I've been diagnosed with celiac for 10 years now, and this is the first time a popular mainstream channel has done something specifically geared towards my situation. Let alone finding a way to make homemade pasta because I could never figure it out. I appreciate you and all that you do! Thank you Babish!
Hope it gets better for you man.... all the best..
All of this, thank you Babish!
Same. I feel seen
same here
Same!! I was so excited to see this as a person with celiac
I was diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video!! I will be adding this pasta recipe to my book. Wondering if you could do an episode based on turning regular food into a gluten free substitute? As someone who has been able to eat regularly and now switched to gluten free has been a struggle to fight the cravings for the food I was once able to have.
highly recommend the cookbook “cannelle et vanille” the absolute best gf recipes and her pasta recipe is basically the one in the video
I second this request
@@strawbaby444 thank you :)
I'm sorry I don't have cooking suggestions, but a question about your disease if you don't mind. Did you always have problems with gluten containing foods? Or where you fine and then started noticing issues? I'm asking as my wife had no issues with gluten, but after 2 pregnancies, she has an ocasional hard time with certain foods. On the flip side we now know which "breads" are real honest to goodness bread and which are some tasty chemical concoction.
@@zeroelus pregnancy can be known to trigger celiac! but even a crumb of gluten would trigger a celiac reaction. to get tested, you need to eat gluten for two weeks so they can look at your intestines.
I'm just here to hear his calming voice, because I rarely make the foods he teaches us to make.
I like Babish cause the voice and cooking seem to calm me down during a panic attack
He’s massively cute too

What about small CZcamsrs?
I was not expecting to tear up this early in the morning. I lit up like a kid on Christmas to see GF and Babish in the same notification. I don't mean that in a rude way at all, I just know how difficult gluten free cooking and baking can be. I have noticed it requires a particular blend of patience and hope. As someone who is new to this whole GF thing, I am very grateful to the GF cooking channels I already watch. They have done some amazing things with GF flours to give back the foods gluten intolerant people miss.
I really appreciate you doing this, Andrew. Thank you. ❤
Can you recommend some channels?
Hey Andrew! I've got celiacs and one of the biggest struggles for me is the cost($8usd a loaf sometimes!) and disappointment of bread. Is there any chance you can tackle gluten free bread in the future?
Yes this!!!
look up lily's loaf. she recently did a video on gf sourdough :)
Yes please!!!

my girlfriend recently discovered she’s gluten intolerant so this is perfect, definitely gonna have to give this a shot

