Your book turned out great! I'm going to give it a try but instead of just a random book was thinking of using a photo album or maybe a scrap book. I have 3 grandchildren (4,4,6 yrs) and I was thinking that my daughter's could use it to keep a record of them in their Halloween costumes and any Fall/Halloween activities

You could tea stain the edge of the pages as well to make it look even older :)
How do you do that if you don't mind me asking
Just as it sounds. Used tea bags not soaking wet, Pat around the edges of the pages and let dry. Or you can just use paint until you are happy with the results. But paint won't look as authentic.
I was thinking the same thing as she was doing the video, or find an old book at goodwill or something.
Absolutely right. I will do this project. thanks for the tip. The tea stain is easy and gives this natural old looking book.
You can use brown paper bags for covering the book, tear it up and soak in the glue, squeeze it out and stick to the book, free from your local grocer and it's already brown.
Shawn Sisler ...great idea! I used plain brown wrapping paper. Looks like real leather “skin.”
I was thinking this book was going to be just “ok” but you really blew me away with how close it resembles the real one! I love your idea of using the already made snakes!

I know it looks simple, but I have learned my lesson that some people have a natural hack for dabbing paint/shading/etc... tiny things that seem simple, but then after trying it myself, it turns out wonky. 😂

I did the same. I used jute string/twine for the "stitches". Just cut them in small pieces

This turned out really well!!! I would love to use an actual journal. This would be so fun to use during fall and winter with a warm cup of coffee ☕️ Just random writing or important list. Either way, this was a great tutorial!!!✨🌟✨

Liked your tutorial and the book looks great ... one point you might think about..... as a viewer it would be better for us if you camera was shooting over your shoulder.... it helps when you can see the technique you use for brushing, gluing, painting etc. instead of holding up the finished product. Otherwise, great job and tutorial.... have subscribed and look forward to more sessions on your site. Thanks again.

This is SO COOL!! I love Hocus Pocus, too, so I was thrilled when a cable TV channel played it daily in October last year and then all day on Halloween! I'm going to look for the supplies at Dollar Tree and Walmart today to make my own BOO-OOK!!
One thing, though...the music during the fast-motion segments is a little loud and annoying. I kept having to adjust the volume up and down between the music and spoken sections.
