I've owned this saw for about 6 months with semi-daily use. Absolutely no issues and very little fence calibration was needed. Can't beat it for the money. I don't seem to have nearly as many issues out of the box as you did here.

@@jsully4074 Absolutely... I got the red Skil thanks to Mike's review and two other well known channels. And I'm very happy with it. If I had a few more dollars and didn't need other tools, I would have went with either the Skilsaw Worm drive (the silver one Mike pulls out) and if I had a few more bucks above that, the DeWalt 7491. I got the Skil table saw and dual bevel mitre 10" for the price of the Skilsaw. I also needed a mitre, if the mitre wasn't needed, Skilsaw.

So I just bought this for $299 inside track club (265 after CC earnback and Birthday coupon) looked for an unboxing video, watched yours and said "oh crap what have I done". Since there is a restock fee on this item and I had opened the box I thought I might as well set it up and look for myself.
First, your unit was defective, the bevel should lock fine as mine did and the store models did out of the box without adjustment. I'd have taken it back. My saw had virtually none of the issues you had with yours. Mine is a very good saw at a hard to beat price point for a rack and pinion fence table saw. It is unfortunate that many will miss out now on a really good deal because a reviewer got a lemon.

I typically recommend people watch some review videos before purchasing things. This one changed the way I see youtube review videos. If you like this saw and are interested in it, you definitely gonna dig more into different reviews. Then you will find it's very easy and straightforward to calibrate the blade. I found most of the good reviews about this saw are from people who really use it daily and had it for a while and have some experience with it. The instruction may suck if they don't mention how to calibrate it but will it stop you make a purchase? I don't think so. Dewalt 10" is 550 before tax most time, I got this one for 319 before tax, and this one is still a lot cheaper for me. Will this $200 difference make a huge difference? Probably not, they are all job site table saw not alien technology, I found this saw very solid and cut very well, and the blade it attached is very good too! I like most of the videos from him, but this one makes me think more since it's very different from my experience. For a table saw, if you are really interested in it you need to watch videos that tell you their experience and tricks about the saw, not an "open box" review. I am not blaming or criticizing the channel, this is a good channel, but like most of the CZcamsr that just do reviews about products, they can't use it for too long, not to mention this is a table saw not a trash can, most of the time they open it, play with it a couple days or even one afternoon, then started preparing the video, it's just what it is I think, nothing wrong, but if you really like it, dig into it more and just purchase it, it's pretty good and price reasonable since they have sales very often. Actually, I recommend all Hercules wired tools, I found them solid and price friendly.

The skil ts6307 is cheaper than the hercules and it probably a better saw too. More and easier adustments, including for the riving knife, and an integrated stand. The cut width indicator is much easier to read as well. The only problem is that the push stick is in the bottom of the front face, so it's a little hard to reach when you're making a cut. You should use an aftermarket push stick anyway so it shouldn't matter at that point, but that's a consideration.

my wife and i have been building our dream home of 2400sqf for the last 2 year's the entire frame is LVL the floors- roof- doors and door frame's are all 3/4 marine plywood 78k in lumber we built it with this hercules table saw and the Chicago electric sliding chop saw with no problems. it doesn't matter what class of jobsite table saw you buy they are all made in China and come out of the same factory and depending on what brand they are making them for you could pay up to 100 dollar's more per inch on the rip capacity and still your only gonna get a certain amount of hours of run time out of them it's that simple. after building a 2400sqf home they are tired so if you are a contractor your getting new saws every year if your a handyman every 3-5 and if your a DIYer they will last you a life time.

