I could never do this, they’d all end up my pets. Since I had my daughter I can’t kill anymore without remorse. I loved hunting, but can’t anymore.
I can’t even fish anymore. I can clean them all day but I don’t have the heart to dispatch them.
Do they know the rabbits are food? I remember finding out we were going to eat the baby rabbits when I was a kid and it hurt my feelings.
Hurt feelings is ok. Emotions are ok. I know we do not like having to put an animal down but necessary to feed our family. Good parents walk through the process with their kids so they fully understand. If anyone eats meat, buys it from a grocery store, then I know I would rather my kids and I raise it with all the love respect and care we can give it right here on our homestead.
@@skittlesskittles7577 i think I would have been better if they told me from the beginning but I think it was one of those “do you know what you’re eating” type of situations.

I had a situation where my parents had me eat what I thought was chicken and then told me it was a frog leg. Not a cute bunny but I would rather have known than not. 😬😅
Yea I explain and talk about everything with our kids. They get every bit of information and how things work. they are allowed to make their own choice on the matter. And ask any questions.
We usually do a fair Amount of hunting and fishing. So most of this isn’t new to them either.
