My mama's music.. she was born in 1968 and she passed in 2020... I miss her so much but, she'll live on through me. I'll always play her music and never forget her. I love and miss her so much....
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
GOD BLESS HER SOUL ! You a strong one !!!

yup ...that's how it's done .
She'll always be with you! Listen to these awesome songs and feel her spirit. Peace! 🙏
Who is still Stuck in 80's?
I know - right? I love all things 80s. I think that I was in 4th or 5th grade when this came out - always loved this group.
I am so stuck in 80-89
🙋🏾♀️
Please... i need Friends like You 😢
I wish I had a time machine.😁👍
I woke up this morning with this song playing in my head though I haven't heard it for quite awhile. Who's in 2024?
She was my neighbour . We jammed this at my garage. Actually, later, it's where the first garage track was made, and l come up with garage music. Dj Pierre mixed lots of acid at my other place. The shed . It was in my back garden. Richie Fingers made girls cream with just his fingers . The rest is history. Richie F DJ P and fast Eddie, hit me up fellas
Who else is going through all their favorite jams thinking about how life was back in the days ?
Good life back then
🎯🎯
Good life back then. Yes it was. Lol.
The best I wish I have enjoyed my life better in those days in a good way though
Crying lol good ole memories are thee absolute freaking BEST!🤪 Let’s try to LIVE LIFE♥️ 😷WE GLOBAL🌏 One nation under GOD💋🤗🙏🏽
I am BEYOND jealous of anyone who lived through the 80’s 😢 what a time to be alive ❤
Best times of my life, lived my whole 20's in the 80's, what a beautiful ride it was. Miss them dearly.
Yeah,at least you can listen to this wonderful freestyle music now!!!
I was a teenager in the 80s best time of my life x
Facts me too 😩 the 1980s seemed more futuristic than today's culture
As you should be @Hey You. In the 80's we could go to school & not worry about gettin' shot up. Fools didn't bring guns. You had a problem...you KNUCKLE UP!! You win some, you lose some. But you dapped up after & went about your business. Or you break out the cardboard & DANCE BATTLE IT OUT!!!
1980s hit song it's still hitting in 2024
Life was so much better back then. I wish we could go back to the 80's and 90's!
I agree 👍
The 2020's is what happen when you just won't let something collapse. This is what happens when you try to prop up a bridge that can't wait to fall, tension. Pressure burst pipes.
Amen.
The more you know the worst life seems is all.
Some What... But, Not Everything!
Lisa Lisa was repping the Puerto Ricans hard before Jennifer Lopez, Rosie Perez, or Rosario Dawson!
amen. ................peace.
Indeed!🙌
yes she was respect
Don't forget the Ladies from Expose as well as Sweet Sensation. What's so cool is that they get "Bank" because The Black Eyed Peas Sampled this Song for "Don't Phunk With My Heart".
oh,yeah!!!! angela bofil and shelia e. were /are badass. how could i forget.i'm going to dig thru my crates now.
Why is it that once you start listening to these fire 80's hits, you end up binging on all 80's music (no matter the genre 'cause they were all bangers) for hours on CZcams? Nothing and I mean straight up nothing will ever dominate the music, culture and fads of the 80's! So blessed to have lived and experienced the enlightening 80's. This 54 year old will always be an 80's child!
I wish I grew up in the 80s
👍💯👍
Make ya right mate… 80’s was real
Oh I don't know. It's the way that we feel. We grew up in the right era!
Lol Your right! My music and I jam to this today with my kids & grandkids
As a child, born and raised in the 80s, lived through the 90s, I can guarantee anyone that we saw and witnessed the world transform. This era showed us everything. It's a privilege

