it is adjustable. I used Plasti Dip on the handle and it is absolutely wonderful for grip. I bought the stand for the QShave at the same time. I have to use that stand for another razor as the Plasti Dip makes it too thick to use the stand it is made for. I like using the bloom water for a pre-shave.
