  • Are your kids tackling jumps for the first time? In this tip Lee runs through the point to remember when kids are attempting jumps for the first time. Lee's Building Champions Program has enabled him to give kids the best start possible when hitting the track.

      attempting to survive? You make it sound like it's a difficult thing. Kawasaki and other MX schools allow women with no MX experience hit jumps on their first day and they don't even need to know how to turn on a track all that well.

    It all comes down to the jump and how you are feeling at that moment plus what type of bike you have. A lot of factors that will determine every jump.

  • @kellienicolebrooksschettin6598

    Nice to remember learning things as a kid,something adults need to do be like a sponge and listen with a clear head follow instructions to the letter,big thing that really helped me was learning to stay in command of the front end because the back mite go a little crooked but its only going to eventually follow the front wheel,and when u accelerate u body weight goes back so u need to be to the front because you are gonna get moved back and if u are back and u go back from there the front will be unloaded with no weight on it u keep the front straight and the back will follow its connected to the frame,so make sure ur front wheel is pointing where u are jumping to and the rest will follow,if your weight is back on the bike and the back lands crooked it would be pretty and ur most likely going to crash.I have seen some pretty weird crashes that's why,keep the front straight when u land and your weight on it till it straightens both ends u go smoothly on your way,repeat an rinse,repeat and rinse...

  • @kellienicolebrooksschettin6598

    Nicely done good photography angles perfect jump for some one new rider,yeah landing oh can't we learn that later,ha ha,I especially like your simple attack of explaining,yeah those little guy and new riders,got watch out for kickas,take off and landing,I really like that point you made.where was ya when I hit my first kicker,it really wasn't the kicker it was my elbows down in road racing mode that made it exciting.but bumps on way up and landing real good job on that,I think it cool that new guys walk around,and see bumps,just so they don't freak when they see it in the air to late..going to a track,get out early in practice,if you can before faces of jumps get warn down with kickas,also staying to the inside when your new and going slow over jumps,right turn after inside is to the right going up jump ,either way try to hold straight line over jump even if your just rolling thru it no matter what side your on.Brand riders might want keep ears open to,and eyes to who if any real fast riders are coming up behind,before you get near the jump.Also putting arm or hand in the air,tells riders behind you that your slowing up some as going to the jump...another thing a lot of tracks have little areas for beginners,if they don't ask if they'd make some small jumps that you can practice on,just landing out on flat ground is best starting place.till you get to learn the attitude of your bike, that's how it flys ,level or front up or front down,level is what you want for beginning point...later you'll learn how to move with bike when your speed go up and traction increases or decreases as you throttle up jumps on different types of dirt.mellow mellow..
    Great body position on the little guy,big guy needs work,he terrible what the heck ...

  • @kellienicolebrooksschettin6598

    Real big key for first timer is to relax breath normal don't hold your breath,funny but nerves will do that,moving a little forward on the landing as you gas away helps you stay central,throttle on you will move back naturally,so that little move forward readys you for the force of acceleration when land on ground you be back in the center of bike,not back more from center.This was the biggest thing that learned myself,that I was messing up when I was first jumping,Cam did nice job of stay in position,but that last shot he gassed away he did that nice smooth,little coward move and then ,little flow back as gas came on,true master,ringer...he was good example,kept er nice flat...kids study his body movements cause they don't much better...stylin...

  • @kellienicolebrooksschettin6598

    I wish we had this stuff to learn from when I was learning.I would get into the why part of it but thanks,most average person does not understand these are lightweight pro quality bikes u need to learn how they move jump fly turn and brake accelerate,they ain't no box of chocolates,if u don't....the less u know the more its gonna kick ur butt...so learn the right stuff.

    I have a hard time with my front end dipping down hard. Try to keep my weight centered, head above the handle bars, and squeeze with my legs but it still wants to dip on me. I've almost been thrown over the handle bars a few times already. Next time I ride I'm going to pay more attention to the throttle and make sure Im not letting off too early.

    • @harrison_jz5895
      @harrison_jz5895 Před 7 lety +3

      jsk8drummer don't let off to early and if your front end starts to dip a lot give it some power and that then gets the back wheel spinning which brings the front end up 👍🏻

      yup pretty much the same here. bought a yfz450r and being older realized I was letting off the throttle as the front left the ground. didn't wreck but it wasn't a comfortable landing. decided to give it the screw it plan and came in with more speed and that deff helped. but for an hour that's all I did was build confidence each time I jumped. but fatigue also plays a role too.
