  • If you live in a state with an In-N-Out Burger, you know all about the famous restaurant chain, and if you don’t, you’ve probably wondered why you don’t have one. Californians are constantly singing the praises of the restaurant chain, and unlike so many other fast food chains, a lot of chefs have declared their love for In-N-Out as well, including infamously tough critics like Gordon Ramsay and Anthony Bourdain. From all of the secret menu items you should know about to the surprisingly high salaries that they pay their managers, let’s take a look at the untold truth of In-N-Out Burger.

    • @JDWonders
      @JDWonders Před 6 lety +12

      They'll keep expanding, but they'll only expand as fast and as far as their supply chain can keep up.
      A lot of big chain restaurants like McDonalds let their quality slip over time because maybe they had access to really good ingredients at a really good price when locations started popping up everywhere, but then they suddenly found themselves in a situation where the ingredients either became not good or the price got too high too fast.
      Meat is one of those things that can fluctuate in price enough to destroy margins. And the double-requirement of being never frozen meat means that the restaurant locations have to be close enough to a processing plant for one-day delivery of ingredients.

    When I first moved to California, I drove there from Detroit. I hadn't eaten in that long last stretch into L.A. I crossed the Cal/Nev border and just wanted to find someplace to eat. I wasn't far from the "El Cajon Pass" (of Bugs Bunny fame) and I saw the In-and-Out Burger there and made a point to stop, at least to go to the toilet. I saw a very simple menu and ordered a double-double. When I bit into it, the crunch, simplicity of taste, and WOW....Sold!! I Loved it. I eventually moved first to Culver City, then Long Beach, and was way past disappointed I couldn't find any in-and-Out Burgers nearby. I even made an scheduled some weekends to make a trip out to the nearest one I could find. That was 1985. I used to go to L.A. couple - 3 - 4 times a year, rented a car, and would go to In-and-Out before I even checked into my hotel. Well, the built a restaurant just outside of LAX. I have gone there to get a double-double, sometimes, even before I picked up my car! I moved back to Detroit in 1992, and though Del Taco (another L.A. place) opened 2 restaurants in the Detroit Metro area (as of this time), I still look west....longing for one damned "In-and-Out Burger"...PLEASE??

      What?! They're building one on Houston!?? Awesome! I just moved to Houston from California. I was really dreading leaving In n Out behind. I hope it's the same as the burgers back home. Some people say that their bad in San Antonio.

      AlfredSanz J they are wrong. It's the exact same. San Antonio people are not experienced with great fast food. They think whataburger is actually better..... which is actually embarrassing (for them) >.

    This is my ultimate pork recipe: First, the charcoal you cook with is very important, I prefer Artisan, locally-sourced, fair trade cherry wood, that has been rubbed with linseed oil for the best heat and flavor. Secondly, the dead pig meat must be marinated with a diluted balsamic vinegar and French Duck Pate emulsion and sealed in a vacuum bag for 72 hours. It helps if you have something with centrifugal force, like a salad drainer but, I use my washing machine on freaking all-out spin cycle. Place the pork meat inside a plastic bag where the centrifugal force will move the juices around inside of the bag before the pig pieces are cooked. This will render a juicier and more tender pork chop (this may be substituted with Beef, venison, poultry, or seafood, depending on your taste). NEXT: You have to obtain an industrial ceramic blast furnace. Insert the linseed-rubbed, fair trade, locally sourced cherry wood and heat it with JP-5 rated fighter jet fuel to 4,021 degrees exactly. It's essential to expose your meaty Pig meat for precisely 47 and one-half seconds, and suspended by a titanium rod. Finally, you must let it rest for exactly 3 minutes, on a slab of chilled Himalayan rock salt, and eat it by hand whilst hacking at it with a Damascus steel blade, after dipping all of your fingers on your right hand into a bowl of Mongolian chili oil. Best served during the crushing of your enemies, seeing them driven before you, while hearing the lamentations of our women.

    It’s amazing how companies founded with Christian backgrounds are the ones that reallly succeed. In-n-out, and Chick-fil-A. Just a thought

      It's statistically very unremarkable that some of the more successful companies in America, a deeply christian nation, also happen to be Christians.

      I never said that. But it is true to say that they are very successful companies. And of course there are others that aren’t Christian that succeed, some even better than the two I mentioned. It just seems like these ones are on another level. If you know what I mean.

      I wasn’t making a point, I was just making an exclamation that I think that it’s cool that in America you can run a successful company with a background in most whatever you want. And that I enjoy to see companies of Christian background succeed.
