I'm 55 years old and all the wonderful memories come rushing back to me when I listened to Cover girls. What a great time we had being a teenager in the 80's, it was absolutely perfect!!!
2024!! The 80’s & 90’s were the best “MUSIC” of any other time! Not saying other era’s were good but they were the best! So many bands, groups & Long Hair Rock n Roll!! Even one hit wonders!! Look some up!! This 💩 they make now IS NOT MUSIC! ITS ALL DEMONIC AND AFTER THE CHILDREN!! PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN!! Show them our music show them what music is meant to be!!
We loved this song back in the day, still do... and we had no idea until watching this video here that they had featured a CANAL JEAN CO shopping bag!! Their clothes look like they might have been from there too.
Some people will never understand how dope this time period was... Jersey we love all freestyle music... this generation doesn't even know what this music is but when they hear it they like it and say damn u wish u grew up in the late 80s and 90s... We're lucky to have grownup then... peace!
This song brings me back to the late 80s when I felt safe and sound felt nothing could destroy my happiness until my mom got sick in 1988 wish I could had done more I was here baby just turned 18 and she left me alone instead of heading the wrong way I made her proud graduated high school and got a good career miss you mami always

80s did have the best music , I should know I have over 20,000 vinyl records from the 70s, 80s, 90s and yeah I can tell you for a fact 80s did have some of the best music ever 👍
My daughter asked me if this is Hip Hop. I told her it's called 'Freestyle' that it was really popular in Miami, NYC and where we're from in the LA area in the 80s to 90s. It's one of her Mother's favorite style of music. Pretty Tony, Trinere, Connie, Stevie B, Shannon, and even Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. Sweet Sensation, Debbie Deb, Taylor Dane to name a few. She started to listen to this music because of Taylor Dane's song 'Tell it to my Heart' on the Cheetos commercial . She is my youngest child (13). She is a blessing, My wife and I have two other children age 28 and 26! For someone so young, she likes a lot of older music (her parent's)... My wife and my cd collection went from boxes in the garage to arranged in shelves we bought at the Container Store in her room. Hahaha. I hate to run on but my cousin is a former club DJ for places called the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles, Florentine Gardens in Hollywood (now closed) and CJ Barrymore's in Torrance (gone) in the late 80s to late 90s (he's a accountant now, hahaha) and he made several flash drives of this music from his actual vinyl collection for my daughter for her 14th birthday coming up (shhhh, it's a secret). My daughter says it's better than the crap her sister listens too. Hahaha. My other daughter (26) likes Selena Gomez, Arianna Grande, Miley Cyrus etc, etc. I don't know if my oldest girl's music is crap but the baby thinks so, Hahahaha.
I love that story!! I was living I'm small town rural America but for some reason one dj would play this song on the radio while I got down with my dorky self. Now I play it for my toddlers :)
On 2Wheels I'm already 26 but I have the same story liking this as a kid in the early 00's because of my older brother and sister that were teenagers in the 80's. This was the soundtrack to LA I always think of the East LA, Downey, Norwalk and Anaheim area when I hear freestyle
There was this radio station called hot 92.3 that would play music like this but they went and turned it into yet another rap station. smh. so glad i eventually found old school 104.7
