Dan among many others have inspired me to take up panning as a hobby. There is nothing better than spending the day on the river panning. My grand total to date is 1.03 grams. Hahaha! 😂 The time spent searching is where the true value is at!

Love your channel, Dan! ...yep, you can find gold on the top of a mountain! I found a red rusty pile of clay and gravel that got dumped into the middle of a dirt road to block it. I scooped up a bucket of the stuff and found actual pickers in it, along with the tiny chunks and the usual dust. The guys on the road crew didn't know what they were dumping! It was in a gold bearing part of Maine, USA. It's true, gold's where you find it.

The operations involved from blasting, hammering and drilling to final processing within the 2 mines would make for some amazing reality shows.

Pretty easy to find your quarry there just based on the power lines. 2 sets of double poles spaced close together with the quarry in between.
I drove truck through that area for years hauling packaged gasses to castelgar.

Hey Dan first greenwood now apex it seems like deja vue as I've been two both those locations 40 yrs ago always wanted to get back to this one .ps I think both are viable today. Thought they were then but life took me in a different direction about 3yrs after lol
Morning Dan, question for you. When you send your sample for assay do they keep whatever gold, silver etc.. they get or do they process it and send it back to you?
I could be wrong, but I believe that you pay to have a sample asseyed. That would mean they would send the precious metals back to you. For them to keep them wouldn't pay for the process.
That valley looks like a fun place to explore on a quad/ motorbike

Great use of the peak for the communication equipment too!! Imagine how much money and environmental costs that saves compared to a bunch of towers! I use to be really into Ham radio, plan on getting back to it soon now that I am retired :0)

Definitely do a ten ton gold sample. That would be really cool to see. Jason's equipment is really amazing. Plus if you smelted it out you could have some cool bars of metal. Would you lose all the copper in the smelt process or could you recover that to?

I really like that you can spend time with your Dad! My Dad died in 1982 when I was 23 years old. We never had the chance to become friends. It's a regret that I carry. He ended up with Cancer. Sadly, it leached all of the good out of him before he was diagnosed with it.
I have a hope of seeing him again. This is in the Bible, if anyone wants to talk about this send me a message....
In my younger days I tried to explore old mine shafts in west central Nevada. It seemed like a different type of dark. No amount of light available at the time made it comfortable. I'm not claustrophobic, but I never could abide being down in a shaft. Never figured the tailings were worth checking out.
Anyway, I enjoy watching your exploits. Living vicariously, I guess.
I have a sample of Granite, Calcite layer with limestone topper. Naturally from the top of Mount Franklin in El Paso. Limestone ! Minor in Geo myself.

On what you are saying that's why find a drill and comins drilling for even large chunks of gold diamonds etc it's easier and faster and you get a lot more

That was an absolutely fantastic explore as usual Dan. I live in an area of England that has been extensively mined for ironstone and there are also several jet mines/out crops (n. Yorks) so it was good to see a faimiliar looking material.
Tip: watch at 75% speed if your relaxing it's almost undetectable and obviously lasts longer 👌🏻

That is a beautiful spot Dan.
That concentration of copper is surprising. How would you extract it to make additional profit from this mine?
With the ore smelted into an alloy you can form it into plates. Those can be used to electrolytically refine the copper.
As in put the plates alternating with thin copper sheets into an electroplating solution and run the right amount of current between the plates and the sheets.
The raw plates will dissolve and the copper deposits onto the sheets building those up into plates of pure copper.
All metals less noble than copper will dissolve into the solution and stay dissolved while the metals that are more noble than copper will settle to the bottom as sludge.
That sludge contains all the precious metals without the base metals so it is pretty ideal for further refining.
All that copper sulfide , that turquoise color , silver , copper n everything else . Great shot from the top !have a good one !
Assuming you're buying these properties low and doing the research with the hope of selling high based on the info you gather. How do you buy these properties? They seem like incredible property, albeit remote, regardless of the presence of minerals or precious metals. I'm not in Canada so I'm sure the process is different, but just curious how you came into possession of all of your various properties.
According to a video a few months ago, it's either at auction or any of the same ways other kinds of land property is traded in Canada
I don't think he's buying the property.. He's buying the mineral rights. Then if the minerals on that property has value he can lease/sell those rights to another party that would do the mining.
