Gameplay of Pokémon Omega Ruby recorded by me, in between sessions of playing the new Pokémon game, Legends Arceus! In this series we take a look at the official strategy guides and try to beat the game by following them as closely as possible, as Nintendo intended or, as Nintended!

Omg no way I have that book.
So... the guide asked you to smash Roxanne and blow away Brawley? Not Sure how I feel about that Sea, but whatever.
I feel it’s awfully fitting that I was the 69th like
this sounds like bi erasure lol
*Why do I hear police sirens?*
Hahahahhahahashshs nicely noticed @Emerald Composer
May and Brendan canonically bi I guess
It's interesting to see how over the years the quality of the guidebooks really improved. The earlier guides were almost a joke with all the mistakes and typos, but it seems like they really cracked down on it in later years. It's too bad guidebooks are dying out. I always loved getting the guidebook with a new game.
My mom got me one as a prank. She gave me one for Halo 2 a month before Christmas. I didn't own an XBox and assumed we were too poor to get one.
I have a mixed view on strat guides, 😆

To be fair, vending machines are really good healing sources in the early game, they are basically potion sellers but at a discount, and without the downsides of using herbs
Soda-pops should have a downside effect of "fattening up" your pokemon, making them slower, sluggish, and heavier, as a temporary debuff that can stack, but also increasing their physical defense (fattening up) and speed (caffiene) as a small buff.
What Downside of Using Herb ???
@@soumyadeep676 they are bitter and cause the pokemon to have less friendship. It's only really important if you are working on a mon with friendship evolutions
I heard there's an official guidebook for Legend Arceus coming out in April. Can't wait to see you cover it!
He better score it in two shakes of a lambs tail :/
AND LAY WASTE TO VOLO
Huh, feels like a late release.
This is actually the game I wanted a nintended video for the most this was epic
Yea, definitely wanted this Nintended vid
Norman: Hey kid, sorry for the childhood neglect and whatnot. Here, have a clock.
People don't give Aqua and Magma enough slack. They're always called out for having a dumb plan, when they're probably the most reasonable ones. Maxie wants to make way for more land in order to increase the world's progress whilst Archie wants to flood the world and return it to its original state where pokémon could freely thrive in the wild without any human interactions. Definitely more reasonable than wanting to kill everybody and restart the world because you're just not very happy... Cyrus.
Their plan is to play Minecraft lmfao.
Team Rocket is the most reasonable "Steal Pokémon, get money"
@@ExpandDong420 yep.

I kinda feel like those could be the political ideals of a Metal Gear Rising boss given we got a sequel
ORAS actually made me enjoy gen 3 for the first time really because it got rid of some of the worst backtracking sections by just giving you the option to travel off screen with your rival basically.
Also made the water sections more enjoyable because if I had to name one thing I've never liked in Pokèmon it's long water sections and that's kind of gen 3s whole thing. I also enjoyed the fuck out of flying with Latias/Latios instead of normal flying for some reason. All in all a good remake in my opinion but the battle area should have been there for sure.
I can't be the only one who had never heard of the move Quash until now, right?
Would have also loved to see the Delta Episode as Nintended.
Papa sea: makes his castform hail yeah.
MandJTV fans: HAIL YEAH!!!!
24:05 - This actually may have been written before the games were complete. In the original RSE, the Red Orb was _supposed to_ control Kyogre, and the Blue Orb for Groudon. It kinda made sense to me, given that their markings in the title screens flashed red and blue respectively, but the leaders goofed and got the wrong orbs in gen 3. Nintendo switched which Orb each leader picked up for ORAS, however, so they got the right ones.
Somehow all roads lead me back to Hoenn. Was my first region after all. While not the best one, I think it stands as one of the greats.
Same, i always fall for the nostalgia, the region and especially the soundtrack!
Hoenn is personally my favorite!

