Jimin since age 11-12 studied, performed, & competed (winning every competition) in hip hop, popping, & street dancing. He attended the renowned Busan Just Dance Academy while also going to middle school. He then went on to study contemporary dance. He attended Busan High School Of The Arts where he also studied some ballet & traditional dance. Since enrolling he had always top honors, not just in the arts but academically as well always getting top perfect scores, excelling in both math & science, which is the reason Jimin was always Class president for 9 years attending schools. When he performed at a Busan special festival concert event the media called him afterwards "The rising star of Busan") Jimin even had an offer to go overseas and dance but turned it down since he wanted to be a singer as well!! A dance instructor said in dismay at the time "the world of dance is going to lose a great artist". So Jimin went to Seoul and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment who signed him. Jimin was the very last member to join BTS, so he only had not even 6 months as a trainee before they debuted, which is pretty much unheard of for Idols!! Even so BigHit gave him the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist since the very beginning when they debuted!
Jimin also since a little boy, for 8 years trained in various forms of martial arts. He has blackbelts in Taekwondo and Kumdo (Korean form of kendo). Jimin was so good that he was offered a scholarship to go to China to study more extensively! Jimin has been able to incorporate all the various dance styles he's learned as well as his martial arts training into his own unique stunningly amazing dancing abilities that stand out and one can't help but notice when he performs! His stage presence is undeniably! Jimin has such amazing inner core strength (probably from all those years of martial arts training) that allows him to do gravity defying moves that most other dancers are unable to do! So many other Kpop idols look up to him. He was even voted by a poll and given the title of the King of Kpop this year!!

Jimin has had a lot of dance experience before BTS so yes he was a dancer. He did popping when he was younger and ended up the top student at this contemporary dance school which is a well known dance school in Korea. So yea he can dance. 😂

He is a top contemporary student in his school, and also his teacher was the one who push him to audition to bighit when bighit was forming a group at that time and that group is BTS.. So yess he is born a dancer, and he is known for his dramatic contemporary moves that can freestyle every time without learning. He just learned to sing when he was official part of the group. But then he was very insecure with his voice😔 which is we fans are very sad about that, he work hard abt his singing and his voice, but then he is just very hard on himself. But luckily now his very confident and about his voice and he is very happy now, and we're also abt that.

sunnysmile Yes! If I recall correctly, it was like only a couple of years of contemporary ballet...which is part of why he pushed so hard to rehearse, if I remember right.
But what KILLS ME? is that he ALSO kept up great marks in his other classes. I read something from his lead teacher, who said it was typical for the dancers to just ‘get by’ with the other stuff. Jimin is just a walking all-kill.
@@sunnysmiledaisy3184 probably he knows how to do hiphop cuz when you say contemporary its a dance that full of emotions when you say hiphop its a dance that full of hardness. When you know how to do a contemporary automatically you know how to do hiphop, because iys not all about hiphop, becuase there's a lot of hiphop dancers that dancing all the time but dont have an emotion when they are dancing, but jimin knows how to deliver emotion even if he is dancing hiphop. Because you can't learned how to dance without contemporary emotions. Becuase i am a contemporary dancer also and hiphop dancer..

Jimin was, and obviously still is, a professional dancer BEFORE joining Big Hit (hip-hop, popping, contemporary with some ballet and Korean traditional dance) and he also was a top martial arts student (Kumdo, Hapkido and Taekwondo)! He’s absolutely great and overwhelmingly talented!
I got to see jimin perform this live in concert at MetLife stadium. Close to the stage it was one of my favorite parts of the concert

Jimin, like J-hope, was a dancer at first. Both learned to sing after joining BTS. They have the very different styles and you can tell when you see them but they are all amazing.

I have been requesting this to you for so long. Thank you Justin for finally seeing this on his birthday and you even reacted on it together with your beautiful sister!Jimin is truly an exceptional artist. His talent is beyond amazing! A world class. His vocal & dance skills have became the standard for Kpop idols, the reason why many rookie idols looks up on him as a role model. Jimin even at a young age already learned dancing in various genres. He's also active in sports especially in martial arts. He don't have any singing background & only trained for months but despite of it, the lead vocalist & main dancer official position has been given to him because of his natural talent & dedication of practicing. I read someone already provided some of his background info so I have to stop here before I create my own essay..lol😂

Jimin started dancing in middle school, he was attending popping classes and then he was a top student in contemporary dancing in his art school. Actually his teacher told him that he should audition as an idol and he had no background in singing.

