- We founds several more awesome small RVs that we've fallen in love with over the years and we've listed them on our site: www.gonewiththewynns.com/best-...
Update: We decided to keep Windy for the remainder of our RV travel's. We begged her to take us back and she did! You can read why here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/sorry...
As most of you know our Windy is for sale and we are looking for a new home on wheels! This will be our 4th RV purchase and needless to say, we know the drill!
Here is our general "RV wish list":
Length: under 30ft
Sleeps: 4 (we are having some guests this year)
Generator (for our boondocking days)
Good inside storage (because we are full time)
Somewhat contemporary styling
We have stopped off at several RV Dealerships along our route in Wisconsin and Missouri. So far and these are our favorites.
Winnebago View 24M - MSRP $110,000
Winnebago Vista 26HE - MSRP $70,000
Leisure Travel Unity 24MB - MSRP $120,000
Thor Ace 27.1 - MSRP $91,000 (not in the video: this floor plan isn't out yet but we like the 29.1)
Thor Siesta 24SR - MSRP $108,000 (not in the video: each dealer we went to was sold of out, but that's a good sign I'm guessing) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I just spent time in the M/B Leisure 2013 with my mom. I love it!!! Soft corners, good space, smooth ride, classy. The negative is the swivel table & the 2 swivel chairs don't recline. Other than that, great time was had by all and am very happy with this unit and its quality.
Very much enjoyed your honest, highspeed comments on each coach. Good work!
It's so cool to look back at your old videos - this seems like a lifetime ago!
Wow 7 years ago. How time flies man.
Thank you for the fun presentations, you guys are great!
wow those things are ginormous, we used to camp in a vw camper back when i was a kid.
Just the cutest tiny people . . . you make any RV look palatial . . . I can't stop watching, so cute. Like kittens, but people.
Thank you! I just started looking at RV’s, and your comments are helpful,Plus you two are good speakers!
Long winded??? That was a perfectly timed presentation and some awesome insight as well. I know this comment is a year late but I wanted to say how much I appreciate the honest evaluation of each coach. Usually these videos are posted by dealers who, understandably, are very biased. To them everything is a pro, and there are never any cons. To have the opinion of someone who is actually living the RV Life is invaluable. Thanks- Looking forward to your new channel: Top RV Picks With The Wynns ;)
Steve Marks have you seen our RV smackdowns yet? Here's the newest one: www.gonewiththewynns.com/rv-smackdown-fleetwood-bounder-excursion-comparison
It may be an honest evaluation based on THEIR opinions. But I prefer to get the opinion from seasoned RV people!
I love the Mercedes one. That Murphy bed is excellent. I have no experience with it but it looks really cool.!!
I live full time in a leisure van and I find it quite fun we have bought a field that we park it in but go on long vacations. My wife does find the Murphy bed a bit annoying but she got used to it in 2 weeks or so. I would recommend the leisure vans any day.
carmfully, we agree! it was the Hymer that started our original RV search on a trip through Europe nearly 4 years ago. Love those little things.
I have a 26 foot Itasca Cambria-love it.
I've watched around 100 videos, in the past week at different RV's. Thanks, you made it funny and help me smile today. I'm looking at selling my house and travel, so all so looking for something just right for me.
I am one of the few, the proud, the bored (not really) who made it the end of the video and you guys are always worth watching to the bitter end. I chose the Chateau 23U for my first RV and so far, it's been an awesome experience. But this padawan has much to learn. So thank you (again) for your entertaining, enlightening and fun videos!
you for the education. I am just beginning to look and I learn a great deal from your videos. Thank you. Right now I am in love with the current Leprachaun model for a Class C vehicle, so I am glad to find out there are smaller RVs out there.
I like the murphy bed ... gives you dual purpose .. like the bathroom with the double mirrors and lots of storage. Good luck in your decision!
A super c could be a great bet.dynamax based on the ford 550 has a great look. Similar 550 base units even have king bed. You two are the most refreshing new image for the RV lifestyle
Really liked the third option. Well made compact design features fold up bed so you can enjoy that extra space during the day time the shower looked really nice too!
You guys are awesome! thank you for sharing this! We are following in your footsteps, so we are so thankful we got to see this!
Love those rv's!The tv hosts were great!
