When I went to the Frio when I was 6, I found just a thin red bamboo stick with a hook and some fishing string. I could pull out a catfish every minute back to back to back. And I’m on a cliff that just goes straight down into the river so I have a overhead view of them going back for seconds after I released them. Such a surreal fishing experience.
That's beautiful and didn't new that there are Ciclids in cold water. I saw on Google that Frio river can get 7.7 degrees cold 😬. Do they thrive whole year or do they search warmer water at other streams???? Are these cichlids also for sale for in a pond?? Would love to know if this is a Texas cichlid. Gr and nice footage 😁👍👍👍

@@Bassassins : Well seems I can buy cyanoguttatus just near my town 😁 I'm really dubbing for the near future between Texas or Parachromis Dovii, but the temperature of Texas cichlid interested me little more now and bit smaller. Going to research this fish first. Next to that I can also get Vallesneria Americana. In indoor open aquarium, 600 ltr, 158.50 gallon. Will use cooler and heater for biotope. L1.55XW1.15xD45. It's a polyester pond, us the depth good enough for the Texas cichlid? Which stream pomp would you advice? Will be solitaire male with 3 pleco's, that I already have. Would you advice an intern or extern filter? I don't want a busy pond, but max space for few species. Hope you could answer my questions. Gr from Amsterdam

I was watching one of tys videos I know about him from some kids at a pond I was fishing they were like ty fishes here!! Been watching him for a while now and I saw him with you in one video was like omg I remember him!! Can’t forget the name! Y’all fish some nice looking spots
Every part of the frio holds fish, you’ve just got to spend some time walking it and familiarize yourself with the area you fish. Find deep water and try to cast at the fish before they see you. Good luck!
@@Bassassins do you think a red colored craw fish would work at the frio cause I throw green pumpkin and stuff and catch a bunch on it but allways is red since there red crawfish

I’ve seen plenty of Tx Cichlids out there! They seem to handle the cold just fine. The fish in the thumbnail is a green sunfish
