Written, shot and directed by High Contrast himself, this is the official video for "High Contrast feat Tiësto and Underworld - The First Note Is Silent", the new single from High Contrast on Hospital Records out 31.10.11.
Following his collaboration "Scribble" on Underworld's album "Barking" last year, and his remix of Tiësto's "Kaleidoscope" in 2009, the Cardiff based producer behind such contemporary classics as "Racing Green", "If We Ever" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" is back to take up his rightful place as one of UK dance music's elite.
The First Note Is Silent" will be the first single from High Contrast new album, which is due out February 2012 on Hospital. The track is a superb demonstration of his ear for a good hook bringing in the talents of stadium trance maestro Tiësto and legendary UK electronic outfit Underworld.
Expect soaring, feel-good synths with the uplifting rush of Tiësto's trademark trance, euphoric piano keys, pounding drums and yearning polished vocals from Karl Hyde in "The First Note Is Silent", gelled together in with the expansive widescreen production for which High Contrast has become known.

Think of it as a ‘you scratch my back and I scratch yours’ kind of thing. It’s a HC one (and absolutely wank by his high standards) but Tiesto contributed and is credited as a co-writer.

I'm sorry, but this is just the best music can get, this song for some reason makes me emotional. Thankyou High Contrast/Tiesto/Underworld for delivering the best piece of music I have ever heard.
The majority seems to be straight onto hating High Contrast. He's made epic tunes which have sparked a new generation of Drum and Bass and in my view, this is going to do the same.
The DnB portion is by one of the greatest DnB producers out there. He also happened to produce & direct this video. Guess Who?

I have been listening to this tune for the last MONTH and I still am not getting bored!!
The video isnt some kind of narrative story (apart from maybe the tubby guy) its a collection of scenes that imo sum up different aspects of life. Childhood innocence (kids playing), a mothers love for a child (girl playing with daughter), going wild and partying (club scene), Having fun with friends (shopping trolley), struggling to master something (guy with violin), feeling guilt in the face of God (crying guy) and the emptyness of knowing death is coming (tubby guy). That's why it's awesome.
Tiesto + High Contrast = MINDBLOWNED. Even better than Kaleidoscope..
God how i love this song. I listen to it when i am jogging and when it goes to chorus all my body hair just get up, then the chorus start and i just have to run on full throttle feeling like in some movie or something. Pure euphoria.