Hey Gone with the Wynns thanks for including the Unity MB in the top RV review! We're glad you enjoyed some of those features :). If anyone is interested in learning more about our Unity line, we cover all the different floor-plan options and features here: leisurevans.com/unity/. We hope the decision was a success you two. Cheers.
Y'all are great. Thank you for what you do. Y'all make it fun to shop for RV's
Thank you
I love the way you guys did this video. Straight to the point with each one and quite detailed. Great job.
ok ok.... I just bought a 1995 Georgie Boy Swinger.. 30 foot I think. The price was quite workable to give this full time RV living idea a fair shot. I might even think of starting a blog to find out if stating out at 70 years old has an interested following... Here I go..!!! BTW.. I have had this in mind as long as I have been following your web site.. a couple of years at least. Always enjoyed..Thank you
I like videos like this it helps me out on what type of RV I should purchase and what is livable for me. I wish there were more like this.
THANK YOU! :)
Jennifer,
Glad to help, we have a few more we're planning to film this summer! Make sure you subscribe to our website www.gonewiththewynns.com
That Leisure Travel class B+ is very nice! I like bells "bells & whistles", so the pop-up tv & the Murphy Bed sold me right away!
You guys are the first video of RV trips I have happened upon, and must say "your both really fun to watch"! ;) keep us going !
Having access to the bed from both sides is a BIG PLUS for a couple living in a RV.
Also look at Triple-e rv. They are related to leisure travel van. They are a Canadian company.
You guys are AWESOME!! Thank you for being under 65 and looking at RVs!! I love looking at them. My favorites are knaus line 650 to 800's there are SO COOL! They don't sell them here though. I have wanted one for so long. I just need to jump in. I'm so happy I found you guys!! Happy New Year!!
Glad to have you on board Trish! You can find a ton more info on our website www.gonewiththewynns.com
Great video review style. Going quickly through the RV features and overdubbing the narration. Very succinct, informative and easy to view - wish all reviews were like this. Cute perky couple too.
Never seen a freakin' MURPHY BED on an RV before! Suh-weet! :D
Juniper Jupiter You can easily get a manual Murphy frame that is economical and very functional...
Pleasure Way also does Murphy beds as well.
When you do reviews Please Add engine size (options )how many speeds (tranny ) MPG ,Floors ( made of covering Ect ) Thanks Allen
Very nice presentation! 😊
You both are made to do this. Great job.
I actually bought a Leisure Travel Van, the model in your video! I love it! The bed, if you want, can be left down during the day, depending on what you want to do. It's not a big deal to put it up & down though. The space it gives you, up, during the day is fabulous! I have always had BIG rigs, 38+ feet, diesel pushers what ever. This is an excellent small unit!
I like the last one.
The Leisurevan (last one) was my favorite, too. Heard mostly positive comments from you in the walk through. Really do think putting the banquette back in place each morning would soon become just routine; after all, it didn't seem to take any longer than making up a bed! CON: Have used many refrigerators, always HATE interior freezers. The fridges never seem to keep frozen food frozen and cold food warmer than frozen. Better upgrade that.
Great video you guys! I don't think it was long winded at all. Thanks for sharing your review of these affordable RV's. Keep up the great work!
Thanks. Your observations about storage and considerations regarding day-to-day tasks were very helpful.
+Trekker Mueth Awesome! Thanks for letting us know.
Cool look back in time and still fun. Thanks.
Wonderful! I too am looking for a live-aboard with 2 cats. I figure the overhead bunk space is theirs - who needs an entertainment system anyway?
You guys are really fun to listen to (and watch). Your video-review was very well done!!! All the best :)
+The Senior List Thanks :)
+Gone with the Wynns hey guys why are you worried about a black tank on the second one cause you guy use a composting toilet
Mercedes Benz Sprinters (RVs and non-RVs) are garbage in long term reliability/durability. They will eat your wallet till you kick the bucket.
sounds like somebody purchased a used one that got abused and wasn't properly maintained.....
I know two owners that will disagree with you.
Thank you. I need the space of my spsrtment, but I love watching these car, van, or RV videos.
I've been traveling for a year and a half now and my best advice is to stay as small as possible, there are many beautiful roads that are not accessible with big rvs and many campgrounds are the same and in many of them the maneuverability is very important especially after a long day of traveling, pulling in and setting up is so much better than unhooking sway bars, finding someone to spot you while you back up etc. Keep in mind that all the fancy gadgets aren't necessary and could break with huge expenses to fix so go simple.