Yup i am with you, its not the tool but the person using it. Years ago i bought a CE miter saw for short money because wasn’t sure how much I’d use it but was building a shed. Use it with great success for about 5 years making accurate cuts, did i need to check and spend a but more time making sure accurate yes but i find myself still checking on my new nice miter. You give me this saw and DeWalt i guarantee i will get the same accuracy put of both. I have bought some expensive tools, own several DeWalt and guess what i always find something that is cheap on all of them. My DeWalt drill driver smells of burnt electronics every time I use it and to be honest I like my Kobalt better. For the price there is nothing wrong with this saw but people feel the need to carry yellow or red tools, it just makes them good about themselves. And for all you pro’s that come on and say “this wont last to everyday use and abuse of a jobsite”. Have you used it found that guessing no.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews I paid $250 when it first came out. I'm on my second one cause a buddy of mine broke a piece of the fence on my first gen, I went in seeing if I could get exchange my fence with a display model but they ended up giving me this 2nd gen. I miss my first gen, it felt more solid than this one. The feet were solid rubber not cheap plastic, the bevel stayed in place it didn't slide out when you loosen the lock (btw yours seems loose), the fence lock didn't snap open it was a nice tight action, the shroud on the bottom of the blade was metal not plastic and the dust port was I think a full 4" because I remember having to duct tape my ridgid vacuum to the port.
They are good jobsite saws, as long as the blade is good they don't bog down. Riding mounts and unmount quickly for those peculiar cuts.

BLADE ADJUSTMENT...You can adjust the blade run out on the HERCULES 10 inch table saw (HE77). I adjusted mine and now it makes very precise and square cuts.....Take a look at the video that I have to show how. Written instructions below and in the description of my video.
For BLADE ADJUSTMENT....underneath the saw table there are 2 allen head bolts at each end of the blade carriage (underneath the front and rear of the table saw).
Loosen all 4 bolts very lightly, they need to be more than finger tight but no so tight that it will not allow movement.
Then loosen to finger tight one of the allen head bolts on the saw carriage where you want to make adjustment and then use a large screwdriver to gently pry the carriage to the left or right as needed for adjustment of your saw while checking the blade run out compared to the miter slots.
It took me a while to get mine set but it is worth it..makes precise square cuts now.

Nice to see details that may be overlooked with a casual examination while on the display shelf.
It would seem the manufacturing design and production could benefit from leveling-up to a higher quality standard.
Is it intended for building cabinets? Perhaps not. But, as you've revealed, there are enough flaws in this gem to lower its value-for-the-money.

While the Kobalt's fence isn't the best, the rest of the saw is decent and it comes with a built-in stand. Clamping the fence down is a common solution to the fence's flaw(s).

I am in California, so I have trouble accepting the price you say you payed for yours sorry! I had a Dewalt table saw and had to replace the motor $327.98. I havent used it yet, but I've toyed around with it for a few hours. The saw I have doesnt have the issues that yours does, and as far as the blade tightening goes, the manual states in caps DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. I don't know enough about these to understand why. I'd certainly agree with you that the manual is badly lacking in detail and a couple of the drawings are very bad. I plan on bolting it to a mobile stand. We'll see how it goes. Thanks. I wonder how many people use a dado stack in these portable table saws? I've never felt the need, or ever wanted to try...I've used a dado stack on my old Ridgid TS3612 a few times, but it seems like the time it takes to swap from the standard blade, to a dado stack I could have the dado already done LOL. Probably some people who do these things all the time would be quite a bit faster, but I don't swap blades very often at all, so its quite time involved for me HAHA!!
I have the regular Skil portable table saw with the folding legs type stand, the TS6307 model. It works great, and honestly isn't too bad for the price. I'd love one of those Skil worm drive table saws though. I don't see $400+ in that Hercules saw....I had an old Chicago Electric branded table saw from HF, that thing was a joke all around...you may as well skip the fence and miter gauge because neither were accurate...the motor/arbor bearings, I think they forgot those and it was extremely loud too. Back then I think it was like $100 for that saw, and at that price it was about $80 too much LOL. Glad to know they're not much better now. I have a couple of the Chicago Electric Miter Saws which have proven to be much better, and at least several adjustments to get them to be accurate....most people don't bother taking the time to do any adjusting of them, and complain they're not accurate...well they're typically not out of the box, but at least they have instructions on how to adjust them LOL...unlike that $400 table saw.

