The map looks gorgeous and I cannot wait to explore it. However, the animals somewhat of a lost opportunity. Let's face it, there will never be another chance for coues deer, and standard whitetail could have been saved for an Appalachian map down the road, but there we are. I wish that they had added the desert bighorns and desert mule deer as visual variations similar to what they did with the Rio Grande turkeys. And as for great-grandpa's trench gun, yeah; I am not sure we actually needed another shotgun, but even so a modern one would have been nice. (EW seems to have a thing for ancient weapons.) All in all, however, I am sure it will be great fun, and in the end, minor quibbles don't really matter.

White tail hunting will be a lot easier. Don't have to run a whole river as we did in Layton. Its just lakes now, which is perfect.

I have been suggesting horses for months now! YES!
When I was a kid I played a hunting game where you can unlock a hunting scope that has X-ray so you can see the animals organs so you can shoot the heart and lungs, this game should do that it would be awesome

I'm excited for the pheasants! I could get excited about the future possibility of horses... but not until they fix the bloodhounds.

Whenever I enter a structure that I buy to build, it places me in the the bottom under the actual stand and I cannot get out unless I fast travel. Is there s fix to this? Thanks in advance.
Thank you my friend! Glad it's helping!! Yes sadly it's an issue with the stands after last patch on certain maps. We're hoping for a fix asap

hey beard! am defo looking forward to picking this map up! do you know any of the devs or a way to contact them for ideas? i play on console and the game runs and looks great! however there is a huge issue with thumbstick drift which is very annoying! i was hoping to ask the devs if they could put a deadzone slider into the settings

I would love to see dust storms and thunderstorms on this map. It would be so cool when you're hunting a great one and a dust storm hits and you're trying to hun this animal.
Did they release it 4 consoles as well or just PC?
I hope they change the whitetail a little bit Mexican white tail are different then ur norther white tail body weight is different and antlers don’t have as much mass. Also I wish they would make each of the turkeys different also like gobble and different fans

How do they manage to get this many animals in one pack? I’m trying to follow your guide about hotspot and I hardly get more than 1 animal per spot.
Great Video Jax, not to be the negative guy in the room, but has there been any mention of making bow hunting more realistic? Like people taking 80 yd shots, animals dropping instantly or only running 20 yards. The best one is shooting a compound/recurve in the prone position, hahaha. Anyhow, good stuff and great info. 80 yard shots are doable with real archery equipment... And it's actually quite common to spine animals with an arrow.. And have them drop instantly... And short 20 yard blood trails? Very common with heart shot animals... Broadheads are very efficient at causing unconsciousness when they deflate two lungs and cut the aorta off the top of the heart.... Heart shots often run much less than 50 yards in real life.

@@ryans9029 I will assume you do NOT hunt in real life.....Yes, I've been hunting 40+ years (Bow, muzzleloader, rifle, shotgun) squirrel, rabbit, turkey, deer, and black bear etc.. 80 yards yes doable with a lot of luck and a perfect condition and an IDIOT who would even attempt it. Most hunters are at their max range at about 40 yards. My pins are set at 15/22/30. I have tried playing around going farther back and at 50+ yards the pin is covering the most of the target. NO respectful hunter is going to risk an 80 yard shot and wounding an animal. ..... You say "common to spine animals" NO it isn't. If your commonly shooting animals in the spine, you need to get out of the woods and back on the target range and practice. When I get a good double lung shot and wait at least an hour before tracking. Those deer typically travel 150-200 yards. .....Arrows are not bullets and have no "Shock" power. ......Watch some "real life" hunting videos. Tell me how many spine shots guys are taking. See how many animals "just drop" after being hit with an arrow. Have a good day.

im honestly pretty happy they have another map for whitetail deer but i wish they could have had an Asian map where we can hunt tiger, rhinos, yak, and red pandas as the small predator and so much more. i just wish we had more exotic animals to hunt

@@Jayboss2034 true I don’t like Layton too much mainly because it feels plain to me. This map hopefully is good but I’m really on the downside of this because a lot of reskins in my opinion

As somebody who rides horses for a living I really hope they don't put horses into the game. It would bug me if it wasn't realistic. And if you bail off a horse and goto banging away they aren't going to usually hang out. Now there are exceptions of course.
Horses that are trained, just like hunting dogs, do not run from gun fire.
You experience with untrained horses is not typical of horses that are trained and used for hunting.
Most dogs don't like fireworks... It's just lack of training.

Map looks great with some cool animals to hunt. But, fuck, still no 17hmr....hehe.
I really hope that they work on some airguns on this new expansion. It's a very common way of hunting things down in Latin America, especially birds and small game in general. Greetings from Brazil!!

Something has to be done about the way we hunt pheasants as right now it's absolutely stupid and very very in un realistic
Seem overly happy for a 16 gauge (we already have 1), the map is gorgeous but all the maps are gorgeous, nothing about it looks different or anything. I just wish you'd be a bit more critical.
Sorry but I don't feel there is anything I need to be more critical about for this one. I am genuinely happy about getting a new shotgun for the pheasants. The new pheasants mechanic is going to be a great addition to this game. The map has 3 biomes and has introduced cacti that can injure the player. Ya I'm excited for all this 🤣 as mentioned in the vid about the only thing I'm disappointed in are the fact we didn't get an 17 hmr.

Another SHOTGUN?? in 16 gauge...........We already have 15/16 models of them in all calibers all configurations !!.....Besides the Ciccatore pump action shotgun that we already have is better than this new one because it has the triniumm ilumminated sight, and it comes in 12 ga which is even a better caliber........It is obvious that no one at EW hunts or knows what they are doing

Uplandbirds are not generally hunted with 12 gauge shotguns... Mostly 28g, 20g, and 16g.
Every with turkeys, the current trend is towards the .410 shotgun.
12 gauge is not "better"
Reality is, you clearly are not a real life hunter. The cotw developers actually have done a very good job of being accurate to the historical trends in real life hunting.... You just don't understand real hunting.
One of the problems I am having with shotguns ingame is, that i cant seem to get vital hits on small deer and thus failing the profiency check every time. (Last try with the Nordin: right ammo, 2 full hits at neck and body: 11 and 14 hits but none pierced deep enough for vital, roe deer went down really fast, profiency check failed)
Yet another map full of reskinned 3D models of animals...Lazy work, nothing interesting.

Idk why people complain about bugs an stuff is the game a finish product? No no it’s not guys if it was finished an it had bugs an glitches than I would understand the crying. Y’all keep in mind it’s not finished so expect bugs an glitches right now your just crying cause you didn’t get what you wanted. It’s sad an it’s truth out of all groups an CZcams comments y’all don’t even deserve a hunting game. Also crying over reskin like grow up how else you think they do it? I’m real life everything a reskin I guess.