@@kevinhoughton9134 so true...
I remember when I first heard this song I listened to the whole song in my mom's kitchen ..back in the 80s when I had a really big radio with cassette player always waiting for a good song to come on I needed a new playlist this song came on and I played it again ... my brother woke up and was like where did you get that song from I've never heard of it he was like I need that name of that song bc he was a DJ and he was like damn I gotta go get the record that same night he was playing it for everyone at the club he was djing at ... I loved the melody the words its was different than all the rest to me it stood out! not only will this kind of music ever be replaced but neither will actually having the real pleasures in life that were simple .you went out and actually met people face to face shared um idk many things that you just don't do today just like they said back in those days man will control computers and later on if we are not careful computers will control man . and it did it took away from every single little thing that was real and fun ...so No is my answer this kind of music will never ever be replaced. just my 2 cents...
Knowing this song brought DMX any kind of joy is heartwarming.. long live the dog

Amen!!! If they ever make a time machine I know where all of us are going.
I used to break to this, one of my all-time favorites
I bet it was. Lucky
I remember NY looking like this. A gritty yet rich in character look. Steam pumping out of the streets at night and opened fire hydrants pouring down the avenues on hot days. Chasing the song of Mr. Softee drawing nearer on a summer afternoon. Stick ball in the projects, hearing songs like this playing in the back ground of cars passing by. Graffiti covered trains and army’s of pigeons in the parks. Old timers sitting patiently at the concrete chess tables concealed by the shade of the trees. Amazing times that will only live as the fondest yet simplest memories.
Those memories sound like something a person will never forget💯...the 80's & early 90's was different...shout out to NY
I'm here in 2024 who else is❤

Never left it from the 80's ❤
The New York Street Scene in the 80s…. Graffiti, incredible beats, catchy vocals…. Big hair, headbands, standout street fashions…. Beautiful dolled-up women who were beautiful without being overly sexualized…. Ladies and gents, this was the legendary 80s. No other time like it.

80s was real music with real talent. You don't see that anymore.
Nowadays, every fly on the wall can sing now.
That's because we can hear all of them, now. There was a definite gate keeper effect back then. Now anyone with a recorder and an internet collection has a Soundcloud.
That means you're going to find hidden gems, but you are also get a TON of trash. Same as it ever was in this internet age.
@@andrejg4136 Because back then, record labels were how people’s music was released. Like you said, now anybody can record and publicly release their music for free on the Internet. It’s inevitably lowered standards for music when it’s that easy because it creates such a glut of product.
90s had some real talent as well vocally too
Clearly you're in the wrong parts of music and probably basing your opinion on what's mainstream, there's plenty of amazing and talented artists out now, but people are too lazy to look for them 🙄
😂😂
I just love Full Force in the background. They were feeling it.

Ironic how Full Force play the ultimate bullies in House Party 🤣
The independent record label they were on at the time didn’t like it and had it just sitting on the shelf. Some music producer found it over there and submitted to CBS Records for a compilation album they were going to release to capitalize on the breakdancing craze and that’s how CBS Records ultimately signed Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and Full Force in the first place.
True Fact:
I was at the Notting Hill Carnival ('81 or '82) under the Westway fly over [ next to the Metropolitan train line ].. And l swear Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam walk right past me. Lisa Lisa has on a Pink satin jacket with her name sown on the back. My mouth hit the floor. The three of them were just taking in the atmosphere of the carnival.
The UK, London music scene in the Eighties are ONLY shown on TV, stereotypically by either The Blitz club, Duran Duran, Culture Club or other TOTP wannabes.... but in the 1980's Alldayers, Royalty, Goldmine Hammersmith Palais ( Sun' nite), the 100 club, Crackers, Electric Ballroom and many many more venues were
" Laying down some heavy funk and 12" inch dance tracks. "

June 10, 2024. Listening to one of my favorite songs. I dedicated this song to Jossy. I had happy memories. Back on the Summer of 1985.
This song ain't about drugs, money, anything inappropriate its just about love❤
just about sex but In an innocent way.
@@lilyvega7831 I don't think it's innocent. Lisa-Lisa makes clear at a couple of points that she's pissed off. She knows the dude wants to lay pipe, and she knows dudes are jerks.
Its about fucking. So kinda.

I mostly listened to British new wave in the '80s, but equally loved the music of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. The '80s was the best decade for music!
This was more popular in Britain than it was in America.
Since childhood.