Enjoy the Journey! Stevie and Suki
What size rv did you find to be the sweet spot for the challenging roads and campgrounds? I'm just starting to look into rv's and curious. I appreciate your time & suggestions.
Murphy bed is great option
I have no idea why this video was suggested by CZcams as I have no intentions of buying an RV (in the near future at least) and therefore haven't researched any related topics. Nevertheless I made it to the end of the video....in part because RVs are just fun, but largely because you two are adorable. I thought you put together a great little video. Keep making them....about anything.
yt recommending rv vids hmmmmmm wonder whyyyyyyy
hay Garrett I got to these guys I think by researching downsizing / tiny houses - but please tell me - how as a single Canadian woman with no kids at all (little own in the military or a motorcycle gang) do I get under recommended a video about a military funeral about to be interrupted by some crazy Westboro Baptists types but saved by a motorcycle gang who came and shielded family from protestors!?! ain't the internet wonderful!?
Elizabeth Johnston Yeah, but do not judge Christianity by those mean-spirited people. Read and believe the Word of God for the everlasting and glorious Gospel! Blessings.
thank you for making this video. very fun to watch . i like last rv the most
We bought a Thor Four Winds 26B in January. I realize now I should have gone with a Winnie Vista 29. Luv the swivel cockpit and room for our dogs beds.
Drinking game, every time Jason says pain in the butt take a shot.
Love this video, will be checking out more as we are interested in the 24-30 footers.
Love your on camera personalities, and that you give your opinions those little bitty things that make a big difference in day to day living. like the no slider in the deep cabinets.
You might be surpassed how valuable those observations are
Now I gotta go check your other vids out, hoping for a review of the Vegas/Axis by Thor.
Thanks again
You two are so cute! Hope you have fun with your new RV!
What I like s the hair flip!
Sweet!
Keep it long winded. The details make it much more useful.
you two are adorable i hope i can get a wife as cool as her some day
Great video! Keep us informed on your choice. She's a cutie so he's lucky!!! You'll find your dream RV be patient. And drive safe!!
Lol this came up on my feed, so funny to see these older videos
That bed at the end is awesome, I haven't seen that before. I don't know if I like the lack of privacy of a bedroom, but I would LOVE to see that in the back of an RV where the bedroom doubles as a living room. Has anyone seen anything like that?
Lazy Daze Class C has a wonderful mid-bath rear bedroom/sitting room with huge windows.
Gulf Stream Constellation has a fold up murphy bed with a TV under the bed.
*****
I saw your last name and smiled. I know someone with the last name Parenteau... not the same spelling of yours but super close.
***** Your name reminds me of a port I tried once made by the Mountain Men on a plateau.
*****
That's pretty neat! It's such an unusual last name but I like it. :D You have a good year, okay?
It's hard to get all the best features into one perfect little RV. I liked the first Winnie, but that sleeping arrangement would send me over the top. (or around the bend?) And I'm not terribly claustrophobic, but it wouldn't work. Middle of the night...I'd freak out.
The Class A was just too "cheap". Good luck trying to get a Class A under 70k. Too many corners to cut. (the plastic)
The Unity (or any of the Triple E products) are pretty awesome. HOWEVER, I'd stay away from the Merc. We have a Mercedes (love it) but the parts are indeed made of "unobtainium". So....deep pockets required.
Even though I'm not a huge Ford fan, I seem to think that last model does come on a Ford 350 chassis. Or maybe one of its cousins?
Worth a look. Good luck.
Oh, forgot to mention. The "Unity" products do appear to be proper four season vehicles. The way they are put together, nothing is going to freeze. There are a bunch of videos out there. The guy doing the presenting is a wee bit annoying, but worth watching. Search 2013 Regency GT24MB. You may have to mute "Dean" however. Just my humble opinion.
So used to seeing you on the boat.... nice.
It's been 9 years since I last watched this video and a LOT has changed in RV pricing!
Nearly every RV listed here is now going for literally DOUBLE what is listed here. That's just nuts!
Great video, did you make a video on the RV you finally picked out?
I really didn't like any of those RV'S shown for the money they were asking, way too over priced, plastic sinks lol!!
majorghn We have an entire RV Shopper Series on our site: www.gonewiththewynns.com/rvin
why does everyone think a RV is supposed to be as roomy as a house? how often do you use more than two burners at a time at home? Geesh cracks me up.
some people are full timers, room and residential type appliances are a necessity. Besides not everyone want to be jammed into 100 sq ft of space, that can be uncomfortable when it gets cold outside and you're not practically living outdoors...
