Thank you westcoasttanker! This pumpkin took me a few hours to do, but I have lots of fun doing it that it doesn't feel like much to me. If you are even just a little inclined to do this just do it. Just start by carving whatever comes to your mind and then just improve from there. Having the right tools really helps but it's not a requirement. Art comes from you not the tools. If you like good tools, the tools I use, there is the link in the video's description.
+Roee Hero I could of... but that wasn't what I was looking for. To do that you have to carve the pumpkin deeper so that the light could shine through better.
Great Job Paul! I ordered Ray's DVD as well as the tools this week. I know it's a bit late, but I will have 5 pumpkins after Halloween to play around with. Keep up the good work!
Ashley Geissler if you look below the video description, there I have a link to the exact same tools I use. Thank you for the question and for watching my little video!
Thank you very much Rachel! I have not done much after I am done other than take a picture to save and preserve it that way! I am in the process of trying something I learned on the internet by submersing the finished pumpkin in a formula of one table spoon of chlorine to one gallon of water for a few minutes and then spraying it with a mixture of vinegar and lemon to keep the freshly carved look. I am not sure if that works but I want to try that on my next pumpkin. Thank you for asking though.
Thank you itsthedaveshow! And congratulations on winning the contest! I really love everyone's talent I've seen here in CZcams. There is a lot of amazing work. I will venture to say that mine is not even close to some of what of these guys and gals can do! Amazing really!
Sorry, one of my first pumpkin carving videos, I was a bit of a rookie! My last video I made it was a bit better, I hope! czcams.com/video/cgWE49uXyYQ/video.html

JennaBabe85 I really appreciate the the positive comments, but I am not really that much of an artist! I really would love to be awesome, but in my eyes, I am just lucky I am even able to do what you've seen me do. I think anyone can do what I do... if you think I am good, you should look at some of what some of the people here in CZcams can really do... they're the ones who have awesome talent! But I thank you for your support... thank you, thank you!
To tell you the truth, I am not sure Stephen Chewning ! My experience is that I never clean the inside because that is not what I am trying to do. I am not trying to add light to it or anything like that. My main goal is to carve out something cool and I don't worry so much about the rest. Plus in some carvings it wouldn't work because you carve higher on the top of the pumpkin and it wouldn't work if you had opened it up to clear the inside. Thanks for the question though.
Not very long ***** not very long at all! I am in the process of trying something I read on the web about dunking the pumpkin in a chlorine and water mix (one table spoon for every gallon of water) and then ,after it dries, spray it with a mix of lemon juice and vinegar. I'll post the results either way. But the only way I know how to preserve 3-D pumpkins is by taking a picture... or in this case make a video. ; )
Sitting here shaking my head and jaw dropped in amazement !! You must be a clay modeler for a car industry or something !!?? What a beautiful job friend, thank you
Thank you very much Ralph james! I really appreciate your nice comment, but I just started to carve last year! I never new I had that talent until then. This is my second year carving pumpkins and, no, I don't work with anything artsy at all at this point, but I am starting to think, that, maybe I should! : ) Thank you though!
Paulo Machado YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME RIGHT !!!!!! This is only 2nd year doing this ?!?!?! Than yes....please go and pursue something along this line of work because your amazing. HAPPY HALLOWEEN FRIEND !!
+Noice I used these tools: amzn.to/2evyOHB follow the link. They are Ray Villafane's pumpkin carving tools. I recently found Triangle fruit carving tools; they're a lot more expensive but you have a lot more durability: amzn.to/2eFLR8c checked them out on Amazon. Let me know which way you go and what kind of results you get!
+Rachel Orr Yea... I wish I had other choices, but when it comes to adding music to CZcams videos one must be careful not to add music that has copy rights! Sorry!
I wear headphones when on my laptop so wen I clicked on ur vid it was really loud! lol. But yeah cool vid and you are very talented. Especially like the teeth.
Lol... Thank you... I know exactly what you mean! It is a bit loud right off the get go... That was one of my earliest videos so I was still a bit of a rookie, since I've gotten a bit better and the sound in my videos has gotten better over the years. It's a work in progress... Lol

Paulo Machado you could've drilled holes on the side of the pumpkin so it could be a jack o lantern
+Roee Hero I could of... but that wasn't what I was looking for. To do that you have to carve the pumpkin deeper so that the light could shine through better.

Thank you very much Rachel! I have not done much after I am done other than take a picture to save and preserve it that way! normal speed would have helped to see detail, and loose the music. Nice shoulder angle I could see right through you!

is there an advantage to not clearing out the inside of the pumpkin?
To tell you the truth, I am not sure Stephen Chewning ! My experience is that I never clean the inside because that is not what I am trying to do. I am not trying to add light to it or anything like that. My main goal is to carve out something cool and I don't worry so much about the rest. Thanks for the question though.
got ya . right on thank you for getting back to me
How could you preserve something like that?
The best way I found was to make a video and take photos, other than that there's little you can do to make them last any more than a week.
how do you get the pumpkin dry?
Where can you get that carver ?
Below the video description there's a like to Amazon where they sell it!
How long do 3D carvings last?
Not very long ***** not very long at all! Where dose one find crappy music like this?
+Chuck Pringle it's easy really! What's hard is to find good music that has no copyright issues with!
