- Hi You Tubers and Friends
The is a revision of the video I made some time ago (2010) and the SP 25 MK3 has developed a problem so I thought I would share with you the fixing and my latest collection of records.
Enjoy and look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Till I waltz again with you with different words.good record.
So it was you who brought in the cold weather Richard. Glad to see you again too. Anne Shelton, you can't help liking her music, great stuff. Was asked to repair a Garrard not too long ago, but the arm return gear was completely siezed up. Unfortunately the owner had tried to turn it even so, and as its bearing was riveted to the motor board, oh dear. Good job you've done on that Garrard !
Great to see you on the tube again Richard
Hi yes its been to long but been busy.

Richard, Great video. can you advise the manufacturing history of the SP 25 MK3 and what year it commenced manufacture?
Could you work out what was causing the noise you were talking about at around 15 minutes in? I have an MKIV and it sounds exactly the same. Something is not quite right.
Long time no see Richard, hope you're well.Is that a Stanton 500AL cartridge?
Hi Simon great to hear from you and I loved the Hacker Mayfair radio project and I have several Hackers all with great sound. Yes the cart is the 500AL with a 78 stylus.
Please help i dont know how to connect speakers
Hi Richard. 633 Squadron was a different Film to the Dam-busters. Also Marching Strings was the Theme to the TV program Pop Quiz hosted by Mike Read DJ. It also used In the Film "When We Were Young". Anne Shelton was a Huge star In the 40's and 50's scoring a Number One with "Lay Down Your Arms". I used to DJ with these decks. My mate Worked for the Local Council Fixing Everything so got hold of a Pair from one of the Schools. I still have the paper Plinth Stencil to cut a piece of wood to drop the deck In. I see You have the Ones that were used on the Disco Decks of the day a Plastic One. Those were the days. Nice Video Thanks Enjoyed seeing them again.
Nice video Richard!!!!! I agree, nice to see you posting videos again!!!!!

Those Ray Martin 10" albums I would kill for. They are quite hard to get here in Australia Richard. I have the yellow album of his that my mother owned but I have trouble finding a new copy. The first track on that album 'Marching Strings' was a huge hit in the day and you may recognize it when you hear it! He later became an arranger and composer of film music later in his life.

Good to see an SP25 still in use. I have thee in the loft that I need to look at.
Surely this part is a pawl, not a prowl, of course I could be wrong.
Hi
Many thanks ha ha.

Wow Richard that tonearm certainly lands with a bump, doesnt it, a bit scary, its a wonder the stylus can take that much punishment. But that is just an after thought, the important thing is to say how much yet again how much I enjoy your inputs, especially the late great voice of Ann Shelton.
please keep it up and thanks for your efforts.
many regards to you, Colin.

I had a similar table a few years ago, although mine was an MK5. You can get rid of that noise by removing the platter and bearings and lubricating with some fully synthetic turntable oil (available on eBay. Also remove the idler wheel, and lubricate the idler wheel shaft with the same oil. Also check the rubber on your idler wheel; if it's a bit on the hard side, apply some talcum powder or leave it to sit in a bowl of warm soapy water, then once removed clean thoroughly.
