David Bowie - Queen Bitch - live 1972 (rare footage / 2018 edit)

- Well it's been so long...
Due to life getting in the way, it's been nearly a year since my last Bowie video upload , but I wanted to put together something special in time for what would have been David's 71st birthday. So here it is.
I've created this edit with love and effort from various rare clips which I've collected over the many years I've been a Bowie fan. The clips originally had no audio and so I've synched them with the 1972 performance of 'Queen Bitch' from the Santa Monica live album.
As Bowie never performed this song the same way twice (often switching lines around), the synching proved to be a challenge but I'm reasonably happy with the way it has turned out.
I hope you'll like it too. Crank it up loud and enjoy! - Hudba
I feel like artists had more fun and freedom than now because it just seems so much more fun.
I think it might be that they were more daring... At least ones like Bowie
Excellent fun fun fun ... I hope my YT Bowie songs makes him smile from far far away.
Nah it was cos They were all stoned. Not a Good way to be. Bowie Said So Himself Years later. It Seems Like Fun but the dark Side destroys Lives and Relationships . Wise Man Mr. Bowie ❤
Hunky Dory forever, and forever Bowie 💜

Punk rock Bowie!!!
Excellent ... I hope my YT Bowie songs makes him smile from far far away.
I was a young teen when Bowie was jamming this stuff. I believe that's when he was at his best. I'm glad that he kept this stuff live as close to as it was recorded. Bands in the 70s many were good for that. They wanted the people to hear and experience what they were so use to listening to with their album's and then to finally get to experience the show along with it. A true artist and professional. Long live the 70s.
Wow! Is David ever stunning to look at!
The man who changed my life
Also, in case you guys don’t know, there is a documentary about David Bowie tomorrow (1/8/18) about David Bowie, called David Bowie: The Last Five Years on HBO, in case you wanna watch it...just letting you all know...btw I live in SoCal, so I don’t know what time it would be if you live in another time zone, sorry😬
I miss him more everyday..
I find Bowie’s eyeshadow is so mesmerizing
all these early shows take me back to seeing the spiders for the first times , 72/73 and the energy is captured so well !!
Yes, great stuff! Welcome back, buddy. I've been lonely without you!!
Thanks Nacho! You've been doing a wonderful job over the last year : )
Thanks! Hope to see more from you this year.
I love that my two fave sources of Bowie video magic are buddies on CZcams. You guys are awesome by the way; I love Sussex's 1980 floor show work, and Nacho's 1978 Isolar II stuff. Good show. Thanks guys :3
Eyebrows, WOW!
He looked better with them I think : )
This is the 1st time I've seen 'Ziggy' with them. Overall David does look better with them but I prefer 'Ziggy' without them. Just too used to it I guess. Thnx 4 the vid.
@@MisterSussex right so much better than the "later" Ziggy Stardust LOOK
@@MisterSussex Oh no , it was shaving the eyebrows that made him stand out and look asian like .
I don’t know why but i love how the shot switches between colored and black and white
he was so beautiful and amazing
17 yo love David Bowie childhood favourite
Adoro questo video che mi riporta indietro nel tempo...love Bowie forever
Ugh! So cute when he says “thank you”.
Far out. This is OH SO WONDERFUL to see!! Thanks MS
Takes me back. Great days with the brilliant Ronno by his side
I'm up on the eleventh floor
And Im watching the cruisers below
Hes down on the street
And hes try hard to pull sister flo
Oh, my hearts in the basement
My weekends at an all time low
cause shes hoping to score
So I cant see her letting him go
Walk out of her heart
Walk out of her mind
Oh not her
She's so swishy in her satin and tat
In her frock coat and bipperty-bopperty hat
Oh god, I could do better than that
Oh yeah
She's an old-time ambassador
Of sweet talking, night walking games
And shes known in the darkest clubs
For pushing ahead of the dames
If she says she can do it
Then she cant do it, she dont make false claims
But shes a queen, and such a queen
Such a laughter is sucked in their brains
Now shes leading him on
And shell lay him right down
Yes shes leading him on
And shell lay him right down
But it could have been me
Yes, it could have been me
Why didnt I say, why didnt I say, no, no, no
So I lay down a while
And I gaze at my hotel wall
Oh the cot is so cold
It dont feel like no bed at all
Yeah I lay down a while
And I look at my hotel wall
And hes down on the street
So I throw both his bags down the hall
And Im phoning a cab
cause my stomach feels small
Theres a taste in my mouth
And its no taste at all
It could have been me
Oh yeah, it could have been me
Why didnt I say, why didnt I say, no, no, no
Oh
To tat yah
Oh yeah
Uh hu
Mmm
Excellent ... I hope my YT Bowie songs makes him smile from far far away.
I don't know where you get your footage but thank you for making public this archive of the early days of DB's breaking into the larger world of the international rock arena. Super potent stuff on a small budget.
It's beamed to me from Mars. Glad you're enjoying it : )
Thanks For Sharing
I remember reading about Bowie, Lindsay Kemp and a backing singer/dancer that was Bowie's girlfriend at the time doing musical theatre in Scotland in December in the early '70s. They stayed in modest hotels during the tour, sleeping with their coats over them because it was so cold. Bowie had apparently largely left Kemp for her, and Kemp was somewhat hurt and bitter over the situation, at one point in a fit of passion even slitting his wrists and going to A&E. Coming straight back for their performance, he had white bandages over his wrists and red blood spots began appearing as he performed on stage. I feel quite sure this song is about him and that situation, Lindsay Kemp is the Queen Bitch and the POV narrating, while the title also refers to the dancer Bowie was seeing because he was so jealous.
Nope it’s not about Lindsay, Queen Bitch is about Lou Reed x
Wonderful! Thank you Mister Sussex for your hard work and dedication to Bowie's lagacy 💜:)
Thank you kindly Mochi Mochi