First thing I noticed about the guide was that it used the r/s/e art for the starters instead of the updated art made for the remake
“And then the guy told me about shiny Pokémon“ The rest of the video is just him hunting shiny Pokémon forgetting there’s a plot
I wonder how the original ruby and sapphire guide would hold up in omega ruby and alpha sapphire. Could be interesting to see the hijinks and all the differences.
It freaked me out when I first saw the Mauville or whatever city as a mall, very weird at first
Score! What luck! Papasea released a new Nintended!
At least with using all the vending machines, you stay hydrated enough.
I feel like the ruby/sapphire intro on GBA looking is a throwback and I felt it was nice nostalgia before we get thrown into the ORAS graphics.
I fucking hate how that couldn’t happen with Gen 4 remakes. Hoenn fans should be thankful they’re remakes are good. Since Gen 8 games are gonna be shit.
This was great. I loved Wally's battle theme when he battles you at Victory Road. Also, i love how Papasea always say "2 shakes of a lambs tail."
I feel uncomfortable when the guide said to smash Roxanne. Do they means defeat her or...
Definitely the second option due to the specificity of “smash her fast.”
Yes.
you know exactly what they mean
I mean 😏
I absolutely LOVE this game. A legends game in Hoenn would make me cry
I just wanna say that I really appreciate how you’ve continued to use the random sayings from the early Nintended videos.
i can't wait till scarlet and violet nintended comes out next year or maybe in 4 years
I absolutely love these videos. I haven't been able to play all of the pokemon games growing up so its cool to see how the game is meant to be played and get the back info that you provide. Keep up the great work.
15:04 would have been an *incredible* transition into a security-related sponsor, omg. here's hoping there'll be one in your future that you can weave in just as cleverly!
I appreciate him naming the Castform Hail Yeah. I love it when PokéTubers reference each other
Fun fact! I actually used Nincada in my Alpha Sapphire nuzlocke as it was the only ground pokemon I had access to back then!
Man, I had a really good time watching through this entire playlist. It’s super-interesting to watch a play through in this style it’s really refreshing and original. Thank you for dedicating your time, can’t wait to see more!
I was there for the livestreams tbh my favorite 3DS pokemon game~
Idk why but these videos give such a calming feeling. I used to binge watch them last year when I’d get anxious over stuff
I feel like you're going to pick up new odd turns of phrase from every video that you do until a year from now the entire video is cobbled together from code and running jokes.
This strategy guide written by Beautifly and Makuhita gang. Use Beautifly and Makuhita!
I would also like to believe the writer of this guide somehow managed to sweep Watson with only a Nincada.
I'm proud of you, I know how much restraint it took to not rip that berry page out
This guide isn’t wrong about Beautifly being a good choice. I used one on a recent Alpha Sapphire playthrough and it was actually amazing. Even before I got quiver dance, it was still an MVP team member.
Gonna watch this before i start a new playthrough in ORAS
Holy crap!! I've been doing my first oras runthrough and been waiting for this video unknowingly :O
Yes! These were my first games (I got into Pokémon pretty late), and I cannot listen to the Petalburg Woods music without drowning in nostalgia (both the original and remake tracks). Best Pokémon remakes that I've played! (Keep in mind I haven't played HGSS past the second gym and that was years ago, so I'll hold out on that)
I see what you did there with the Castform… nice 😂
Can I get a Hail yea!?
@@gamewisdomgaming Hail yeah
@@gamewisdomgaming Hail yea you can!
Every character and every TCG card has a bulbapedia page, so I guess they couldn't miss Dock.
Of course you are gonna name Castform "Hail Yeah" - there is no other name in the world for this wonderful Pokémon.
Considering how powerful Alakazam and how early one can have one as well as getting an Alakazamite super early I'm surprised the guide didn't just say use it
I mean it is trade locked, so yknow
I honestly have been really nostalgic for this game and wanting to play it again so this really scratches that itch for me (since my cart was in the faulty batch that were susceptible to failing) by watching you do your standard Nintended challenge. These videos are always very fun and keep up the good work
Thank you so much for this video. ORAS was my first Pokémon game and I grinded it to death. I haven’t seen this game ever since I began my teenage years
I've learnt two things from this video: you can buy from the vending machines in Brawly's gym, and the guy who wrote this loves vending machines. He'll be in paradise in Tokio, then.
ok that sponsor segue into no sponsorship was amazing. better than the good segues into actual sponsors ive seen anyone do
I presume that the guide suggested to use Nincada to fill the role as the Pokémon you can send out to resist the electric attacks while you heal your team for free in the case that you did not choose Mudkip as your starter. Kind of the same role that Bidoof fills in the Diamond&Pearl games.
This Is Honestly Getting Better Everytime
Really enjoy you doing the videos keep up the awesome work
Another top notch video. These are always great! :)
These games were amazing, love that it has the strategy guide too!
As per usual the guides are different from how we all would play.
I've been watching a lot of your videos lately. You're very entertaining. Hoenn is my favorite region and now I'm subscribed to you.
That is very cool. Also now i want my own copy of the handbooks, they tend to be wrong at times but i enjoy reading for one and for 2 i would love to read it because of the interview and i mainly like behind the scenes content
Finally get to catch up on this. Good work my dude
That's a mix version of "rivers in the desert" from Persona 5 at the beginning, nice~
The way i got prepared for the VPN ad-read lol love watching these videos
First one of these I’ve watched and I’m concerned with how many references I think I’m missing
Oras…now that brings back memories. This was my introduction to the world of pokemon games. I remember spending day after day playing this, and having the best time of my life. My love for this game will never change as long as i live
This seems like a very good guide. A lot better than other ones you've shown
Loving all your videos ❤️
No idea if the mix up on the Red Orb/Blue Orb in the voice over is intentional, but Maxie/Archie grab the proper orb in these games. They do grab the wrong orb in the original games, hence why I'm not sure if it's intentional.
I had this guide as a kid! Loved it!
It’d be kinda cool if original ruby and sapphire the fire/water gym leader had a tie to the corresponding evil team
I haven't watched you a in a while man. Gotta say, it's good to be back!
i was VERY excited for this one because i owned the guide book too and i had recently considered replaying oras as nintended with it because of your videos! (i ended up not doing it because i do not have the patience to read through the entire book)
Hail yeah!
I love those little references everytime you get a Castform haha
This video is funny and entertaining. Good job, Sea!
FRLG crawled for HGSS to walk. HGSS walked for ORAS to soar. ORAS soared leaving BDSP to flop on the ground dead as a doornail
man bdsp was straight dumpster fire
@@astromays626 dumpster fires are atleast useful in keeping you warm on a cold night, and gets rid of useless garbage
Bdsp isn't worth even that
@@ninnusridhar you know what… you are right my good sir… it’s below trash

