  • The Mk2 twingo is a fantastic alternative to the usual crowd of supermini. This 1.2 GT has a peppy 100bhp from it's tiny 1.2 turbo engine.
A couple of subtle mods that should of been on the car from factory that I have installed since acquiring this car are Goodridge brake lines, brembo pads, bilstein b14 coilovers, lowers car to a ride height that makes it handle and look like a GT spec should.
The full stainless steel KTR cat-back exhaust is a 2" bore with straight through front and centre pipe, rear silencer, and twin polished tailpipes.

Lovely upload, thanks. Yours is really full specs indeed. Mine came without the climate control and sliding glass roof. I removed the stiffer suspension and brought it back to original springs, because I cruise a lot on motorways. A remap brought it to 125BHP (I really noticed the difference, especially when overtaking). Have mine now almost 3 years and that is the longest time I ever had the same car. It may not be the best looking little car, but it is well-equipped, reliable (let's forgive the little quirks) and very agile.
BTW, in blue it looks even more amazing!

Thanks buddy, it is what it is a small cheap to run car that does not have the best interior quality but who cares. Every time I drive it this happens 😁

Hey, I know this is an old video, but what’s the fuel consumption on the Twingo GT?

Is it going smoothly on highway? Really nice car, i would love to buy it for my first car. Is it economic?

The engines in this car are very economical for the most part (even the one from the Sport model is fairly economical), only the TCe engine from the GT model is either average or really bad depending on your driving style, the dCi engine (which is not available in some countries like the UK) is incredibly economical and works like a charm.
it might be noisy on the highway, but for a small car it's fine.

What about the rear seats removal? Do you feel any imbalance on the car? It's 40ish kgs less.

I'm split between buying a 1.6 RS or a 1.2T GT Twingo but I have never driven the GT. The biggest pluses for me would be that GT can actually be faster than the RS after a tune but more importantly, it should be geared lower given the turbo engine rev band. I remember the RS is a total screamer on the highway (4300 revs at 130 kph or so, noise gets old very soon...) If I may ask, what are the revs on the highway? 130 kph ish? Thanks!

Fairly similar. 4000rpm @ 70mph (113 kph). Not really a car for a motorway cruise more a trip to the supermarket or b road sprint. Stay off the highways and it's a cracking little pocket rocket.

I own one (too) and must say the GT may be more comfortable than the RS in standard specs. Softer damping and, imho, a 'softer' engine sound, despite the same rpm. If you want to cruise, the GT (Grand Tourismo) is the one. If you wanna play a lot, the RS is the answer, or the GT with remaps, other shocks, etc.

    is it a reliable car?

French cars don't have the best reputation for reliable electrics and the twingo is no different. The central lock on the boot has a tendency to lock itself to the point you have to use a screwdriver on the white tab that is situated on the locking mechanism to get the boot open. The latch also unlocks itself while driving. You can buy a new lock that sorts this problem but a screwdriver is cheaper than a £60 Renault Boot Tailgate Lock part number 8200948107.
The cambelt & waterpump needs to be changed every five years regardless of mileage.
66000 ish miles and mine is still going strong.
