Dairy calves are a critical part of dairy farming and must be carefully managed from birth to:
1. Ensure they grow to become productive members of the milking herd
2.Reduce the risk of disease
3.Ensure calf comfort and well being
4.Reduce the risk of injury to other animals and people

Waoo nice content
Thank you
Great content sir,
If you make pellets from bracharia hay mixed with eggs do you still need to feed hay in it's straw form for rumen development
yes as a fodder.
nice content sir. am a vet and an Animal nutritionist , i would like t correct you on the amount of milk you should give a calf . it should be based on weight of the calf. avoid feeding once as this would encourage scours . otherwise its educative
Thank you for the correction.Point noted and thank you for watching.
Thanks Fred for your information.
You are very welcome
Thanks ndugu fred for always endeavouring to give us tips
Always welcome
Have been getting bulls throughout 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Poor timing
At what age do i start giving pellets?
from Day 3
On a video you posted 9 months ago.. you discourage farmers from feeding calves dairy meal. 7 months ago you uploaded a video where you were promoting dairy meal over pellets because of the quality of pellets. You were practically feeding your calf dairy meal. In this video you are taking back your word on dairy meal. What is your stand exactly on feeding calves dairy meal. In this videos you are not advocating for dairy meal but when showing us practically that is what you are feeding your calf 🤷🤷
quality is very critical. If pellets are of sub standard just feed quality dairy meal ,if dairy meal is not of high qiuality feed quality pellets
The information is good but it can be better "IF" it was written down and structured example calves at 1 week 2 weeks 3 weeks until 7 months now dude is jumping from 7 months to milk replacer from milk replacer to chopped hey unstructured.
