This surely deserves a 2022 comment, absolutely beautiful 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Here's one from 2024 my brother or sister in Christ! Praise and glory to God :)
So touching....one of the best performances of Barber's Agnus Dei that exist.
Even though I am an atheist, I find this music absolutely divine. It seems religion was a powerful source of inspiration for musicians and composers.
I found this music divine when I was an atheist - now that I'm not it's even more divine!
I think a lot of people become atheist because most religious scriptures are taught in too literal and dogmatic a sense vs the spiritual and philosophical way I believe they were intended. When it's held up to be literal, factual truths it falls to pieces in front of a logical mind almost instantly, but this was never its intended use I do believe.
@@erichgroat838 what is your religious view/affiliation now? just curios

@@erichgroat838 Wow! God Bless You! Welcome Home!
New College Choir and Edward Higginbottom reach perfection. Thank you.
Best version ever... Best choir ever... Angels couldn't beat this...
I've never heard better than this version. NEVER!
truly uplifting makes my soul rise towards God
Translation is the standard form of the movement
The Lamb of God,
Who took the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
The Lamb of God,
Who took the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
The Lamb of God,
Who took the sins of the world,
Grant us peace.
thank you
🙏 thank you
Amen

hermoso... de mis ojos no dejaran de caer mis lagrimas mientras escuche estas voces
Чудесное, проникновенное пение. Какая радость слушать это!
rehearsing this piece in my high school advanced choir. very challenging but rewarding
Love young male sopranos yes!
Beautifully rendered… the sopranos are particularly good.
@drwestbury Thanks for the lovely comment!
estou afastada da presença d deus mas quando retorna quero louvar a Deus com esse hino....👉👉👉👉👉
When the perfection come
When I first heard this I felt as though I could not breathe it is so beautiful. I didn’t even realize what it was about- then it dawned on me and I cried with fear and joy❤
I think this is the best rendition of Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei. I would rather enjoy playing it more if it wasn't for the audio quality (over modulation and distortion) on this video. It will be nice to re-upload this master piece.
sukaiburu1 absolutely new college with higgenbottom magnificent. A➕⬆️
Of course the film Platoon created the visual background to this wonderful music but the cathedral
Choir takes it to a new level. Very moving
Magnificent....this Chorel piece is utterly beautiful.
Tear-jerkingly beautiful Thanks so much.
i was part of this lol
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem
There really is something special about a childs voice.
DiiDee66 and special that the child has achieved such discipline required to sing chorale music
Ах,как прекрасно это произведение и исполнение!...
Toda a glória ao Único Deus , entre todas as nações .
It's great that we all think that we sound like this when singing in the shower. Fave version for sure
Absolutely love this
This is great. It is a shame it has some static noises...unless it is my PC. I will check your website. From Joe in Pennsylvania, home of Samuel Barber.
It's not your PC. Regards from Wales UK
Tis so touching ❤
Si majestueux, si pur, quelle magnifique symphonie.
A great deal of their music is already available on iTunes - at least in Europe. Might depend on where you live, though.
that must have been filmed in 1995-1996 period, based on the trebles in the front row!
Sublime!
Très belle interprétation
@GriffinKing1991 it is, Barber wrote a transcription for voice set the words of Agnus Dei
This is a stunning performance, but only about half of it is in this video. The best part comes later when the kids hit some unbelievable high notes. Still, I'm glad I saw this because I only heard this on the radio once and didn't know that the soprano voices were boys or that there was a video at all. I'll have to buy that CD.
Divino...
Outstanding performance.
Ahhh Wow Oh yes. This is the best performance from Bieber's Agnus Dei, of course my opinion. And yes first time I see this one live. I'm very lucky to see before I going in heaven. Ah when New College come in Montreal, I hope meet the master.
When was this recording made ? I am wondering at the bad image quality of the video (?).
❤ Reached My Soul ❤
Your potato records a surprisingly good quality video
parfait ! merci
Young boys voices give us a unique and beautiful tone differently from woman's soprano voices . Sorry for my bad English
I think you have very good English.
Sorry for my bad English.
I forget. We have one Anglican Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral, in Montreal lol The Choirmaster is Patrick Wedd.
To think that at death we will hear angels sing better than this makes death seem like nothing to fear.
Is that Higginbottom conducting? :)
Have you heard Elfen Lied - Lilium? Or the saint version of Lilium? I think Lilium and this stand right next to each other on the lever of best piece of sacred music.
Beautifull! The video is quite old, isn't it?

Ouch, that is unfortunate. As you probably know they also sell their recordings on the website too, but I'm guessing the shipping costs might get quite expensive.
Some of their newest (Illumina) videos are not available outside the UK either. I wonder why that is...
Cheers to 2024!!!
Oh dear recording or compression couldn't handle the frequency
No one's left … Everything's gone! ... Kharak is burning!
Brings a tear to my eye every time!
quelle bonheur magnifique !!!!!
Almost perfect
this sounds just like a symphonic song, adagio for strings
cool
@ald2345 I think so lol Look: Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber(1644-1704); second Justin Bieber, boy singer; and of course Barber. lol Oh boy, thank you for this peak, Freud is happy now.
Using part of this song for a devised drama piece about the London bombings :'(

articulacy?
why was it cut off so early? Beautiful, nonetheless.
Does anyone know the translation of what they are saying?

Bet this is what heaven sounds like 😋

Bummer the audio is a bit fucked
-Kharak is burning-

One needs humility and perspective for this to indelibly mark your soul. Gloriously other worldly.
Using this as a background song for a powerpoint about the London Bombings... Devised Drama Piece, depressing song!
2019?

One comment for 2023
er, what? i think comments that don't over-reach the commentators grasp of the subject and/or his/her articulacy are preferable...
It's so paradoxical to hear this agonizing cosmic cry that musially says there is no god - the universe is empty -in a liturgical setting.