Great video! You guys are terrific! Just looking at these, it's probably not a real consideration until we get all our kids through college but your comments and insights were great! Thanks!
I AM CRAZY ABOUT YOUR VIDEO. I HAD A BALL WATCHING.
How about under 30 grand? Or for around 15 grand? All of these are newer and expensive.
It's hard to build an RV that covers everybody's taste and needs.
As for buying new. You're throwing money away. Find a used one that best fits your likes. Them take the savings and do the improvements that you want. That extra $40k in saving can buy lots of improvements too. As 30k miles is nothing on an RV.
You're an idiot. If it's got 15k miles on it. Then it's either some cheap manufacture or it's been parked for 25 years.
Also motorhomes are designed to be driven. Not set in one place. If you want that buy a "Mobile Home". Which is kinda funny. The only thing mobile about them is they were moved once.
You're an idiot if you don't know what you're looking at or hire someone to inspect it that does.
And no I'm not going to cry like you. I know what I'm buying before I go lay down my money! You might try it.
Actually I work on them everyday. That's how I know you're a troll and at minimum an imbecile.
Good Luck
That's because you're an Idiot. Take a course in common sense.
Like I said. You're an idiot. As you lack the basic skills to comprehend a simple statement.
I would slap my teacher and ask the school for a refund. As none of them gave you an education.
Really enjoyed the video. It helped me purchase a Win View 24J! I just could not get out and see so many different Units this video gave me some good insight.
I love that this popped up in my suggested videos. Just look at yourselves. Did you ever dream you'd be where you are now? Keep on keepin' on!
Make a video with RVs that are about $70,000
Nice to see Audrey Hepburn still working, I don't think this is as good as Roman Holiday though.
lol, both presenters go to the same stylist
jayaybe1 that is exactly what I was going to reply. Near the end she commented about if people were still watching they must be interested. Exactly! She's prettier than Audrey Hepburn (never thought that could happen). Great video. Stay safe & God Bless. 🇺🇸
Archie,
the theory was we wanted to downsize from our 32 foot Windy...we originally considered the Breeze when purchasing Windy...kinda glad we didn't as we've heard the 28 size did not drive well due to it's small size and engine in the back. We did a comparison on our website if you're interested
gonewiththewynnsDOTcom/breeze-vs-vesta
Yeah, six years after the fact, but still a great review for someone (like me) looking for a good used coach. Excellent rapid fire sequencing with helpful little factoids along the way. Appreciate the youthful exuberance tied to experiential knowledge. I was very disappointed with the Vista expecting way more from Winnebago, but as you aptly explained, it was a price point build.
Do they make ANY motorhomes these days that have exterior paint jobs that arent reminiscent of a bad tribal tattoo or an airbrush t-shirt from the 90s? Im looking for something like an RV thats a solid color or just features a simple stripe down the side...
I've seen plenty of modern European and Asian motorhomes that fit this description, but can't find any companies that specialize in simple/contemporary design the US... do they exist?
Ande very few RVs out there have cool paint jobs...it's a real bummer.
I hear they can put speed holes in them if you want
Just ask the manufacture not to apply the decals. You will have a one color paint job...simple yet elegant!
and if I buy used I could heat the deccal and remove it? Thanks for the information!
Go get it wrapped with whatever design you would like.
Just seems like you shouldn't be getting plastic sinks and plastic faucets for that amount of money. Is that the norm?
Sometimes it is the norm, RV mfrs. try and hit a certain budget and certain things are skipped.
Yes seems to be the norm in mid level entry RVs.
That's funny that you guys were trying to picture where the kitty litter would go, I done the same thing! lol we recently bought a travel trailer, at first we were going to buy one where the litter box would have to go in the bathroom cupboard but we found a different model that we bought and our cat gets her own mini room, turning the top bunk into a area for her, removing the mattress and having her litter box, scratcher house and things like that up there and the bottom bunk will be for storage and guests
David you're right with us...we wanted to go smaller but after careful consideration we decided Windy was still the best option for us.
I made it to the end just for the fact that she is Adorable! omg so cute.
+dan sprouse Isn't she though. I checked cute in the dictionary and her picture came up.
