    Calf rearing is one of the most sensitive part of raising a future dairy cow and for the first three months you have to get it right cos that's where most of the system forms especially the Milking system and to me pellets is a must from a recognized company cos it helps the rumen to develop early.

    • @FredDairyFarm

      how old is the calf? Are you using the same container that you feed milk with? You have to change the container.maybe its confusing milk with water.

    How many kgs of daily meal do you feed your calf daily each month as it grows?

    • @FredDairyFarm
      @FredDairyFarm  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You start with handful of calf pellets from day three and you increase the amount as it grows until weaning,then introduce quality dairy meal one kg per day

    Can you feed a calf with silage

    • @FredDairyFarm
      @FredDairyFarm  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes you can after two months,remember the rumen have not fully developed and silage is acidic.First start feeding it with soft chopped quality hay or grass.