While I grant that the Chicago Electric portable table saw from Harbor Freight isn't the best, I also know my Dad purchased one and put it to good use in 2016.
My Wife and I had just bought a home and my Dad generously volunteered to fix a number of cosmetic and weather-tight issues with it, primarily with the exterior window framing.
He used the saw to cut sections of PVC and replace pieces of rotting wood.
My Dad bought a multi-thousand dollar table-saw for his basement, and he had the $$ to get what he wanted when it came to shopping for tools.
But, for whatever reason, he felt the low-budget Chicago Electric was good enough to use as a jobsite saw for commuting to our home and working out of the back of a pick-up truck.
Essentially, he made it work good-enough for his purposes.
I've since purchased a Kobalt portable jobsite table-saw for my own casual D.I.Y. purposes.
      Not the best? Sure.
The fence is the achilles heel of it, but the rest is okay in my opinion. Clamping the fence down solves the drifting fence concern, though.
My work-space is small, so rolling the saw outside is how I gain work-space for my projects.
Everyone has their own criteria. :-)

From the looks features and form factor it looks like they tried to copy/ compete with the dewalt dwe7485 (the smaller 8 1/4" table saw which I own). It's priced kind of similar as well. Just seems like they lacked the engineering and or manufacturing capabilities to make a finished product worth the money. The lack of adjustment alone is quite telling, as even if it was super complex and hard to do at least it would show they thought about it. So much for them trying to go into "professional tools market".

I appreciate your review. However, I can clearly see you definitely received a defective product. I just bought mine for $299 being a HF member. Did my inspection, and it works perfect, Out the box! Powerful! However, I wish the rip was longer... but for $299 + tax. No complaints here! I don't need wheels, so I don't need the Dewalt (DWE7491RS). I would have liked it hold a dadoes blade set. But for $299 No complaints. I'll just use my router which cuts dadoes cleaner anyway. In comparison to other models with no wheels and inferior cheap blades but higher cost, you will not find the same $299 price point and quality in the market as of today. If you want wheels/mobility, and 32-1/2 Inch Rip capacity, then buy the Dewalt (DWE7491RS) built in Taiwan. Most people rip long lengths with a tract saw anyway. So, for me this Hercules table saw is a slam dunK! and its perfect for my garage shop with the 40 tooth Hercules blade that cuts like a beast. I will also add that I have been a HF fan for decades and have seen the HF BAUER and HERCULES PRO contractor line get distributed to market. I own different types of equipment from both lines and none of them have broken on me for the last few years. Imo, the HERCULES line is equal or better to DEWALT table saws without wheels, apples to apples and other manufactures but much less expensive. Customers need to go buy and use HERCULES LINE to be convinced of the quality, performance and the good price point they provide. The days are OVER when you need to spend more to purchase the same foreign quality-built products. Thanks to good competition like HF HERCULES we have more options at better prices. If you guys go to the link for HF reviews on this HE77 Hercules model, you will see 96% percent of customers recommended this table saw with 478 customers giving it 5 perfect stars with only 11 (1) star reviews as of March 10th, 2024 and that's not including the thousands of customers who don't even make the time to post their honest review. They have a bundle that comes with the stand, 12amp Highoutput, and charger for $730 seems like a decent bundle/investment. Lame review! No adjustments - not true. You can adjust blade so it's in parallel to the miter gauge slots the same way as you would do with DeWalt. Just because owner manual does not say anything about it that doesn't mean it's not possible. Reviewer should have done a better research. Skill saw (not a warm drive version) that he recommends over Hercules has plastic gears that run on metal gears. Blade bevel lock mechanism, mine was as tight out of the box as his after the adjustment. I've had that saw for over two years and never had an issue with blade bevel lock mechanism, it stays locked. Does DeWalt have the same thing with blade bevel lock mechanism? Rack and pinion fence is not smooth - put some oil on its tracks and it will be smooth. Seems like reviewer is biased against harbor freight tools or Hercules brand, or Skill Saw company paid him more for the review. He didn't say anything about plastic gears on Skill Saw when he did Skill Saw review.
