Detailing a 55 Year Old Mercedes W108 - Exterior & Interior

- This dirty 1967 Mercedes W108 gets it first detail in 10 years! In last week's video, the car received a thorough exterior wash and today I'm going to get to work on polishing the paint. I'm also going to give the interior a well-deserved deep clean to get rid of all the mold and grime. Hope you enjoy!

Car manufacturers don't build to last any longer, they build with a failure date and this includes Mercedes. This 55 year old Mercedes in many ways is better than anything being built in the last 30 years with a few exceptions.
Simply mechanics and build like a tank
No doubt. They don’t have to design a part that fails after certain mileage all they need to do is to program the HCU that runs the car.
Man! I love how calmly you detail cars. Seems like there’s no deadline or need to rush. It’s relaxing to watch and the results are just wow!

The good part about buying a new car is always cleaning it, and then polishing it to one's standard.
Back when that Mercedes was built they were quality cars. I remember one of the Drs in our community bought a 68 240D brand new for his wife. Beautiful craftsmanship. Nowadays with all the electronics they’re a nightmare.

On older cars like these, do you ever measure the paint? Sometimes there could be very little paint left and a softer polish could be a better option. Just curious.
Most cars of this age have single stage paint ie no clear coat. A detailer has to be very careful with paint like this

Hey you forgot the carpet and head liner! If there is mould on the vinyl there is mould right through the leather seats and carpets. You should know that you can remove the carpet panels ( except for the front seats) . And you will find a lot of unhealthy stuff under there.

The car had beautiful paint right after it was washed.
That Merc looked in perfect condition.
Better washed without all these chemicals….hot, soapy water, dry and Polish.
What is the function of the plaster, why should it be limited?
Later it will also be polished.
