      Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful 😊 thanks for the suggestion! I’m definitely thinking about doing a video for the braiding process. As for the cutting, if the only leaf on it fell off then it will have no way of producing energy for new growth as in new roots. I’d suggest taking a cutting with at least one full leaf and put it in water for a few weeks. Hope that helps!

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před 10 měsíci

      Absolutely! You're on the right track. Planting the broken branch in water is a common method for propagating Money Trees. Those white things you see are most likely the beginnings of roots, which is a great sign that your propagation is progressing well. Keep an eye on the roots, and when they're a few inches long, you can transplant your cutting into soil. Good luck with your propagated Money Tree! 🪴

    My pachira tree has alot of small new leaves that don’t grow big, like super multiplied on one stem how do i prone to have strong leaves growing

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před 2 lety

      If you’re looking for big leaves, you’ll need the right amount of light, air circulation, and feed. This time of year is when Money Trees grow, so that’s probably why you’re getting those new leaves. Pruning them off might not be the best thing for big leaves. Make sure you’re feeding it enough during it’s growing season, gets enough bright, indirect light (east-facing window are best), and running a fan in the room for some air circulation might help. Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 🤞🏼

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před 2 měsíci

      You can keep it in the smaller pot until it outgrows the space or becomes root-bound. The pot might look smaller due to camera angles or the potting mix settling, but it's still suitable for propagation.

    I have been trying to propagate my money tree. One in soil. Two in two different glasses of water. They are smell stems with yellow leaves. There is a light clear type root I think in the water ones? No dots on stems. I'm close to just propagating my entire original plant. It's showing a lot of new growth but small and has dying leaves now and then. Any advice?

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před 11 měsíci

      It's great that you're trying different propagation methods for your money tree! The presence of light, clear roots in the water stems indicates that they are starting to develop root systems. However, if the stems have no dots (nodes), it might be challenging for them to produce new leaves and grow into full plants.
      For better success, try the following tips:
      1. Make sure each stem cutting has at least one node, as this is where roots and new growth emerge.
      2. Trim any yellow or dying leaves, as they won't recover and may even hinder the propagation process.
      3. Consider using a rooting hormone when propagating in soil or water, as it can encourage root growth.
      4. Provide proper lighting: Money trees prefer bright, indirect light, so ensure they get enough light but not direct sunlight, especially during the propagation phase.
      5. Maintain appropriate moisture levels: For water propagation, change the water regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria and provide a clean environment for the roots.
      6. Be patient: Propagation takes time, and some cuttings might take longer than others to establish roots and show new growth.
      If your original money tree is showing signs of new growth but also has some dying leaves, ensure you're providing adequate care, including proper watering, humidity, and light conditions. It's okay to prune away unhealthy leaves to redirect the plant's energy towards new growth.
      Remember, propagation can be a trial-and-error process, so don't be discouraged by setbacks. Keep experimenting, and with some patience and care, you'll likely succeed in propagating your money tree successfully. Good luck! 🌱😊

    Is there a way to make the money plant bushy? Its like it loses its bottom leaves..its healthy...

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před 10 měsíci

      To encourage a bushier and healthier money tree (Pachira), there are several steps you can take. First, consider regular pruning to trim back longer stems just above a leaf node. This will stimulate new growth and help maintain a fuller appearance. Additionally, make sure to rotate the plant regularly to ensure even sunlight exposure on all sides, preventing it from becoming lopsided. Proper watering is crucial; allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings and ensure the pot has good drainage. During the growing season (spring and summer), use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer to provide essential nutrients for healthy growth. If your money tree has outgrown its current pot, consider repotting it into a slightly larger container to provide more space for the roots to grow. Maintaining higher humidity levels around the plant, either through misting or using a water tray, can help prevent leaf loss. Be vigilant in checking for pests like spider mites or mealybugs, as they can stress the plant and lead to leaf drop. If any pests are detected, take appropriate measures to eliminate them. Lastly, ensure your money tree is placed in the right lighting conditions-bright, indirect light is ideal, but it can tolerate some direct sunlight. By following these steps, you can promote a bushier and healthier money tree.

    Hi can you please tell me how to save my money tree I sat it out side and the leaves are turning yellow also the trunk is brown but still hard 😢

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před rokem

      I'm sorry to hear about the condition of your money tree. Yellowing leaves and a brown trunk can indicate potential issues. Here are a few suggestions to help save your plant:
      1. Assess sunlight exposure: Money trees prefer bright, indirect light. If you placed it outside, it may be receiving too much direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn. Consider moving it to a location with filtered light or bringing it indoors if the weather permits.
      2. Check watering habits: Overwatering or underwatering can lead to leaf yellowing. Make sure you're providing adequate water by checking the soil moisture. Water the plant thoroughly but allow the top inch of soil to dry out before the next watering. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging.
      3. Evaluate temperature and humidity: Money trees thrive in average room temperatures (around 65-75°F or 18-24°C) and moderate humidity. Exposure to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature fluctuations can stress the plant. Ensure a consistent and suitable environment for its growth.
      4. Prune damaged leaves and branches: Trim any yellowing or damaged leaves, as well as any dead branches. This will redirect the plant's energy towards healthier growth. Make clean cuts just above a leaf node or where the branch meets the main trunk.
      5. Monitor pests: Inspect the plant for any signs of pests, such as spider mites or scale insects. Treat any infestations promptly with appropriate insecticidal soaps or horticultural oils.
      Remember, it's important to be patient when nursing a struggling plant back to health. Make adjustments to its care routine and provide the necessary conditions for recovery. If the issues persist or worsen, consider consulting a local plant expert or nursery for further guidance. Good luck with your money tree!

Bitkilerden hiç anlamadığım için yanlış bakım sonucu bitkinin gövdesinin, aldığım günden farklı olduğunu fark ederek bir terslik olduğunu düşündüm. • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před rokem

      If you're seeing brown spots on the leaves of your money tree cuttings after a week in water, it could be a sign of overwatering. Make sure the water level is appropriate and the leaves are not submerged. Also, check the water quality, provide proper lighting, and monitor temperature and humidity. If the problem persists, you may need to adjust your propagation method or consider planting the cuttings in soil instead.

    • @StevesPropagationCorner
      @StevesPropagationCorner  Před rokem

      For your money tree, you can use a balanced water-soluble fertilizer with an NPK ratio of 10-10-10 or 20-20-20. Alternatively, consider slow-release granular fertilizer or organic options like compost or well-rotted manure. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer packaging and avoid overfertilizing. Consult a plant expert for personalized guidance if needed.

      Oh sorry to hear that, fungus gnats are so annoying! Unfortunately it’s that time of year. 🫤 To try to get them under control, you should let the soil of your plants dry out between waterings. If the soil is constantly moist, it will provide the ideal conditions for fungus gnats to grow. Hope this helps! 🤞🏼

      Great question! For propagating Pachira aquatica, changing the water every 7-10 days is generally a good practice. It helps maintain a clean and conducive environment for root development. If the water starts looking cloudy or develops an unpleasant odor between changes, you might want to replace it sooner. Happy propagating! 🌿💧
