Hey guys! Job interviews can be tough. What advice would you give someone that has a job interview coming up? I'd love to know your thoughts and ideas.
Some really good advice someone gave me when I first started interviewing was to go into each interview as if it was just a 'practice'. For me that helped to take off some of the stress and allowed me to be myself.
At my interview I answered this with, "It's 2 minutes from the bar and 5 minutes from my house!" and you know what? I got the job! The interviewer liked my happy-go-lucky funny attitude... Until a few months later when she found out I wasn't joking.
Just wanna come back to this amazing video and I would like to express my gratitude for giving this tips and guess what. I got hired last week and will start this coming monday. I highly recommended this video for job seekers like me. Thank you so much!!! More love and power to you. God bless you 💖💖💖
Katarina H. I totally agree! When we are our authentic selves, it’s easier to create a connection. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you are doing well!
Loved learning about how to answer the common interview question "why do you want to work for this company." One of my favorite tips is to research the companies LinkedIn page.
Well, This is a company with a big name and a long reputation of producing quality & safe products. I really like what I see & I would love to be a part of it. I look forward to the training, I think there are many opportunities for me, This is a job I will really enjoy!
Great advice. Always found the best tactic was to find out about the company, their products/services, financial results etc. beforehand. Get to interview early and talk with the receptionists about the company. Surprising how much you can find out about the company.
Hey Heather! I got shortlisted for a content writing and marketing job application and have an interview on Tuesday. I appreciate how you concisely broke down each step, it's a huge help!
I use to hate interviewing before I leaped into entrepreneurship. This would have helped me so much and I am sure it will help others. Great tips. Thanks
Another video packed with wisdom! Thank you again for providing incredibly effective content made simple. Another idea is to show that you’re committed for the long term with a vision response that projects what you want to specifically execute for the company and how that concept aligns with the company’s mission and culture. You’re truly the best Heather, much appreciated again!
Hi Heather! Your advice is great and the way you communicate is clear and understandable. If I can just offer one suggestion, consider removing the background music from your videos. Your content is solid enough to hold up your video on its own ~ the music distracts from what you are saying. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! You were straight to the point and everything was so clear! This video really helped me and I will be recording my interview today!!
I don't have a job interview coming up but these tips for how to answer the question why do you want to work for this company. are really useful. I'll jump back in if I need to in the future. Thanks!
So if you are getting interviewed, and they ask you this question; You say how you want to work there because their major problem is upset clients hahahahahaha thats a big slap in their face
Hi there! Thanks for sharing. You are right! Showing that you are the solution to their problem will really help you nail this common interview question.
The best advice that I could give is to put themselves in the position of the employer. Do not envision yourself to simply WORK but to Help him throughout the organization and remember that so as you sow, so shall you reap. You might be working for someone today but tomorrow someone may be working for you.
Please I have one question if they ask you: During when you work in office, you see your friend there what you're gonna do : greet him and finish your work ? Or ignore him like he is not there and finish your work? Or greet him and tell him he is not allowed to be there during work and he needs to be outside waiting for you outside ??? Thank you.
ORI RA, interesting question! It would probably be okay to greet your friend and tell them to wait outside for you until you finish. It will really depends on your place of employment and the situation. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Thanks so much for your feedback. I agree that interviews can be tough. Knowing how to answer common interview questions can simmer down some of the intimidation.
Today I had the most memorable ‘go-right’ interview from one of the most prestige’s colleges out there, for an IT Desktop support position. Guess what their first question was? Hello so and-so, what do you know about us? I NAILED IT! All because of your videos! I told them when they were founded, the vision and it’s mission. It all fell into place that to you! I’ll keep you posted when I get the offer letter but I am confident my answers were straight to the point and I brung our examples as well. Guess what? There were two people in the interview and the actual one who will be my IT team leader had no questions throughout the interview. Lol. Thanks again. Keep inspiring.
Great topic and great info. So many people don't think about how their values align with the company that they're applying for. It's imperative if you REALLY are interested in the company. Research is KEEEEY!
there is no "genuity" when it comes to companies, it's all a facade. as for values, lying is valued the highest. just keep lying to everyone and you'll be ceo before you know it
Great tips answering Why Do You Want To Work Here Heather! Over the years there were so many people I've worked with that I want to ask them "Why do you still work here." I am such a big believer in interviewing the company you are working for as much as they interview you. Some of the recent hires that came in for interviews blew me away that they had actually gone online and ordered (PAID FOR) one of my products and then came in to get a job. They wanted to learn about the product before they started working.
Bloggin Brandi thank you for sharing. I love seeing highly motivated professionals. It’s neat your new hire’s bought your products before applying for a position. This shows that are interested and that they have good intentions.
Super great tips on how to answer whey do you want to work for this company. This common interview question has always stumped me. Your 3 strategies where very easy to follow.
Red Orlee hi there! I'm so glad you found these tips useful and easy to follow. The question, why do you want to work here can be very intimidating. That's why I created the video.