PS. I was only talking about remakes lol
I love your vids. Also love the persona music.
Liked for the 'lost' ad.
Edit: also for the vending machines
I loved AS. First playthrough I got shaking grass early on and found a Lotad with GIGA DRAIN! I had Torchic as the starter so had amazing coverage before gym 1.
The Rocky Helmet guy in the weather institute is hinted to be a guy who worked on Sea Mauville.
One of those nice little details that OR/AS has everywhere.
7:59 Glad I just so happened to watch this reference immediately before this one. By no intention, just what came up first searching videos for these games. It was a good laugh.
I just recently found your channel through MandJTV's video reacting to one of your nintended videos and you might be the king of deadpan humour

Nintendo knows what they've done
finally, I have been waiting for this. I really like ORAS
The persona music in the background🔥🔥
I just noticed Wally gets the hardest starter pokemon. He needs to struggle train until he learns confusion.
I always thought about playing the game by following this exact handbook, now I guess I know how it goes
I have this guide!! Found it while thrifting a few years back!
I've recently started playing Sapphire how Arceus intended. Basically, checklists for each Pokémon, including hatching one. Heading to elite 4 and my team is at late 50-early 60
The fake out ad break had me dying bro 🤣
Yes Colorado is high, but a lone volcano being 5’000 feet is what’s impressive. Mountain that get that talk eventually blow their tops off and get shorter, because a ton of complicated science stuff
Hoenn has always been my favorite region so loved this
VPN companies wish they sponsored this video because that would have been a SMOOTH segueway
Denver is the mile high city! Love the videos!
I like how they said they planned ORAS 2 years in advance but still didn’t bother to put the battle frontier in :/
This series is hilarious
I used this guidebook religiously as a kid haha
These videos are a Love Letter to Eric and that's just beautiful.
Started replaying it 5 days ago. Ppl are still using GTS and more :) Im rly loving this replay.
1:18 thank goodness, the berry page is ok.
Is that Persona 5 music in the beginning? Nice!
The reference to mr Brineys wingull being fast is in relation to the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull which is about a Seagull who wants to be the fastest seagull and who ends up transcending existence because of it.
That almost-ad for Nord VPN really got me 😆
Everytime I see one of these I get very excited
Imagine if Nintendo actually gave PaPaSea a guide for the upcoming generation 9 Pokemon game 😬😬😬
I’ve had this book and it’s actually very useful for full sec runs
