    I think an absolute must have for the deck is Sludge Monster, which was just printed in Midnight Hunt. Not only does it also distribute slime counters, but it makes all (non-horror) creatures with slime counters on them 2/2 with no abilities. Absolutely crazy to have this out with your Toxrill.

    • @fallendeus

      @@fallendeus Must've forgotten about the card, as it isn't in the decklist either. But as a deckbuilder myself, I can't really blame him. It's really not the kind of card you can look for effectively, either you know of it beforehand, or you'll probably miss it.

    Another key for the deck is that it plays Blue, so you can protect your 7 cost commander when you cast it. (Counter spells) If you slam it as soon as you have 7 mana it could get countered or killed by 2 CMC spell, putting you behind.

    Another 2 cards really good for that deck is urborg, tomb of yagmoth turning all lands into swamps, locking your opponent out of game if they aren’t running a swamp deck and for a later combo, when u draw kormus bell it makes all swamps a 1/1 meaning they lose all their land at your end step, and also making it so if they are playing swamp it don’t matter

    • @eewweeppkk
      @eewweeppkk Před rokem

      I know I'm a year late to this comment, but Urborg doesn't turn your opponents lands into swamps exclusively, it adds swamp to their type and lets it tap for black mana. It doesn't prevent the lands from functioning as normal like a blood moon would.

      he def is, i have a jank build for him. its sadly really gimicky. because yea you can get him out super early long before a 7th turn, but ALOT is probaly going to be going on by turn 5 and 6. Turn 5 win cons are common, then you need another few cycles around the table for him to really put in work, now its turn 10 or 11 where people can easily win with just their mana and from hand.

    Seems cool but I really didn't see much for keeping Toxrill safe. I mean the entire deck revolves around his slow poisoning effect and he generates huge value I feel like everyone else will be trying to snipe him as soon as they possibly can. And even with just one death he's already up to costing 9 to bring out which is crazy.

    • @nathanielbrown3574
      @nathanielbrown3574 Před 2 lety

      Yeah you need to add a good amount of protection s with counter spells enchantments. That give hex proof regeneration and indistructeble. He might be better as a 4 to 5 color deck with coma and alot of tutors and draw specific cards. But if you do it right it's gonna slap cheeks.

    • @nathanielbrown3574
      @nathanielbrown3574 Před 2 lety

      Not slow because everyone end step is another counter 1 full turn it's -4-4. But I do suggest having protection before you decide to pump him out. Or him out really early with the right lands like sol ring etc. and having the protection you need. Also could add win con with poison counters and a good amount of proliferation. The are not gonna be playing creatures knowing they are just gonna die so ur poison is open for business