GF pasta for GF
Man, I've been hoping for this day for years. You are my go to source for cooking AND entertainment on CZcams and, as someone who has a severe gluten allergy, I've often tried reworking some of your recipes into GF variants to various levels of success.
IF you see this PLEASE explore doing other GF videos for things like breads and pizza doughs!!!
Please Babish, you are my only hope.
He should do a food series around allergies, bound to be popular considering how common allergies are
Babs you have no idea how happy you just made all the GFF’s in the world!! i’ve been dying for a gluten free episode since i’m a celiac. thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
As a celiec who makes pasta all the time, thanks for making a video of this.
As a person with celiacs I really appreciate the gluten-free content
Same here
Let's go, same
Thank you so much for tackling GF baking. My fiancé is GF and I’m having to re-think all my baking to keep up!
hi! i very very highly reccomend the recently published 'baked to perfection' by Katarina-Cermelj. brilliant recipes that so far have all worked well! (i'm talking eclairs! hamburger buns! shortbread! puff pastry!!)
I would also highly recommend the “The How Can it be Gluten Free” cookbook by America's Test Kitchen. The recipes turn out great, and they break down why they work and how it will change if you substitute certain ingredients.
I swear I read this as girlfriend pasta
I can't recommend Becky Excell's book "How to make anything Gluten Free" highly enough. Not sure howavailable it is in the states, but it's been a lifesaver for cooking for my Gluten Intolerant wife. I'm quite excited there's a baking one coming soon!
THANK YOU BABISH as someone with celiac desease and never having fresh made pasta in my whole life, I can not stress enough how much this means to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU
Thank you for doing a doing a gluten-free episode :)
I've had celiac desiese for the majority of my life and finally seeing a quality episode on someone doing gluten free food is amazing to me. I'd love to see more!
No you have not had celiac disease, you have had "look at me! pay attention to me" disease
@@yourgooglemeister6745 what even is the logic behind your reply
@@thisisyouralterlife3785 the gluten free fad was unheard of a decade ago and every attention seeking woman and beta male suddenly had it. Total BS! I guarantee if I went through the full diet of anyone claiming this nonsense I could easily espose their fraud.
H JKYU
@@yourgooglemeister6745 Well, first of all, maybe you shouldn’t be sexist if you want people to believe you. Second of all, brushing off people with diseases as seeking attention is incredibly dangerous and ignorant. Also, celiac disease has existed for an incredibly long time. In fact, the name comes from Ancient Greek, who were some of the first to document cases of this disease if I’m not mistaken. It’s pretty obvious that you are the attention-seeking one here, not the writer of the original comment
After being diagnosed with celiacs a year ago, this video means a lot to me ! Thank you Babish!!!
THANK YOU! My kids have celiac and I’m trying to learn how to make everything gluten free from scratch and it’s difficult! I love King Arthur brand. They have the best gluten free mixes for desserts. Trader Joe’s is the gluten free fettuccini I use now.
I would also highly recommend the “The How Can it be Gluten Free” cookbook by America's Test Kitchen. The recipes turn out great, and they break down why they work and how it will change if you substitute certain ingredients.
@@bhronnyhill9354 Thanks! I’ll pick one up. Have a great day!
Try using different flour blends for different baked goods. Some mixes work better for fluffy things like bread and others work better for things like cookies. I love using Pamela's baking mix for cookies and Grandpa's Kitchen baking mix for rolls and fluffy things.
@@june8713 Thank you! I’ve looked into pamela’s brand but they contain nuts which unfortunately one of my kiddos is allergic to as well. I will check to see if grandpa works😊
Thanks so much for making this video! My carb-loving, baking-hobbyist mom was diagnosed with celiac disease several years ago and it's been a slog for her to find ways to still eat the foods she loves without ingredients that want to maim her digestive system. I've already sent this video to her since she's always on the prowl for recipe content like this, and I'd love to see you do more GF stuff on your channel!
From someone with Celiac Disease who religiously watches your channel: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Just about teared up seeing the title for this.
AS A CELIAC I AM SO HAPPY!!!
YO! THIS IS AWESOME!
I love that you thought about celiac ppl like me or like a lot of ppl, even if it's a minority.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for doing a video on gluten-free cooking! I'm a diagnosed celiac for about 7 years and it is amazing to finally have one of the big great cooking shows make something specifically gluten-free! Much love
As someone who has Celiac's, this episode made me cry. 😅 The title alone made me scream. I HAVE BEEN SEEN BY MY IDOL.
You might consider doing a quick video or intro on cross contamination to account for another significance source of gluten in the kitchen. I'm seeing a lot of new people with celiac disease in the comments here and I think it might be helpful for them.
Also, why not do gf bread next? There are a couple gluten-free recipes for rye and/or challah bread that I haven't done yet and I think you could do really well.
Oh my gosh yes, thank you for mentioning cross contamination/cross contact. So often people just don't get it, and then a food I could have eaten gets ruined for me. Sigh.
Actually rye bread would have gluten, because the rye grain has it.
As someone who’s been watching for so long and have recently needed to go gluten free due to health this is a godsend. Thank you!

im not a gff but i do know gluten intolerances/allergies can be a thing, so i was pleasantly surprised by this episode. i like how not only did babish give a recipe, but he also tried various brands of readymade pasta and flours. thats the kind of useful thoroughness i expect in a babish vid.
