  • So I went through my 2nd playthrough today, but while I did I saw that people discovered sequence breaks in the game on CZcams and decided to try to do those like getting grapple beam and bombs before Kraid which makes a fun quick kill the developers put in that fight if you have bombs. :D
There are items that I believe are mandatory unless there is even more discoveries, but going though and getting the Gravity Suit without Space Jump by using Shinespark (that was fun to do) and I kept going wondering how far I could go without certain power ups and surprisingly (maybe not) you don't need Space Jump to finish the game.
Thankfully the developers made the run length for Speed Booster really short so there are a lot of places you can Shinespark where you have to go up, but also they brought back Infinite Bomb Jump which was really awesome of them to do.
So with those, Spin Boost, Wall Jump, and Flash Shift you can finish the game without ever collecting Space Jump.
You can beat the final boss without Space Jump, what you need to use is Spin Boost, Wall Jump, and Flash Shift, at all times stay close to the walls because he follows you around and when he does is aiming, run to the wall close to him, do a double jump, wall jump and then use flash shift to go above him and then go below him and repeat.
In case he seems pretty far from the wall you are able to flash shift 3 times in the air so you won't drop at all when you dash towards him.
Whether you did a wall jump or double jump first, the third jump is just high enough that you can go over his head with the dash.
This game feels really good successor to Super Metroid with it being a modern Metroid with what they did to this game.

I find it amazing that it’s completely possible to beat the game without thr space jump, something that I had believed to be a necessity.

Either the developers intentionally did it where you can fight him without some major power ups, or sequence breaking is just a lot of fun. lol

It might even be possible to do it without spin boost, I'm trying that in a playthrough right now.

I wish some people would put no spin boost or space jump playthroughs on CZcams.

I was wondering how to get up the shaft during the escape sequence, but that shine spark.

  • @stefaniasexoticaladventure9019

I'm trying this right now without space or spin boost. This escape is so rough without them