So here are the main points I can bring up in my Schnucks interview: - I actually admire that this is a company that makes an effort to give back to the community (charity organizations). They don't just serve the customer, but take care of the neighborhood. - They are constantly growing their store with the ever-growing needs of the customers, like how they adopted a delivery service for those who can't afford to do a walk-in to buy their products. - Since they are a family-owned company with the fourth generation running things now, their main mission is to have a warm and friendly atmosphere with employees that not only make them feel helped but _comfortable_ in the store, able to rely on the store just as you would a family member.
I was 5 minutes late, i didn't prepare myself for the common questions and sort of rambled. Yet, I actually made them laugh many times, I was at my most enthusisatic and warmest self and they made me meet their team mate. So what do you think?
Hi, Roman. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you like my strategies. When you were a manager, did you ever conduct interviews or did you have someone conduct them for you?
Hi Heather! I’m new to your channel but am feeling comfortable as if I’ve been here for a while. I am enjoying it very much. I have a job interview by phone that is said to be fairly casual. It is for a lesser position than i had originally applied for. Less $$ and it’s in production for a lumber company. Even while I feel I will do well in the interview, how can I deliver to them a smooth declining job offer ? Their initial call which I did a follow up call . They called to schedule an interview fairly soon there after.
Hi thank you very much for your free guide , it works and made me abreast in making my move confidently through my job search. I have experience working in production job , am planning to change over to design jobs , Will my experience counts ??? Or else how should I proceed to get through the interviews
- Please, I have one more question : If you are busy in your work and you did not finish yet your tasks during your shift work , what to do in this situation ? Is do it faster even it will be a mess and many mistakes in your job ?? Or finish your job even it will be overtime than your schedule ?? Thank you for your time.
ORI RA, hi there. Great question! It all depends on the situation, such as work environment and your manager’s personality. Is he/she someone you feel you could talk to about this?
Hi babe, Thank you for this topic that you tackled in this video, it’s so so helpful specially for me who wants to get a job on a company that I really wanna work for 💜😘👌 xxx Amy 🇳🇱🇳🇱
CaydaaMakeup Amy Daalman, thanks for sharing. I'm so glad you found these tips useful. This common interview question is definitely worth preparing for. I hope you get the job you really want! 😊💜
The reality is this is a shit question no matter which company it is. This is likely put on the list by HR that the interviewer has to ask. So trying to read back products and services from their website or news article may not be ideal. I am interviewing for a job tomorrow and this video gave me nada that I didn’t already know! I think the best ways of approaching this answer could be: - Your company makes the products or provides services which are or aims to be cutting edge and I want to contribute towards these goals, and learn in the process - You are building a team of talented individuals and taking on a big challenge and I want to be part of the team. I work great under pressure - I have past experience of doing something similar and I want to bring this to the table to make this a success In other words I am changing this into a ‘why we should hire you’ question which is what they are really after.
You really are a professor! love how you teach ... :) ... Such great 'more than just' tips but actually how to be a good human ... :) Common interview questions... good to know... :) Thanks Heather...always enJOY your videos!
Let's be honest here...and not just be fake because THEY KNOW THE REAL ANSWER!!! If we start stating that the company is the main reason we are applying, it's a lie!!! We all have the same answers because of these 5 realistic facts: (By Priority) 1_ I found the listed job opening somewhere 2_ I meet the job qualifications, skills and duties 3_ I need to be employed or compensation package is better than current one 4_ This company's location may be closer than my current employer's location 5_ I like the company's mission and would like to contribute to that mission
Hi Tony, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your insight. I especially like the item you listed in #5. I must disagree however with the statement you made about a candidate mentioning the company as the main reason for applying. I work with clients all the time that want to work for a certain company. In my job search coaching program one of the exercises my clients do is to pinpoint 5 - 10 companies they want to work for. Rather than sifting through hundreds of job postings, they narrow in on a specific company. This seems to help them land their ideal job faster. Thanks for watching!
No offense nor any flaws with this presentation, but this is just exactly like a textbook version. Just my personal preference, I need something more. It's good for a starter and a great reminder.
Professor, I hope next time you will eliminate any annoying background music. We wanna listen to your tips carefully and with full concentration. It's an important time for us to concentrate on your speech. Thank you.

Me too.. I was thinking the same thing about meeting you .... Let's keep that in our vision :)
Thank u i have interview for dier bergs in 1 hour!
Let's be honest here...and not just be fake because
THEY KNOW THE REAL ANSWER!!!
If we start stating that the company is the main reason we are applying,
it's a lie!!!
We all have the same answers because of these 5 realistic facts: (By Priority)
1_ I found the listed job opening somewhere
2_ I meet the job qualifications, skills and duties
3_ I need to be employed or compensation package is better than current one
4_ This company's location may be closer than my current employer's location
5_ I like the company's mission and would like to contribute to that mission
Hi Tony, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your insight. I especially like the item you listed in #5. I must disagree however with the statement you made about a candidate mentioning the company as the main reason for applying. I work with clients all the time that want to work for a certain company. In my job search coaching program one of the exercises my clients do is to pinpoint 5 - 10 companies they want to work for. Rather than sifting through hundreds of job postings, they narrow in on a specific company. This seems to help them land their ideal job faster. Thanks for watching!
You're the best.
What if you have trouble remembering
Thank u💗
No offense nor any flaws with this presentation, but this is just exactly like a textbook version. Just my personal preference, I need something more. It's good for a starter and a great reminder.