+dan sprouse she is adorable.. but whats up with her "husband"? im wondering what planet he came from...
maybe she just really "don't'' like men
+thomas godfrey easy guys don't be haitin
Chris Hollandsworth if we are "chubby chasers" then why do we think she is cute? & you have to be so belligerent? I don't understand what even makes your point & to feel so strongly over such a small comment as "she's cute"? Take your meds
Thanks for the informative videos, and by the way she is so cute to watch, him not so much,,
They’re both adorable--and absolute naturals
I love the positivity and to the point. Sub'd! Stay blessed.
thanks that help me on what type of RV i should get in the future loving the vids
Are u serious? I thought RVs were WAYY more expensive lol. If I were u guys I would just buy a used one and renovate the heck outa it lol
In 2.5 year from this video date I predict you will sell your RV and buy a catamaran. ;)
How did you guess :)
I call it "a gift". The wife calls it, "Well no sh** captain obvious".
Gone with the Wynns n
Watch your channel regularly, keep up the good work .
I loved the last one.
It's just foolish to buy these things new they depreciate faster than snow mobiles, Dirt Bikes, and Boats used is they way to go. Buy your RV in Florida and and pick them up cheap when some old fart croaks...
maybe someone will buy your old mans
As a young fart, I'll remember that tip.
I agree with buying used. We went to PPL in Houston and found the PERFECT Class C for us. Twenty-eight foot Citation on E-450 chassis. So much fun and met some wonderful people.
well reasoned and spoken.
Dead guy deals are the best. As long as someone found the body before the sun hits the rig.
This women is really classic .. really love to spend few weeks with her on any RV .
Thanks for sharing!
You guys were great!
She is cute
Which is why she's married.
Nobody Important LOL good one
It's funny how you guys say that these are affordable... These motor homes are costing more than people make in a year😑
So it's a house they live in it
People advise that you house should be 5 time your yearly salary
The average salary is about 50,000 so while it may not be affordable to some more people can buy this and work with it
$70k isn't that bad if your job requires a lot of travel and you're okay living tiny. Yes it's more than one makes in a year, but... that's what a loan is for right?
okay but most Americans dont make 50k or 70k .... most incomes are under 35k.... just saying
yes, which means you could have this paid off in 4 years maybe. especially if you share the expense with someone else.
If you are working for a company that requires the travel, they reimburse you for the gas/diesel, so... you don't pay money on that. Your bills would literally only be the RV, and the replacement for water (most of these newer RV's either have lithium batteries or solar panels or sometimes both so you'd never need to plug into something to charge the batteries, you just let the engine run) every 3-6 months an oil change and whatever food you eat. You could save a lot of money in the end because you're not paying a high sewage/water/electricity/gas bill
Unfortunately, you sir are correct.
Really glad I stumbled upon your channel. I'm single (sigh), retired, and love to travel. Been looking at RV's.. and just a quick glance at your website shows you cover some of the many questions I have. You have a new fan. Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by to say hi, We have loads more info on our website if you want to check it out: www.gonewiththewynns.com
Great Video guys. I have seen many videos of this type but yours is very very good . On point.
Your not seriously going to spend that much on a new RV...
Obviously they have the money to spend or they would not have been looking at an RV at $70,000-100,000.
I can understand your point but it's their money and as they say, you can't tale it with you. You know there is quite a big RV industry a lot of people buy them, some one has to. They are downsizing and that is going to save money running the thing
If its gonna be a home, why not. Current housing markets throw 100k around like pocket change.
Paul Gloor They stay in the rv year-round and don't own a house so it makes perfect sense to me.
I bet they don't have the money for any of those, they just wanted to waste the people's time so they could make their little video. Pretending to be serious buyers
i bet they save alot of money buy getting a 2 for 1 haircut as well
I would sue
dfin100 --- Nikki does her own hair and Jason's, also.
dfin100 rude
We love the LTV models, they seem to be high in quality and packed with features. Another brand to look at is Sportsmobile and GTRV. They are custom vans and cost about the same as an LTV but they are made for your specific needs. Good luck.
Yup, that was interesting, thanks for sharing
A millennial that cooks a lot? OMG is there such a thing? lol
I enjoyed it all thank you for making this
Awe babies.....love your sailing vids and this popped up in my feed. lol
I love the #3.. is good. it is like sprinter is very good save diesel, well i love