I went to the Rose Bowl concert! My god, soooo worth it. Doesn’t feel like a concert- feels like a whole festival. You can feel how much they enjoy what they do & the people who support them. Also being apart of the show is beautiful with the army bombs, it’s just. Such an experience. All the fans were orderly & fun! One of the workers said he’s never seen so many people in the 12 years he’s worked there without there being an opening group before the main.
You have to listen to Jimins High notes in „let me know“
Jimin voice is just so beautiful. he does get down when his voice cracks but we ARMY try sending him messages that we actually appreciate when it does because it proves that he is singing live and that he is human ( because he can be to much sometimes 😉). but we leave comments all time that we need to hear less back track ..obviously sometimes if dance prevents him from singing like those few sec while doing the floor dance, he will let the back track do its work...but he goes back to live vocals ... once you are a fan for a while and can recognize their voices and how the original song is supposed to sound like you can catch the imperfections better ( so we know when to encourage them )

I got to see them perform at MetLife. Seeing them live still feels like it was just a dream. Jimin and J Hope were both dancers before joining BTS.
Jimin and Jhope were the only two with any previous background in dance before joining bts.
Jimin was a ballet and contemporary dancer before he was a Kpop Idol. He trained over 5 hours as a trainee and practiced singing for over 3 hours. He also he had to go to school and do homework too. He had to learn hip hop too. He barely slept so he could train his dancing and vocals.
Jimin was a part of a modern dance group in korea before he became a trainee, that's why when he became a trainee he was so struggled a lot on how to dance a freestyle but then he practice more and more till he made it and now he is a good dancer.. Very good 👍
He was in contemporary dancing then when joined, focused on both vocals and moves.

Yes he was a contemporary dancer in high school 1st in his class before joining bts his teacher was the one who pushed for the audition
He also learned hip-hop, ballet, korean traditional dance, modern dance, jazz.... he actually masters 8 types of dance that's why he is one of the best dancers in kpop and earned his position as a main dancer in bts(he also somtimes help in some of the choreographies)

Yes. He was an amazing dancer before joining Big Hit and BTS. The best in the academy. I went to their concert in Metlife and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. In the first songs, I jumped a lot and my energy was super high and euphoric but in serendipity, it was the first time that I cried. I'm a dancer and that choreo it's beautiful. I love it so much and he gives me a vibe that idk how to explain it but wow. I want to learn it.

jimin was a dancer first, and when he joined the band, he said he’d join as a rapper but they said no, and that he had to learn to sing. so he did, from scratch, and now we have jimin.

Yess he was a dancer before. He is an AMAZING contemporary dancer that can manipulate any type of dance style tbh. And he had no vocal training whatsoever when he joined BTS
He's also a hip hop street style dancer which he learned way before learning contemporary dance.

I love Serendipity. I think it is my favorite track from their Love Yourself: Her album. Most of the kpop groups that I love DON'T lip sync. Sometimes, groups (including BTS) may lip sync on certain shows (like first showcase) or the backtrack is much louder than usual. I highly recommend that you check out other amazing groups like Shinee (I recommend starting with their debut song 'Replay' and one of their most recent songs 'Good Evening'), Super Junior ('Sorry Sorry Answer' and 'This is Love') and more EXO (they are super talented vocalists as well). Also, my favorite current day artist is AKMU (a brother-sister duo). The brother composes most (if not all their songs) and the sister has an incredible voice. I HIGHLY recommend checking out their song 'DINOSAUR'.

Both Jimin and J-hope were dancers before BTS. He started with popping then studied contemporary dance that's why he's really smooth and fluid. J-hope, on the other hand, was a locally famous street dancer and he specialized in popping and locking and more hip hop based dances that's why his moves are very sharp. Both of them are very open to other genres of dance and are quick to learn dance moves.
