Major Style Upgrade for the Tesla Model 3 - MSS Suspension Daily Driver Review

  • Introducing one of the lesser known but more used vehicles in our fleet, a Tesla Model 3. It is Eventuri Co-Founder Bilal Mahmood's daily driver, and also a development car for our latest brand, Evaero.
    In this video we give the Model 3 some much needed aggression, helping it stand out from all the other Tesla's you're starting to see on the roads. We lower the car using MSS's Ride Management System, improving handling and increasing range without sacrificing comfort. With the car sitting lower it was time to get rid of the kitchen appliance white for a new dark metallic grey, and finish the look off with some 6Sixty Design Emblem wheels!

    the transformation of the car was amazing, the wrap really made a night and day difference suspension was lowered just enough and had benefits and the wheels what can i say they just look part as if they should always been there and the blacked out trim overall sealed it to make it the best Tesla model 3 i have ever seen, i know with Michelins i found out that i put a new set on my Volvo and it had Michelins on it already just 6 yr old set, these were just the next generation of the tire and i drive a 100km/day , over the course of a week i am finding that i get a 100km a tank of petrol more with the new tires, I love it and they are quiet 👍 i look forward to the future videos on this model 3

    Imran, I love how you are branching out with the products you offer . I’m sure you remember I’m in the Midwest of the America’s where snow is prevalent in the winter. I have recently purchased a C43 amg for the 4matic drivetrain. The C63 is quite amazing but with 2wd it is useless half of the year in the wet and snow. There would be a great market for a c43 amg cold air intake in Britain and the Americas. I would love to have an Eventuri intake for it. Please consider developing one because with a stage one or two tune the c43 could have potential of matching or excelling c63 performance with awd. Great content as always mate. Cheers

      That's so true, the C63 really does struggle with initial grip in slippery conditions. But in the dry from a roll it's great.

    Thank you for this video. I am a bit of a petrol-head my self. But, like Bilal, I have to drive a long daily round-trip. I am driving 120 miles. In 2020 I ran the calculations and realized that my average monthly fuel and maintenance costs were about the same as monthly payments on a new Model 3. Those costs didn't include the current monthly payment for the current vehicle! Additionally, I also noticed a dramatic decrease in stress after using the Tesla. I had already reduced my travel speed because I ran those numbers in my petrol vehicle and noticed a savings of 5% fuel with only a loss of 2 minutes to my destination. That same calculation holds up with the Tesla. It is just that the "fuel" is battery charge. I am still slightly over the posted speed, but not an attraction for police, which also helps with the travel stress. Since fuel and EV prices have skyrocketed this year, I am very glad that I took delivery of mine in September last year.
    Regarding the suspension: I am not a fan of how high my car rides stock and I have been considering a method to lower the car. I like how yours turned out. I was pleased to hear that it might have helped with the range. I am curious if making the wheels lighter and more flush with the exterior of the body may have also helped? What offset did you use?
    I look forward to looking through your videos to see how your kits look and how they affect performance and range.

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      Exactly the same calculations Bilal did with his ICE car before he got the Model 3!
      We haven't seen a massive difference in range with lighter wheels, and making them more flush actually decreases the range as the air becomes more disturbed by the rotating face.
      Are their gains to be had with wheel design? I'm sure there are, but for Bilal he's happy with the slight sacrifice to achieve the look he wanted. Simplest rule of thumb is for max efficiency to stick to the stock wheels as the manufacturer will have done a lot of work to reduce their negative effect.

    Great video Imran. Whats the range loss with the new rims

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 3 lety +3

      About 10% from what we’ve seen. Unsure how much of this is due to increased rolling resistance from the grippier PS4S and how much is fitment. It’s an interesting learning curve for us and is something we will look in to further. There must be range gains to be had from lighter wheels, unfortunately it seems getting the fitment bang on is what is killing it. Would be good to find a happy medium or a wheel design that aids aero for range increase possibly.
      The use case Bilal puts it through is probably worst case for the wheels, sitting on the motorway at 70mph. Can imagine around town the effect would be much less.

    • @christmasisawesome9348
      @christmasisawesome9348 Před 3 lety

      @@EvolveAutomotive I think the wheels need to be significantly lighter.. not just 2-3kgs.
      Also, the design of the wheels contribute to the loss of range too. The aero cover from Tesla increase the range a tiny bit.
      The stickier and wider wheels also reduce the range.

      what's the offset??

  • @Chappers158
    @Chappers158 Před 3 lety

    it's probably not the wheels that's reduced the range, it's the tyres. You've gone from a Hankook Summer economy(ish) (S1 Evo) tyre to a Michelin performance tyre (PS4S), which whilst improving the handling will also unfortunately have a higher rolling resistance. I'm guessing you've also gone wider than a 235 too?

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes this is also a possibility, but we chose the Tesla specific tyre in case they had altered the PS4S to have a lower rolling resistance. Unfortunately couldn’t find a decent brand economy tyre in the standard size.
      Tyres are whatever size the performance uses.
      It’s something to do more research in for shre.

    • @Chappers158
      @Chappers158 Před 3 lety +1

      @@EvolveAutomotive yes as you know the 4S has essentially replaced the super sport hasn’t it, so whilst tech has moved on it can’t perform magic tricks whilst keeping the same grip levels. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, unless it’s made the commute range anxiety worse. Just keep the other set of wheels for longer journeys, refurb them grey or black and fit them if he’s got further to go. Car looks ace now, I’m still not quite sold on the overall shape but you’ve certainly improved things aesthetically.