Wow .. tremendous, always a top job from Mister Sussex, the only place for the rare ziggy footage.
Mr. Sussex, that sounds absolutely amazing !! Thanks for uploading this in great quality ! Respect from Germany
Thanks for creating these. The farewell show is really the only pro shot Ziggy era show that's available in full (and even then it's technically from the Alladin Sane tour and has 2 songs cut from the official release) and that was filmed pretty badly, so it's awesome getting to see something better of this important part of Bowie's career.
Thank you! I absolutely love everything from Dunstable/Ayelsbury, and happy to see some footage I've never seen. My new mantra is "please please please, someone get the Rainbow concert footage"...Superfans deserve to see this groundbreaking concert in its entirety, it's one the most important shows Bowie did. Anyone know why it's never been seen? Mister Sussex, can you ask Mars to beam that to you as well? ;)
One of his best from back in the day, thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Superb thanks. One of his best out of many best.
Thanx A Million as always Mister Sussex for all your outstanding Bowie videos!...Glad to see a new one from you and as always its great and another one of my many, many , many favorites songs from Bowie!...PLEASE keep up the great work!...Your my Hero on CZcams!

Thank you for posting Mr Sussex 😊
Thanks for doing this. It's great!
Fucking. Mick Ronson! I apologize, I usually don't swear in my posts but that dirty, muddy guitar sound he had in the early 70's kicked so much ass. No pistols , no Dolls, no Clash, no Ramones, etc....... If not for Bowie with Ronson on guitar.
Totalement endiablé, du grand art,du GRAND DAVID BOWIE
Love this one👍thanks for sharing

Sometimes CZcams gives me a bonus!
I got here via a young bassist (Nino Djuras) doing a cover with Station To Station & that led me to your great edit of the song with Christiana F. & Your channel!🤩
I have a lot of catching up to do here!
Thanks Mister Sussex!⚡
RIP Lindsey and David. Have fun, wherever you are!
Fantastic and unknown song from the best Bowie's period..
Hardly unknown
“Unknown”??? It’s only one of the best songs he’s ever did! Every Bowie fan knows it inside out!

ZIGGY!! Beautiful Ziggy singing about weird shit. oh god I love him.
Nice treat for his birthday. I was just watching some of your previous videos the other day and wondering if you would be back soon. Is the Lindsey Kemp footage from one of Bowie's live performances?
it's from his famous Ziggy Stardust show at the Rainbow Theatre in 1972
